Hi, can you share the steps how you do the laminates? Probably the tools as well?

I'm thinking of laminating my main door instead of painting it ... the plan is to strip down the old layers of paint and remove the decorative trimmings before putting on laminate of our choice.

Many thanks.

Cheers.

Hi, very nice. Is it scratch proof? I don't want to DIY as I'm very clumsy on this. Any way to find some worker to do it if I buy the material separately?

any idea where to buy the decal?

I've got a build in wardrobe that I am thinking of decalling it. I don't want to rebuild the wardrobe but it is looking a little old. Can I get wall paper?

Though best is this kind of decal. Looks really good.

Can I know who and where you bought it from?

hi,

Let me write down the info from my most recent receipt.

the place is Li Fong Hardware Enterprise, 373, Bedok Road, Changi Complex, Singapore 469550,

phone 64446220, 64446231, Fax 64431449

The fella whom I talk to is Ah Hong, quite a friendly person, you can get the whole catalogue from him, there are alot of different type of formica, some expensive, some cheap.

You can buy the cutting tools from him as well...

cheers and good luck...

hi don mind share more how you do it?

- the formica is 'hard' wood sheet or more like sticker?

- you need to buy glue to stick it on or self adhesive?

- do you remove the existing laminate or just paste over it?

thank you so much!

hi,

formica are hard sheet (you need a formica cutter to cut them) that you need to buy glue to stick it on.... if you walk past some shops doing renovation and smells the 'glue sniffer' high, that's the stuff they use.

For a good bond, you always remove any existing laminate.

by comparison, stickers are much cheaper and personally, I'm tempted to use that to lower the cost of some of the stuff that I'm doing.

I'm looking at wall paper at the same time...any idea if it works?

Hi, refer to post #11 of this thread for address. Yes, Formica needs some skil to cut and apply.

Wallpaper I'm not sure of any shop recommendation.
