Happy Valentine's Everyone! Here's the view of one of our walls in our bedroom opposite our bed. We tried to make it look simple and minimalist. Not too much color, just industrial black and raw wood... hence the wooden frames with black & white photos to reminisce our happy moments. [read more on our blog post here]

Walk in Wardrobe Hello friends, I am very pleased to announce that a big piece of the puzzle has fit into place. Our wiw was finally set up today! There was a considerable wait not least because of the CNY break, plus they had to install the frame for the glass sliding door one week before the installation of everything else. Without further ado, here are the pictures. This is the view from the main bedroom. Now that there are glass doors in place, the whole place looks smaller, but the black tinted transparent glass doors do give some illusion of space. View of the sliding glass door when open to the side - the sliding mechanism seems quite smooth, and we have the option of moving the side panels if we want to as well. Right hand side of WIW - includes pigeon holes for tshirts, 2 wire baskets and 2 drawers. This is presumably my side of the WIW, but I have a feeling that I will have to give up some space to the missus in time! Left hand side of WIW - includes 4 pigeon holes, 1 pull out mirror and 4 drawers Reverse views of the WIW. Overall, quite pleased with the workmanship and finishing of the pole system. The vendor did a great job, though the waiting time could have been less. Nevertheless, the worker arrived on time to set up the system on both occasions, so no complaints there.

Morning! Yup, saw that you used Alan too... Sigh. We're going to be really vigilant! Thankfully one of us works just a few minutes away from the new home so can pop by easily to check on the progress and catch any mistakes early. Thanks for the tip on the sub-cons, will do that! Hacking should start sometime this week! Woo!

Since the last update, we met up with #imagecreativedesign the 3rd time: We have viewed a couple of 3D designs and drawings. I have to say, the kitchen was EXACTLY what I wanted. I absolutely loved it. We couldn't really decide on how we want the living room, bedroom and toilets to be, so that still requires some discussion. After further discussion, the quote turned out to be almost $29k. Of course they managed to give some discount. We really wanted to go ahead and sign the contract, but since it was a huge amount to spend, and we haven't discussed till this stage with any other ID, we asked him to wait. He was very patient and understanding, no hard selling. We managed to meet up with the LEGENDARY #MrK. But this guy is from #H2Odesign. I think there is another one from #IdealHouse? Anyways, he is more like a contractor uncle. He obviously knows his stuff and has surprisingly creative ideas too. Our friend compared James's and MrK's quote before and MrK's is cheaper. We have shared our ideas with him and still eagerly waiting for his quote! We went to #Absolook's open house and spoke to Michelle. Nice lady to talk to! We went ahead to discuss our reno and design plans.. quote also turned out to be roughly $29k. But we discussed it at the open house in a rush so there were many things to change in the quote. We haven't seen the final quote yet. Comparing these 3, we find ourselves ranking #MrK first. Mainly because of his many other good reviews and generally cheaper quote. He did mention that some have feed backed that his quote is more ex. #Imagecreativedesign is a little pricey even though we love his service and attitude. We find ourselves trying to remove or reduce things here and there so that it is still within the budget. #Absolook's Michelle is a little inexperienced because she is quite young.

On chinese tradition; Pick a good date from calendar or FSM to pray 4 corner. Following is what i did last time. Don't ask me why i just follow what i was told to do. - Better if the house is emptied of furniture - Buy 5 oranges , 5 apple, 1 pineapple, bundle of joss stick & candle, Tabun incense with burner. some cans/container for joss stick - Place the fruits, 3 joss stick & 2 candle in the center of your living room. - For the 4 corner of your living room, place 3 joss stick and 2 candle. - Close all the window. - Lit up the Tabun incense and put it in the burner. Fume every inch/corner of your house with the Tabun Fume. (Good for chasing away insects/pest) - Make sure the candle fire is blown off. - Leave the fruits offering in the house. Leave the house and lock it. Choose a good date to come back to your new home (at least 3 days after praying 4 corner) 1st thing you do when go back - Open all the window. Clear the fruits offering and candles. Do some cleaning up. Thats it.
