Making-Do With Existing Wiring

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Is it possible to

1) extend existing electrical wires by connecting to another wire?

2) split one electrical pt into 2 (ie; use a new wire to tap electricity from existing one)

I understand it would be easier if I just do a whole hes re-wiring (aka start from pt zero), but my existing wires are concealed in L-box and cornies.. and I don't wish to hack them away.

Can the above 2 be done?

Thank you!

Should not be a problem.

I didn't re-wire my electrical point too, only shift and add point.

Just tell your electrician. He should know what to do.

So if we are going to shift point and add point, it is not considered as rewiring? And if add point, will tripping happen often? As i'm afraid of the point that the voltage will be overloaded.
