Pipes Must Not Be Concealed?

Recommended Posts

Is it true? When doing hacking and re-tiling of wall and floor tiles in bathrooms, the pipes MUST NOT be concealed?

Then I might as well not hack or re-tile? What for I spend so much to do up the bathroom yet see the un-sightly pipes???

I cannot understand by HDB can conceal it, but not its recognised contractors... hmm......

Which silly person told you cannot conceal pipes?

All condos and HDB can condo piping. Only matter of do u have the layout of piping? If not do the easiest, use mosaic over the piping so u know in future "do not hack the mosaic" coz piping is behind the mosaic

Errrr .... This 'silly person' is highly recommended by many in this site?

Maybe I wasn't clear in my explanation?

I was told, if I hack my wall and floor tiles, sure will harm the existing pipes (HDB concealed).

Thus, pipes will need to be replaced.

However, I will not be allowed to conceal them now.

don't think it will damage the pipe, cause they only hack the tiles not the pipe. After relay will be swee swee and can conceal. Ask HDB if you still skeptical. Good luck.

Okay, just spoken with HDB guy.

It is NOT a must to show the pipes.

But he advises me not to conceal them because pipes might leak due to poor workmanship, 'natural' expansion and contract of pipes due to temperature changes,

or due to vibrations caused by the floor above doing reno (if any).

Cheers! :sport-smiley-018:
