Going by fluid mechanics, the adapter/reducer contributes very little to pressure loss. It is the elbows that cause significant pressure loss. I don't think my kitchen faucet is very much affected with adapter installed.

Wow! been so long since I was here and almost couldn't find this thread anymore So anyway, this is long overdue but we have received our singsale order. I can say pretty disappointed with the rubbish bin because it's made of metal it was dented when it arrived IMG_20140701_170447 by asy_moshi_moshi, on Flickr The others was fine though haven't put up the shower curtain yet... And we got this nice carpet from geylang for just $98 I like the design and the softness IMG_20140709_171907_1 by asy_moshi_moshi, on Flickr

To those who are asking me for the quotation of my reno, i feel it's not relevant to share it cos everyone's concept, design and needs are different. Unless you are intending to renovate your place exactly like what i have if not there is nothing to compare. To be frank, i don't even have a finalized quotation even now as we have made a lot of changes along the way. We decide to proceed with the reno first. Like what my ID said, if you appreciate design then you will not talk about cost or discount. There is a price to pay if you want to be different. A lot of the interesting reno i've seen in magazine cost around 70 - 90k to do so mine is no different.

Hi Binzz, Our resale flat is 10 years old and previously the house was already on exposed piping so HDB licensed contractors have to keep it that way, in case of pipe burst or leaks it is easier to fix (without hacking). When we complained our contractor just sent us the link on HDB website stating why this is so...you better check with your contractor and confirm everything. Ours just happened and the pity is now we have a nice toilet but exposed pipes- which we will be painting white. I think you need to get your contractor to tell you how these pipes are run so you can visualise, for us we overlooked this and thus the shocker. Too late to complain now work is done. He is fixing the wall bracket today to cover that copper part behind the tap but basically, we have to live with that exposed tap Hi Eastlovin That lovely dog of ours is a Corgi...she is my wife's best purchase (according to the wife, corgi gets more praises than her branded bags). I was never a furry animal lover but even this dog has wiggled herself into my heart.

Hello all, I recently purchased a hansgrohe tap from amazon and had the same problem as some of you i.e. the piping from my wall is 1/2" while the tap came with the standard U.S. size of 3/8". After much searching, I found the required part which is a reducer that is 1/2" female going to a 3/8" male (U.S. spec). You can get this part from Teck Siong Huat Hardware located at Blk 28, Kelantan Road, #01-137, Singapore 200028, TEL 6848 4848 The chap there is quite friendly and knows exactly what is required. Hope this helps!

Sharing my experience. I engaged a contractor too, after sourcing through many IDs. Contractor cheaper than IDs for same work done. Reno has started, hope it completes well too. So far so good. Good workmanship and very responsive. Got pics in my t-blog. pm me if you want his contact number.

Not too sure about penalties for air-conditioning the whole roof terrace, but I think the electricity bill will be SCARY. You can have a good mix of plants on your roof terrace to keep it nice and shady, then you don't need to box it all up, otherwise, it's quite a waste really.... If they used chengai wood for the roof terrace, I imagine it should last a good 10+ yrs at least, but the shine and lustre on the wood will fade because of the sun and rain. I didn't put any wooden planks on my rooftop because I was worried how to clean the area below the planks, and how to make sure creepy crawlies weren't living under there. If you got problem with waterproofing later on, you also need to remove all the wooden planks. I think having a small area with wooden planks is ok, but to do up the whole roof terrace and maintain it in tip top condition might be more tricky, especially in our type of climate.

Hi just wanna give my feedback on Ernest-Interior. After reading the forum, I tried to contact one of the Ernest ID Mr B. He took a week to send a quotation. When I sms him for further enquiries, he doesn't reply. Two days already. Email him also no reply. Call him also never answer. At least should have the courtesy to tell the potential client that "I am busy I will get back to you asap" right? On the other hand, when I contact other ID from other firm, they can give me the quotation promptly. Feel that may be Ernest ID too busy thus their efficiency rate is slow.
