1 pointI felt that you don't really need to care about the theme as long as you renovate/decorate the house according to your likes!
-
1 pointYou can try google these themes and see how they are like. If you are not sure what theme you like, you can search online and some sites have these quiz which you take and see what kind of theme suits you.

1 pointNot wild at all. My TV has always been in the common room and not living room. Creates a cosier atmosphere and frees up the living room for human interaction without distractions. No TV in mbr too for similar reasons. Don't be afraid to execute your ideas if you really think they are feasible. Even if it doesn't turn out the way it should, at least you know after trying rather than wonder and regretting

1 pointI know if I never stick anything to warn that the glass door is close, one day my head sure bleed one. DIY abit for the peace of mind.
-
1 pointYes bro, using glass is that I have installed lighting in it. The glass cabinet is for display purpose, will not be messy. Some ancient teapot and wine glasses. It's done, and the long awaited LED rain shower finally installed.

1 pointSo far tiling of the toilets and kitchen are done. Currently running wires and cables for the house. Electrical needs some planning especially for first time house owner. Numerous issues to consider and this will have a significant impact on the reno budget. Many failed to realize how costly electrical is and fail to cater a realistic budget for it. Number of lighting points - depends if you are doing false ceiling, cove lights. Normally false ceiling will come with down light. One plus point of false ceiling is that it can help to conceal aircon trunkings, wiring etc. Down light are costly, ranging from $20 or more, even more for LEDs. and each down light is consider as a lighting point. So add the cost up - eg. down light cost $30, lighting point $35, installing $10 = $75, imagine if you have 20 of these. Also have not add in the cost of the false ceiling. 13A Power Point - The price difference between one and double power point is a mere $10-$20, so most owners will go for double at a given point. Then it is the cost of a double point that is the killer. Prices ranges from $60 or more per double. So if you place gonna install 15 double point, you know your math. Data Point - Averages from $110 up. Average house need 4 points if doing structure cabling. TV Point - eg. $90 per point, if all rooms need one, mean times 3. Telephone Point - Also in the tens of dollars, can be $50 or more but may not be need in all rooms since most if not all uses HP. Unless fax is needed. Then the rest there are aircon point, 2 way switches, installation of fan, installation of lights, hood & hob point etc subject to needs and want. Some prefer different switches like Clipsal, Legrand, schneider etc and so the price snowball..... Time to bring out the calculator...... Remember, each lighting point is counted as one point. So if you choose a pendant light that needs 3 pcs of it to achieve that aesthetic look means you are paying 3 x lighting point and 3 x light installation. 2 way switches are a must in some houses due to layout. No one wants to off the living room light where the switch is near the main door and only to walk thru the darkness to the bed room. So beware and be prepare.

1 pointHi Asking4Help Yes, I noticed that some toilets flush better than others. For example, I used the Toto CT940 for all my toilets as it seems to flush better. I think the water does not go straight down. It kind of spins anti-clockwise. The shop did tell me this particular model has one of the best flushing systems. This video (not by me) shows what I mean. The other neat thing about this WC is that you can use the Toto washlet. But the WC is quite big and price is on the high side. You can go to Fullsun, the Toto dealer along Jalan Besar to check it out. Their WCs have water connected, so you can actually sit (to see if comfortable or not), flush and see for yourself! Just in case you do not know, not all WCs can fit. You need to measure your toilet rough in i.e. the distance from the centre of your WC outlet to the wall. If the outlet is covered by your existing WC, I believe (but I am not certain) you can measure from the hold-down bolt. I am not sure about the ticks. I think the more ticks, the less water it uses? That being the case, unless it uses some technology that does the same job with less water, less water will mean weaker flush, which may mean you have to flush twice, resulting in you using more water than you would with a normal 2 or 3 ticks WC? Which defeats the purpose of saving water in the first place? Best to just follow this: "If it is yellow, let it mellow. If it is brown, flush it down"

1 pointHi, I personally didnt use an ID when we did up our resale couple of months back. Sometimes, people use ID for convenience as they don't know where to start. For us, not having an ID makes the entire project more fun and definitely more "brainstorming" together in putting our ideas together. Got a contractor to do the hacking, floor tiles, parquet, toilets and carpentry. Results were good and many friends who came by asked who our ID was. An ID is good in doing the mock up/3D drawings for visualisation but I was also surprised when the carpenter drew up 3D when we told him our requirements for the wardrobe and cabinets. Since your flooring is already done, perhaps it will largely be on carpentry, lighting and maybe toilets? Shouldnt cost too much unless you will be heavy on the carpentry works. Let me know if you wish to have the contractor contact.
