Main office at No.10 Woodlands Loop, they have branch in Rowell Rd as well as a few other places.

The best buy (according to CNET ASIA) is the Toshiba 32" LCD TV going at $799 only. I am sure there will be quite a few sub-$1000 32" LCD TV on sale. I like the Sony TV but they are a bit more pricey than the others. May be going for a Samsung this time round but will also check out Philips and Sony. If Sharp has something good to offer I may also consider. Somehow don't like LG (maybe my bad experience haunted me) and Panasonic is more on Plasma so will be out for me as well.

My parent's house have not changed her PVC pipe since purchase. Moved in 1985. Have no leakage problem at all.

Do you cook often? I am using a Ariston 30cm hob with 2 vitroceramic burner and a Ariston 60cm hood. Same config as my previous house. Served us well.

Err...cannot remember leh...now also cannot check... Just remember forgot to pass the warranty card to the new owner.

I used Kronotex. There is only one floor cleaner I found for laminate, Sofix brand. One important thing is if got water must quickly wipe away, don't let it sip through. The settling period the feeling don't know how to describe, coz they put a layer of thing in between, when walk got the 'clark clark' sound...after a few weeks ok liao. Hollow feeling? Hmm...so far so good leh when I still at my old place. Pop out? Hmm...don't think so leh...laminate, unlike parquet are very strong and scratch proof too (unless very very strong force).

Kum sia kum sia...But I still cannot fully decide yet...once I decided and if you are still also calling for quotes than I trouble you again So you going for inverter?
-
I did that for my old house. No problem. BUT...you might make sure your existing tiles did not raise too high. As a rule, the bottom of the window and the floor should be at least 1m. The laminated floor will add a bit of height only, so not so bad if your current tiles are of correct standard height. I sold my flat after 2 years and when I left, the floor are flawless....and I kinda miss it! Really love the laminated flooring and I did it for my whole house, bedrooms and living rooms. Very easy to maintain and don't have any problem with it. After laying, for the initial WEEKS, you will still feel a bit hollow feeling as the flooring sets in, after a few weeks it will feel really good liao. I have not regrets. But my current place HDB just redo all the tiles, a bit wasted to put laminate again, but may consider after maybe 5 years. But do check to ensure your tiles are in good condition, most of the time the worry is the tiles underneath got problem.

Quite sure it is not. Only the black (or was it dark blue) roller blind is on sale, not the curtain rod. Just bought the KVARTAL curtain suspension system for my balcony doors. The chairs are very sellable, so will not be on sales.

Mine got aircon ledge, so no need bracket. I also not decided leh, at first was quite sure, but after installing ceiling fans in every room, and this few days at my parent's place sleeping near ceiling fan, got 2nd thoughts, think I will use aircon a lot less than previously. So now wondering if to go for inverter or non-inverter.... What am I so flicker minded! Can save quite a bit if go for non-inverter leh...but....

Last time all like to change to copper pipe. But now another theory is PVC pipe can last longer with on worry while copper pipe may rust. Maybe stainless steel pipe will be better but sure more expensive. So not sure leh.

I got 2 contacts. One from 2 years ago (not sure still in biz) and another from the recent Modern Living 2008 at Singapore Expo. Will post them here tonight coz the file not with me.

I highly recommend you read this blog: http://singapore-aircon.blogspot.com/ Under the section Materials and Installation I extracted the following: Class 1 & Class O = Fire Propagation Test Standards for insulation. In simple terms, the insulation inability to burn. Someone here mentioned that it is not so important whether it is class 0 or class 1, more important is the thickness. Usually installer will try to give 3/8" but recommended seems to be 1/2".

Haha...hmm...maybe...never thought of that...I actually enjoy fixing, so maybe that's why me and Ikea are a good fit....hahaha....

BTW saw in the Straits Times classified either yesterday or the day before that this place in Eunos having warehouse sales for Ceiling Fans, claim to have over 5000 pieces (not sure how many display) and starts from $49 only. Never been down so can't verify, if you are around the area you may go take a look too.

Re: Front Load Washing Machine For Recommendation
keltong replied to homanfai's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I have always used continental washer and find them to be very good and reliable. As for cheap, they are not the cheapest definitely. Asian style load can be as cheap as $299, you will never find this kind of price for continental style washer. The newest ones come with 30min/45min wash cycle which cuts down the time (and thus power) to wash a normal load for those not so soiled clothes. The usual time is about 1-1.5 hrs. -
Wah...imported leh...I not so adventures to go JB and find...also don't know how to start....haha....so better stick to local...saw 1 or 2 interesting one so far...but still looking... Also toying with the idea of feature wall...see your pix make my heart itchy...hahahaha......

I had a Brandt front load washer and dryer. Lasted me about 7years and died. Than I got the Thomson washer and dryer (slim version) passed to me by my brother which they have used for about 8-9 years. I continue to use it for another 2 years. The washer died but the dryer still using. Just bought a Brandt slim dryer. Like it slim and I can put them side by side in my small service balcony. Don't know why but always prefer continental than asian type washer.
