  1. Just make sure that you do not advanced cash payment and ensured that he/she who is your contractor had the HDB license. Ask he/she to show you the HDB license ID before enaging this kind of deal. I, myself was once a victim too believing into the story and I end up in this situation. Well, having HDB license contractor may or may not had good workmanship quality but it at least assure you that when DISPUTE arrived you have something to safeguard on. A terrible mistake that I had made by believing that a contractor who claimed that he can do permit using his friend's company. Later did I found out that the Company is just an empty shell. I am still tracing this issue and every evidence I am still keeping till today incase this unreliable want to dispute again.
  2. Firstly, it is important to make sure they at least had HDB License (Having HDB Licnse. Secondly, all payment must be over to the company ID, not through the Contractor pocket. Most renovation Contractors usually run out of cash flow, and they will normally tried to get bits and pieces of job and cover those costs here and there. A reason for a HDB license or BCA Licence is just to cover yourself in-case of any disputes arises, you can look for the respective authority to persuade into the matter. Do take note, your payment with Contractors must always get a receipt or confirmation either by writing or SMS to you when you started making progressive payment.

  4. Just a word of advice, cheap price does not mean good. You might end up alot of troubles. Tried to make sure that the contractor got HDB Licence. It is just an assurance to cover you if any dispute arise.
  5. Make sure the contractor had BCA or HDB license (RADAC) while doing such work. It is just a measure to protect the consumer if any dispute may arise both parties when work is started.
  6. Just be wise into looking for a contractor. Make sure they had HDB license. Well, contractor does have HDB license and for some reason they say dun know, dun trust them.
  7. Popping up of tiles also depend, are you doing Overlaying. Most case, if you are doing overlay, popping of tiles can happened. For my case, I hacked away the floor tiles and cement screed, than laid Laminated Flooring which will no tiles can pop-up.
  8. Call up Town Council and asked, just a simple telephone could resolved your issue. Alert and prompt your contractor that you had called up Town Council and check the information..
  9. What I did is, paint to wall colour for the box plate. Not so obvious.
  10. I am also using Supreme AC5 not bad. But my floor got scratches.. heartpain. All laminated company the same, lifetime warranty is only on the labour (i think) but they charge material only.
