I love your common toilet tiles!!! Very nice! Looks so spa like!

Ya, I think my common toilet looks nicer than my master bathroom :dunno:

Updates update updates!!!

Finally the painters arrive yesterday and they started painting the ceiling. Yay!!!

There are so many holes around the walls due to the piping and re-routing of switches and aircon trunking

and they are patching it before they can start painting.

Will be meeting Robin later to get a quote on window films and choose the wall paper.

I just called Jason and ask him about the gas pipe. He said I am supposed to arrange for city gas to come and install.

I was like .. huh, how come you or ah soon never tell me before?

So I just called city gas and Thank God they can come on next Monday.

But this means the kitchen cabinets can only be up Tuesday at the earliest.

My main concern is that there is a lack of co-ordination or project management here. Some examples are:

The L-Boxes and cornices went up before the wiring and scv boxes are completely up, so now one of my rooms do not have a scv point.

They forgot about the kitchen sliding door and build a skirting where it is supposed to be, were built, now need to hack.

The fridge base was built so close to the wall and there is no allowance for the sliding door to close, need to rectify.

The switches cannot be located next to the fridge due to lack of space, so now to reroute.

The windows film has not yet been removed and cleaned yet, not sure if it will affect the paint job

Sorry if these came out like a vent, but i do hope this will help the rest of people who are on the 'journey'.

To be honest, my patience is already wearing thin with the way things are going.

First, they use the wrong tiles and now say electrical works not included!

Maybe, I should insist they install the correct tiles no matter what!

Hi 12digit,

Who is your contractor / ID? I understand your frustrations becos I also feel like a bit frustrated with the progress sometimes.

But all is well when the things get rectified.

But don't let it affect you so much .. cheer up okie?

Hi, we also wanted to choose those tiles, the lady was very proud of them:) But its more expensive than the normal tiles so we are not sure if our contractor will allow it...

Ya, I think it cost more than $3 definitely. It has a few other colours, but this one is our favourite.

I cannot recall if I need to top-up, will need to see the final bill then can confirm.

Are you also under ah soon? Or maybe you can check with your contractor :)

very nice common toilet tiles! n i think we all have the same MBR tiles as well. :)

Does it take a lot to clean the common toilet wall tiles with all the uneven surfaces?

Thanks! I am not the one to clean toilets so it did not cross my mind .. wahaha

But this is only on 1 wall and it is located away from the shower area, so hopefully it will not require cleaning all the time

Whoa.. looks like there's very little to do already!!

Haha .. just now my list was not comprehensive enough. Now the updated list looks much longer hor

Just now ran into ah soon at 7pm with jason, 'lao da' and another guy (maybe alan?) when I was delivering my 3rd round of drinks to the painters for today,

he said he will come by next Monday to check and finish anything outstanding issues.

Hopefully my reno can complete by next week ..

Hmm .. we also thought so. But Jason say that is old technology (something like 'tar' or dunno what) .. the new one don't need??

Maybe you can ask Ah soon or Jason when you meet them?

Update on water proofing. They're currently doing the new thing. No need to wait what so ever, it's like chemical which is layered on the floor, then the just pile cement over it. For the toilet, they need to wait for it to dry before they cement.

Will update my blog on the waterproofing pics :)
