Wow nice windows! Must have cost a bomb!

today the plumber came to take a look and confirmed that the wheezing sound is caused by the faulty mixer tap in our master bathroom. So called Poh Joo and they said they will come and take a look tomorrow. If it is indeed their tap problem, they will replace a new one for us. But if not, they demand that we should pay them $80 to compensate them for their transportation. Reasonable?

Hehe congrats and welcome to the club if possible, do create a t-blog to post pics! -
After living in the house for ard 2 weeks plus, we realised these few problems: 1) There is a constant wheezing sound whenever we turn on the tap for the shower head/bathtub tap in the master bedroom. The sound is quite loud, as in can even be heard in the living room. I called Ho Bee to ask them to send a plumber to take a look and they suspected the tap might be spoilt. Said I need to pay charges for them to repair. 2) The water pressure is very low in the bathrooms, esp when flushing the toilet. 3) The electrician never fixed up our lights properly One of the lights (the one in the common room) dropped and broke when it hit the floor. Luckily no one was in the room at that time. The lights in the bathrooms and living room also look as if they are going to drop soon. So told them to bring the electrician to our house again to take a look. Hopefully everything will be fixed soon.

Get the glossy type of laminate for all white cabinets, easier to clean. Just need to use wet cloth to wipe clean. I have all white for my top and bottom cabinets in my kitchen and so far not much problem. But for solid top, do be careful cos white solid top does stain easily.

Yup we do put base coat before painting on the first coat of painting...is base coat the same as undercoat? Haha... Our painter applied the base coat for us...said will look better and will protect the wall also..

Haha yea...they have this page which is titled Shades of Whites...and all the colors in the page are white, just different shades...some are more pinkish white, some more yellowish white, greenish white, greyish white, purplish white...the list goes on! You will be surprised

After a few more calls finally managed to get through to someone who can verify for me that my refund has been processed...so asked me to call my credit card bank to verify whether it has really gone through... Another round of frustration ensues...the customer service over at the bank didn't know wat i m talking abt and they just put me on hold...happened twice...both times I was put on hold when I could sense the customer service officer started to become confused...and put on hold for like 5 mins no one came back to me so I just hung up...

really pissed off with ikea now...they took back my wrong sofa and supposed to refund me the money for that sofa until now hasn't done so...it has been close to one month le... when called the customer service like dunno wat i m talking abt..kept saying she not in charge of this and transferred me to a dead line...then when I called again someone picked up the phone and decided to tell a joke then started laughing to himself...I had to put down the phone and called again...then the girl said will check and call me back...when she called me back she said she couldn't spot the wrong item which I was supposed to get the refund for...

More and more woodlanders! I am one too Welcome to RT! Wich part of Woodlands is your hse at?

Yea I also had a hard time choosing colors last time...esp the one for my bedroom... At first wanted to use cotton white for most of the walls in my hse but then the painter commented that the color is too light cos I removed some skirting from the wall previously, so need a thicker paint to cover up the damages done to the wall. So in the end I chose Lilac White also but the painter mixed with white...cos if just use lilac white he commented will be quite yellowish and my husband wants a more "whitish" effect... I think it's not a good idea to get friends to do...cos usually will have dispute...like if u not happy wif their job u also have to accept and cannot complain cos it's free ma...so depends on whether the friends are really skilful or not...maybe go and take a look at their other painting job and then decide?

Hmm I dunno...for me I will ask for the tiles to be re-done...free of charge haha... It's more of a matter of principle for me...I mean if you promise me anti-stain then I should not see any stain there...whether it's 80% or 10%...if can see 10% stain then dun promise your customer as anti-stain... But then again my hubby said I am a bit too "calculative" for this kinda thing haha...sometimes should just learn to live and let live...but I can't stand going against my principle so I will fight for the thing to be replaced or at least rectified to what they have promised me... -
Yea IKEA steel really cannot be trusted, the one for my frying pan seems to start rusting le.
