  1. i pay 1k 1k when i feel like it.
  2. Hi i've just removed my platform bed which ex-owner built as well. for me, the exposed floor is already parquet, and there is nothing underneath the platform, thus i just laid parquet. platform is about 13 yrs old, and there is no use of nails, only glue. actually if you wana cover the tiles, u can juz overlay wooden strips, don't have to hack and lay parquet. my area to lay parquet oso about 150 sq ft, cost me $850 to lay and revarnish.
  3. how many layers to lacquer normally huh? will applying one layer over the other result in unevenness etc?
  4. no problem, i was rather shocked to receive that letter myself as town council oso never do anything and wana collect moolah from me?
  5. ok, spoke to town council, they'll waive as mine is resale and contractor does his own haulage.
  6. time for some updates again I've just completed my main door lock, but not without troubles as well. Well, i brought my existing lock to the shop, and bought a total replacement. on fixing the new one, the existing door holes on the door frame do not really align, thus resulting in the door able to close but cannot lock. Haiz, spent some arm power and precious time to file the hole to the correct alignment. here's the results.
  7. my renovation has already been completed, and i just received the letter on aug 14th. i'll ask my contractor tomorrow, but from hdb website, it says 3.2 The flat owner shall pay for the haulage and debris removal services provided by the Town Council, where applicable. where applicable, me nor my contractor used town council haulage, and we did not throw debris anywhere. pay what.
  8. Hi all, my renovator uses his own haulage, and disposal by his own workers. How come town council will send me a letter to pay 267.50 for haulage fee? is this fee compulsary to pay regardless of using the haulage service?
  9. its aluminium. is there stainless steel bi-fold?
  10. hi carelinwen yup, the bi-fold is sitting on a kerb, so water should not splash out.PM-ed you the contact.
  11. hi, my quote as part of a whole house reno package, so i oso dunno comes with or without org frame removal. anyway here are some pictures of my bi-fold, org door frame is already hacked off. there's only 3 sides to my frame, the bottom is frameless. common toilet top portion, with the frame. bottom portion, no frame MBR top portion MBR bottom portion $260 each, not cheap but quality wise is still ok.
  12. hello all its been a long time since i last updated... well, nothing much had happened since the last update, typically its painting time..bought a few tins of paint to paint up the house, had not finish yet so no pictures for that..din know that preparing to paint is such a hassle, so many patching up to do, so many sanding to do, and still got to clean up after that, so tiring. Discovered that the previous owner did not sand down the door before they coat a new paint for the MBR and storeroom doors, so the paint could be peeled off since it could not stick on to the previous paint coat..OMG, why din they have some common sense? now i got to scrape off a coat of paint to put my new coat on..or anybody has any better suggestions? was scraping almost 2 hrs today, and only managed 1/2 a door. plan to electric sand the whole paint off.. anyway, let me show ya my bi-fold doors, cost $260 each, which IMO is quite expensive for a bifold. but looks rather good, there isnt any bottom track, my contractor assures me that its good quality, how true is that, well only time can tell. common toilet bifold only top frame no bottom track MBR toilet bi-fold btw, we made the contractor change both the bi-folds for us, because the first time it came up, its full of deep scratches..
  13. must you choose between the 2? why cant you find another contractor that you are more comfortable with?
  14. haiz, i bargained liao but my bi-fold still at $260 each.
  15. ur picture a little too small...can post a bigger one?
  16. definitely cheaper, from what i saw in IMM yest, minimum is $120+. $60 is much cheaper, but think depends on design ba. i'll padlock la, but door wun be secured, ppl can look in when im away for a few hrs. anyway thanks for the help!
  17. hmm...dunno can dismantle or not, coz my reno is done, dismantle means my door no lock for a few hrs!! anyway what is the price range there? if not more than $20 from imm maybe i'll juz buy from imm, nearer my house save the transportation.
  18. i guess the frame he is referring to is the bi-fold frame, not the door frame. the bi-fold frame can be attached to wall tiles, and bi-fold door reside inside the bi-fold frame. $180 for a bi-fold is a common market price i think. i'll post a picture of my bi-fold when i go up my house again.
  19. any measurements i need to take? coz i go imm they tell me measure from center of handle to center of keyhole, center of keyhole to side of door, and the door thickness. any other measurements to take care of?
  20. hi any shops u recommend to buy the door lock? went imm today, the locks pricing machiam made of gold one leh..
  21. haiz, guess you are not alone. although my door frames were hacked off, but my toilet installations also ko yak... glass shelf is slightly crooked, towel rack has 4 extra holes in tiles (cannot replace tiles as it might make matters worst although contractor is willing to, but might be even uglier).
  22. actually u can buy some wood putty, mix to correct color and apply it, should not be too obvious..
