itz certainly not obvious in the photos, that's why i tot urs is using those super high gloss white veneer. another forummer ask his/her ID to fix the black lines and they say they can paint over it but it cost quite a lot. But i dunno how the effect will be like....
-
for your white tv console, is it in laminate or veneer? if its laminate, is the joint lines very obvious? thinking of doing my tv console in white too but when house viewing, saw that those white tv consoles have very thick and black joint lines....

actually i agree that the roller shelves are problematic. i have them in my current tv console now and we dun pull them out at all, cos there is no need to, as u slot the cd/dvd/vcd from the front, and not from the sides or backside! unless u have those old school vcr wereby u put the tape from above. furthermore, when u pull out the shelves, the wires will be pulled out too and if the wires are not long enough, it will be disconnected from the tv or the power point and it happened before. And also after u pull the shelf out and the wires are pulled out too, it can get a bit tricky to push the shelf back as the wires are now "loosen" and so they will "bunch" up and cause a big mess behind the players. but really, in the first place, is there a need to always pull out the player? tatz just my opionion

Hi risis, we din go down balestier on sat and yest...went down to paya lebar and geylang instead...apologies abt it... the sales guy said that when it first came out, it was $900++....now its $800. thats before we haggle for discount, so u can ask for more. He added that many pple bought that fan because of the unique shape, but we dunno issit sales pitch anot. as for mounting on the wall like a windmill, yeah, the danger is there, so it must be mounted at a height or place where no one will be near it...or u must limit the speed to a slow speed... anyway, its too crazy to be on the wall...haha....but it will definitely be a conversational piece like ur bubble chair...

Hi Mitlancer71, we are thinking of getting Legrand switches too and hearing that its not that exp, we are quite relieved...can u tell us where is this Choo Kiang shop? thanks a lot !

i know the ID suppose to cover for us. In fact all the quotes that we have gotten have this item in the quotation. Some provide for free and some charge money. The ID that we more or less will engage is providing for free. But having said that, we went to this new DBSS flat in tampines during one of the visit to see workmanship and they only cover half the living room while the other half is exposed with sand, saw dust, nails and what-nots all over the place!!! we were quite shock! so to save ourselves the heartpain and $$$ to change new tiles or parquet, we rather spend a bit of money now and go cover the hse ourselves. In fact, we will drag the ID along to cover with us, to demo to him how serious we are abt protecting the current tilings and wooden floors...hehe

hi growler, where did u buy the commercial grade plastic sheet ? I think i better buy too cos i am not doing tiling for my living room, kitchen and all the bedrooms....thanks
-
i haven place my order for one yet...but thinking of getting this Emilia ....only thing holding me back is that the arms are rather thin instead of the thick kind....u can click on the link and take a look at the sofa
-
actually i also think dirt or soap "scum" will be trp in between the texture design...might be tough to remove or clean....
-
yeah, the shoe cabinet side only the display shelf is in tinted mirror and the settee's back is tinted. But the "backside" of the shoe cabinet is in laminate and tinted mirror. But I guess i shall haggle for the price to come down some more...

b-tap? dunno wat it is. Wall hung toilet is the one with no base. suspended over the ground type.
-
hmm..actually i have 2 ideas where u can place it....one safe and one super duper crazy. Safe: study room? super crazy: You have this WALL at the platform cozy area with the swing there, instead of a ceiling fan, it can be placed on the wall like a WINDMILL!...the fan baldes are not long...its short (but not super short), cute and stumpy...so it will look like a rotating 60's groovy kinda flower...hehe... but its crazy i know...but i only dare suggest cos after seeing ur layout, i guess u are bold and adventurous if i go there today or this week, i promise i get a photo for u...
-
ahhh...dun be upset....thanks for ur effort! its very appreciated... I think the description of the items not very clear....maybe i will attempt to clarify here and you all see if its worth it.... first, the confirmed layout B Foyer and Shelter Area 1 To design and install (est L6.5ft) full ht shoe cabinet with backing using solid-ply laminate/veneer finishing 2,110 Its actually a 5 feet full ht shoe cabinet with a small display shelve opening and the shelve's back and side walls will becladed in tinted mirror with the shelve's top in glass. The remaining 1.5 feet is a settee and behind the settee is not see thru towards the living room but a full ht backing clad in tinted mirror. In addition, the entire back of the shoe cabinet (2m long) is also a feature wall in laminate and 1/3 of it in tinted mirror. The design of this feature wall will "continue" until the box-up feautre wall of the bomb shelter. hence the feature wall there also clad in laminate and 1/3 tinted mirror. 2 To design and instal (est L4.5ft) ful ht box-up using solid-ply laminate/veneer finishing c/w tic-tac door at shelter area 900 3,010 With this design, i dunno if its overpriced, cos the shoe cabinet's backing is not facing the wall but is another feature wall itself... C Living Hall Area 1 To design and install (est L9ft) TV console w/ drawer unit using solid-ply laminate/veneer finishing 1,260 2 To design and install (est L9ft) full ht feature wall using solid-ply laminate/veneer finishing at console area 1,800 After comparing this with other quotes and the kind pple's comments here, i think i shall bargain with my ID on this item... 3 To supply grinding and varnish existing platform parquet flooring 100 3,160 Electical is not quoted here...but actually the ID quoted me electical amounting to $1270 based on my layout. But i am prepared to spend a bit more on electical after seeing Reiki Sanctuary with all her multiple power points; so kiasu, I like...haha All in all, ID gives me an discount of $800...so total cost (including electrical (initial estimate) is $34880.

Hi fondue, congrats on ur newly and nicely reno hse check with u, the $40 blum runners are supplied and quoted by Ah soon or u got it outside from some supplier? if so, may i know who? we wanna blum runenrs for all our drawers too thanks!

-
hehe..yeah...we tot we shld at least let u know....i trying to find a pic of it now...couldnt find....anyway...hope ur reno goes smooth... and we saw the ledge in ur master bathroom....for ur shampoos and shower foams? cos we are doing tat too
-
Hi risis, just an information for you me and wifey saw this ceiling fan and we thot it fits ur reno theme....all the fan blades are actually fat with rounded edges like a cartoon flower (dun how to describe but hope u know wat i mean, haha). I think the fan is made of plastic or some kind of acrylic...white colour...very bubblegummy... we saw it at Lite vault in balestier. its called the Bubble Fan...but we forgot to take photo.
-
yeah...agree agree...hmm...i think then i better not trouble u to dig out then....u got to monitor ur own reno too...but thanks anyway....
-
alamak...grossly ah???....this is so sian...do u think I can trouble u to extrapolate an amount based on the length of my tv console or feature? thanks ....

Any advice, anyone?
