So I remind him now and then to tell me the items that need money and I must give the go-ahead before he does it. *等一下 我没有钱给你啊 UNCLE!!* Everytime I hand him a cheque I will photocopy the cheque and write what it is for. Then I will ask him to sign for the cheque. He also very good, he will write his name,I/C no. and sign and date it willingly. I guess if your contractor seems very defensive when you ask him to sign for cheques then should know liao... should be up to no good... Every thing my family and I went to shop for it ourselves. Cos ours contractor he also no time to shop with us. We shop liao I make a copy of the invoice and give to him. Then I told him... if he want he call the people to deliver and just tell me when. I will go down and pay. If not he can also ask me to get them to deliver. I guess the big diff is that I am on block leave and can be at the contractor's beck and call for the sake of my reno. So that's really something else to consider. I know the rest of you busy busy very hard to keep such a close eye on renovations. It's a risk we all take ba.

WAH very long ah............... mmm it actually looks ok to me le. Just that since you do whole house can ask for some things free la like the acid wash and the labour to put stuff in bathroom. But that wouldn't make a dent into the 28k. Lots of carpentry so it brings up the cost wor. If over budget you might want to look at cutting down on carpentry? If not then... it does seem ok to me ba.

100 psf is ok ba. I've gotten 195psf somemore. for a premium flat with quite a bit done I think 28k a little over. Can we see the whole quotation? a lot of carpentry?

As I said... I went at 5pm just now to check on the progress of the house... hehe the Tiler Uncle was there. i was a bit pai seh that didn't bring something for them to thank them for their work. Maybe tomorrow then bring. Didn't expect them to be there still... Much more progress today!!! The moment I stepped in I saw... The hollow block to close up the last bedroom is ALL DONE! yay! They also managed to tile the master toilet wall. The gap on the right is for the mosaics which they have not delivered. Cemented the walls of the common toilet, getting it ready for tiling. The white tiles (which have finally been delivered) are in a bin of water just outside the common toilet. They also patched the foyer where one of the walls was hacked. Lastly my red tiles for the common toilet are finally delivered! So they can complete the MBR toilet and start on the common toilet tmr! The only delay now is that Hafary hasn't delivered my Italian tiles for the foyer. URGH cos my dad wants the foyer tiles to be in line with the tiles in the Living and the kitchen... those tiles have to be laid FIRST! which is why the workers are now stuck doing the toilets first... quick quick... gimme my foyer tiles!!!!!!

ya so when you sort out who you like.. shortlist a few liao then ask them what exactly are they giving you. then can compare properly. Like shower screens also have different kinds... at 4k i guess you're getting the tempered glass one BUT mustn't take for granted that it is. must always clarify....
