  2. must stir out the heat using a spoon before removing the cup from the microwave. DO not immediately poor any coffee powder into or else sure something bad will happen.
  3. 2 person, 1 4ft fish tank, 1 1m x 1m fish pond, fridge is 500L. washing 2 times a week, no dryer. Avg $80 per month We have not on the aircon (window unit) since jan as weather is good, been using fan. I will make a point to off lights when no one in rooms incl toilet, kitchen. We would watch tv together, thus use 1 fan and on 1 living room light. If two parties in separate room, either using computer, read mag, watch 2 tvs, it would consume electricity which is light and fan and tv too. Try to off the tv main power switch (not jus using remote to off it to standby mode) cos standby mode consume electricity too. Dun on the electric kettle jus becos of a cup of coffee cos it consume alot electricty especially big big thermal airport. Use microwave for one cup of hot water.
  4. I went to classic kitchen to look see last nite. Me and hubby like the place, quality, varieties of laminates. For those old school swing door wardrobe..it is $265 per foot run (excl GST). If sliding door, non-pool system, $365 per foot run (excl GST). They only give 3 drawers, unlimited hanging pools and shelving. Similar to closet design. the sliding door dun have bottom track. Sort of clasp top and bottom to slide. They said they been there for more than 20years...not sure how true.... Said theirs is solid wood too...not those compressed wood chips. anyone got good review about this??
  5. how about plastering the side after all the hacking?
  6. sigh, i would not have considered had not the contractor quote me $5k for doing ONE toilet. Hack and laying new floor and wall tiles. Still looking for better reasonable quote.
  7. not tempered glass. just laminate..glossy finishing, two large pull out drawers, inside hidden 2 small pull out drawers to maximise air space. Saw it at IMM...$1640++ 2.4m long leh..
  8. Anyone been to Takayama, Toyama, Tateyama, Snow corridor, nagano? I am going in Apr 2008 and it is my 1st time going to these places. I have been to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hokkaido but these are commonly travelled and information are easily available. For Takayama, i will be going to Shirakawago and not sure if it is worth it. For Tateyama, i will defn experience the Alpine Kurobe Route for the snow corridor. Also will be visiting Daio Wasabi Farm at Matsumoto too. I am not very confident on the transport part. Anyone can share their experience with me? deeply appreciated.
  9. Om got one. very nice and sleek and exp. still considering. Dun wan those with metaliic handle cos sharp edge of handle will scratch my legs or kids walking by.
  10. i had a pvc or so call fake leather sofa in Year 2000 when i got my house. As i have no aircon in the living room, it gets warm and sweaty after sitting or lying on the sofa. I got to clean it often to rid of human persipration and moisturise it to prevent cracking. Over time, the color fade here and there and the material split and crack, maybe due to stretching. After 6 years, had enuff. Now mine is a fabric sofa, high scratch resistant, washing machine washable too. I also realise that a sofa with high back rest is important especially for taller pple as it gets rather tiring at the neck area if sit too long, inadequate support. i even vacuum it using a handheld model (purchase solely for sofa and bed) and maintenance is really easy. of cos the cost is far apart, mine 3 seater fake leather sofa $550. Fabric sofa $2300 but worth it! Jus my own views. I am not a sales person and not in the furniture industry at all.
  11. mine whirlpool been using it for past 7 years. been using front loading washer since childhood. space saving cos can put stuff on top of washer. Use less water too.
  12. mine is mitsubishi. Always wanted a Mit Fridge if i got my house one day. Been using it since Year 2000. My bro also use this. no prob. 504L 2 door.
  13. sigh...buying big purchases always comes with headache, anxiety and heartache. even now, i cant even made up my mind on wardrobe. visiting many big brands like lumiera, closet D, Cupboards, Alumix. And will be visiting classic kitchen too. Hubby says see more, more confused. so scare, pole drop, clothes fell, door smashing down. see countess of pic of nice wardrobe that fellow forummers put up. haha....maybe money nowadays hard to earn...blood sweat money...so must make every penny work harder. hopefully all will be over...
  14. Hi, i need to change my MBR door to a sliding door or some bi-fold door. My MBR is not at one end of the wall but at 75% position. hence when i open fully, i will smash into the wardrobe behind the door. also it is very very close to my bed frame too. so i need a sliding door, which can keep aircon flowing out, to block noise from living room and not transparent or translucent. Any suggestion?
  15. har? you mean even though he wrote it in my invoice '60months installation workmanship warranty' [exact work written] is not true?? sob sob...it is not a $10k watch or $50k car, but merely a $2k aircon, why con me?
