It IS a soap opera!! Keeps you waiting for the next installment!! Keep them coming!! and good luck with your reno! We DIY alot around the house too... just finished doing up my dressing table chair (12 year old IKEA!!) and now planning to do up the wall behind our bed with fabric....

EXACTLY! Lucas isn't really that bad a player, just a scape goat rather than Gerrard who had quite a number of less than stellar games last season coz he isn't English. i've said it before, but the players we have now aren't the best, (especially after we sell Masch!!) but that's the least of our problems!! If those carpet-baggers remain as owners of Liverpool... I won't be surprised if we end up in the Championship soon...

to be fair have been using both the ordinary and the "wet area" one for years and have only found problems in my new place... maybe it's the new place?

Where To Purchase Cheap & Good Home Appliances
patsy_sg replied to katfaith's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I buy everything from Harvey Norman Millenia, look for Joshua or Sam, like the service. for my fridge, I was tempted to buy the super big one but they convinced me i don't need the size (even if it was 2k more), same for the tv.... plus, can bargain as a package price! pm me if you want Joshua's no. And...I do like the extended 5 yr warranty. -
good to hear that! Hope you have a great Hari Raya in your new home!
-
really sorry you had to go through this! hope you're well and enjoying your new place now!

anyone who is looking to buy used but still in good shape furniture can go to the auctions here: Expat Auctions I am in no way affiliated with them but just managed to get some really good buys during the auction. note: most of the stuff are woody/oriental but there are some contemporary stuff also.... really good deals!

just be careful when you turn on the tap, don't turn it on at full because if the pressure is very high, tendency to splash all over and get whoever is in front of the sink all wet! Speaking from experience coz a friend used this in her downstairs powder room

No problems..... We'll definitely flock to the Zoo! Let you in on a secret, the furniture were inspired by JE pieces, but custom made elsewhere!!! I can give you the contacts if you want.

will there be an open house for all of us to drool, errmmm i mean admire the place? and no orchestra can proceed without the manager!! remembere that!
-
plus, repainting is easy, even plastering, just be willing to employ some elbow greast and lots of sweat!!! When I got my first place, out of stubborness (and the shock you had to pay someone $3k to plaster and paint an EA), we plastered and painted the whole house, yes, including ceilings ourselves! It can be quite fun but very very tiring! Think you have to convince your Empress to be realistic and practical... do what is within your budget first, then slowly add. Scrounge garage sales/on line sites for used furniture that are still in good condition (lots selling here) then slowly buy new stuff as and when you have the cash!
-
hey hey.... rarely on msn these days but if i'm on line give me a buzz and we can plan for a visit! Thanks for the compliments... you saw I kept the rug? tempted to buy more for the bedroom and study, but no time for now, travelling too much (writing to you from Jakarta, in Manila next week!) And your kids are welcome... the house is meant to live in, not look at so I get friends to bring their kids for dinners/craft times all the time!
