My Mezzo

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm new here and found out about the blog in renotalk. Decided to start a blog for the designing and renovation of my new home. It's my first home so i'm quite excited about it!

Okay, firstly as my title suggests, my new place is called The Mezzo. It's located at Balestier Road. Chose to stay in Balestier because of the love for food and my work place is nearby. Gonna miss the town which i grew up in. =(

My unit is a 2 bedroom unit. If you see the pictures, looks okay but in actual is actually quite small. Lucky the balcony is quite big for chilling. Kitchen is just nice for one person to walk in and out. But i like it small too as i don't cook often.

The living room is still alright. Just that the dining is super mini. Haha.

Well, ive got an extra mini room, and its just nice for mahjong sessions. Love that room though its small. If you see the pictures, i cant properly capture the whole room because its so small and thats the best position i can find. haha

And finally me and my girl room!

Well, the defects has been done by the management and its ready for renovation.

I've chosen Cris from Colourbox Interior Pte Ltd. Referred to by a friend of mine whom also renovated with the id.

Gotten a few quotes from other id firms, the prices were quite competitive but decided to go with Cris because of his design concept and he showed alot of effort on our 2nd appointment, he even prepared a 3D for me to visualize his ideas, actually thats what captured me to work with him.

I wanted a black, white and grey theme. Was kinda lost at what i really wanted at first. But really liked the living room design. Esp the stone wall he proposed to me.

So now, im just awaiting the 3D of the other part of my house before starting work. Hope can complete before the Chinese Ghost Month.

Stay tun

Hi Guys,

Just met up with my ID today to talk about the 3D of my place. Here are the pictures. Give advice guys!

Below image is my Living Room, the grey textured stone is called craft stone as proposed by my ID.

The feature wall uses a laminate which has a rustic feel to it.

I wanted a red and black dining area. Love the use "A" for my table legs which stands for my name. The top is granite top i guess. Still thinking if i should go for quartz, my ID said quartz is better quality. Any comments on the lights? My ID also proposed tat i choose a inspirational word which will be fabricated out and pasted on the mirror wall. Haha, researching for some now. There a super slim cabinet for me to put my slippers and everyday shoes cause basically there is no other space for me to put.

This is the laminate Cris has chosen for me. Its like a illusion wave effect. Looks luxurious to me.

Kitchen got to tie in with the dining area. Any views on this?

And finally...my mahjong room, i didnt had any idea for this room, only wanted it to be a mahjong room. So, Cris came up with a United room. Our first meeting we talked about soccer and realised both of us are united fans. It's of red crafted stones and a big wallpaper of Old Trafford on the other side. The bay windows will be something like a bench kind of feel. His idea was to make it look like you're in Old Trafford, changing room. Guess this is the best room among the rest haha.

And this is my bedroom. But Cris told me that the walls wont look like this, something similar but the 3D didnt quite displayed what he wanted. So gotta wait for another 3D for my room.

So yup, thats about it for today's appointment. Kindly share your ideas and views guys.