  16. Just call, Salesman Mr teo says they using Totaline wat toshiba original....say the armflext and thermalflex not PSB tested....win liao loh... warranty for compressor 5 years and parts 1 years as provided by Mit.
  17. I will call Allbest to ask more info on the warranty. So far, he only wrote 5 years intallation workmanship warranty. never say anything about the compressor and parts. hmm..i pass by best tech yesterday...bo lang leh...quiet... mine from allbest $1888 + $150 bracket. if credit card instalment, add 5%. seems cheaper hor. not sure about service cos have not instal yet..maybe 4 months later.
  18. Hi, GOOD morning, i tot i am the only crazy person reading this forum at such early hours on weekend. Mine is R22 model. Sales man, Mr Teo.N.W (off on Tuesday) says the R410 to top up the gas is expensive. As ours is super low usage for only 2 persons, he recommend R22. I did honest tell him that if R410 is better, i dun mind pay more. Salesman uncle says no need waste money. haha. Good or not good? i kena con by $8 ??? sob sob To rectify my computation It is 2038 (1888 + 150) + 5% for credit card instalment = 2139.90. vowsh : did the sales man quote you using the class 0 tingy? paiseh lah, din join u all for bulk. Tired to researching, looking and shopping. The salesman seems honest thou. uncle uncle kind. He also says if i wan to aircon whole house, recommend Daikin, the aircon for living room is a longer and bigger one. Only $2600++. But also ask us dun waste money cos only 2 of us.
  19. I have visited Lumiera, Closet Design, Alumix and Cupboards. Luckily went alone, so no pushy sales man to ask me to sign package...hehe..beydey that i need to discuss with hubby. Closet Design - very asethetics. for 14ft est 4.2m, $4300, non-pole sys, unlimited shelving. For pole system $4600, 14 shelving, 6 drawers, and 2 those mini pigeon holes in drawers tingy to put tie or socks. Cupboards - 3.2m (10ft), $3850, pole system, 5 poles, 5 hangers pole, 2 drawers, Lumiera - one of the forummer club 101 installing, 18ft, 4k!! 10 year warranty, non-pole system. alumix - same as 10ft $3.2k ++, asethetics too I like the sliding door of Cupboards, smooth, quiet and heavy. it has a broad metal fram behind each door to prevent shakeyness. But expensive, maybe cost it is branded??? Lumiera wardrobe are non-asethetics, cant have half wood laminate, half glass. All are FULL glass, mirror or something else. But the sliding track is good. The sliding door does not jus meet at a partition wall acting as stopper, but it is ending IN a track similar to the top track, to keep the door, hence, no dust, no furry stick-on at the end of the door. seems that cheapest is Lumiera if going for non-pole system. But the salesguy did says that it is also moveable if i shift house next time. Will go with hubby to see lumiera at The Plaza, Beach Road again.
  20. As mine is a 20year old HDB, i do not have the aircon ledge, meaning the compressor will be on the bracket outside the MDR window. As i have no balcony, i cant have two compressors even if i wan to aircon the whole house. For panasonic, the compressor is pretty tall, hence, i will not be able to change to swing window in the MBR in future. Hence, i choose the Mit. Hubby very impress with the easy clean function of Mit, really very easy. Cant do the same for Pan. And the Mit compressor is vey very quiet too. Hence, we choose Mit. As it is not assembled in Japan, spare parts should be no issue.
  21. hi, so confused..visit the Fa**h C**t company. The guy demo can heavy scratch the floor leh...and recommend hard scrubbing too. very impressive, but color not so nice. Cos no more cement grouting, so no prob with mould and algea and wat not. But contractor says painting no good, says if good, ebione will be doing that liao...how much all still using tiles, hack and overlay. sigh... i so confused...hubby says if i can more confused if i keep reading forum pages and consulting many contractors....i so tired.
  22. Hi ebione, must apologise...went IMM and end up buying Mit sys 3 non-inverter, the sales man very good at talking...sigh..wrong move to go with hubby...And guess what, i buy from All best..the one i keep saying maybe no good..haha..gonna slap myself..the sales man seems more honest than GC..seems lah..i dunno if true or not cos i nuts to technical terms here is my damage Mit sys 3 non-inverter Easy Clean StarMex, $1888 + 5% for using credit card instalment + $150 bracket = $2139.99 NETT This incl class 0 for both indoor and outdoor, copper 23, 1/2 inch thingy, 5 years warranty on workmanship and installation, no limited on length of trunking, horizontal PVC drain pipe upgrade (dunno wat it is)...... FOC dismantle my window unit aircon, 2 visits (1st for trunking so that i can paint the room and 2nd time for instal the aircon, and $120 service voucher.
