Switched business model, platform doesn't fit anymore

Moved from one-time sales to subscription and realized our entire backend assumes the old model. Billing, user management, access control all need rethinking. Curious if anyone found software development services that handled a model transition without it becoming a complete rewrite nightmare.

We went through that shift a while back and underestimated how deep it goes. It wasn’t just billing, even permissions and user states had to change. At first everyone suggested rebuilding from scratch, which felt excessive. While looking into structuring recurring relationships better, I found CRM strategies for B2B and it led us to people who approached it in layers instead of a full reset. We gradually adapted the system and avoided a total rewrite, which saved us during the transition period.
