  1. @paraman Maybe it's good you put up or pm the pricing you get? Btw, do they have Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Inverter System 3?
  2. That is nicely put. This one is really baffled me. Do I look like this ? I think we won't choose this contractor. I feel the quotation is too absurd. Don't want to waste energy/time for both sides to negotiate it.
  3. We just received the 1st quotation. I guess we definitely need to cut down on some items. I just want to ask some questions: 1. Is the cost of hacking so expensive until S$1850? 2. Is the cost of PAINTING kitchen cabinet make sense? 3. Need to replace kitchen/2 toilets with s/steel pipe? 4. Cost of plumbing toilet bowl + tap + mixer = $150/toilet. Seems expensive. 5. I still have to pay the cost for them to clean up after reno? :S 6. He never include the kitchen counter-top. 1. To supply labour and tools to Hack and Dispose: a. 2 x Bath room’s wall & floor tiles,WC / basins S$1,000.00 b. existing TV console, children bed & study table in Bedroom 3, full Bed Set in Bedroom 2. S$850.00 2 Haulage and tiles delivery from downstairs to work site S$200.00 i. Painting 20pcs of existing Kitchen cabinet doors & 4pcs drawer door. S$1,900.00
  4. When will you make purchase? I am interested to join you in the list but my installation would only be possible in march. Is it possible?
  5. I wouldn't mind a PM for contacts to buy the water heater
  6. May I know what is good about Compact 707?
  7. Although, it's a nice arrangement but the buyer must be careful. There is no paper signed. There's no black over white. If the seller suddenly refused to sell/come/sign in the 2nd appointment, what would you do? You could sue him, etc. etc. But is it worth it? I am also in the same predicament as you but it's better to be safe than sorry. Eight weeks is quite long but do you want to take unnecessary risk?
  8. Any gas smells so far ? How often have you changed the battery?
  9. I thought citygas would be a good solution for warm water for my going-to-be-place. It's neat because you only need to have 1 heater for 2 shower points AND not based on storage water heater. Luckily I did a check on the forum.
  10. Before I say my 2 cents, I need to emphasize something. "I never meet him nor engage him. This is purely my opinion." I am looking for contractor my flat (and still looking). I have Jason contact and email. So, I emailed him the quotation template, floor plan and other details. At the same time, I called him and sms him to ask him about the reno works and quotation. So far, the response is very disappointing. I have sms-ed him, emailed him and called him but he is really too busy to reply. I understand that he might go back late and no time to reply, etc. So, he kinda forget about me. My point is that Jason might be very good, understanding and flexible. But if he can not manage his time and project well, what is the point? It's nice for him to ask the painter to paint the bedroom so the owner can have a place to sleep in. Yet, think about it. Isn't that his fault not to be able to complete and manage the project? Providing the owner a place to sleep is the least he can do. So, what I am looking from a contractor? Good WorkmanshipReasonable PersonPrice is reasonableComplete the work on schedule (with minimum delays if it happens) As much as I want to engage Jason from UBreno, I'd rather. Not because his workmanship, attitude or price. But he's way too busy for my house.
  11. Maybe you can post the renovation works and people could advise which one you can don't do/postpone/must-do. Most probably you could remove the built-in furniture works and I think the kitchen is still in good condition too.
  12. Anyone can recommend a reliable electrician with reasonable price?
  13. I also need his contact. Please help to send
  14. Erm ... definitely no. I am looking for contractor for my own place.
  15. Cool (y) Remember to take pictures of your house with full of its glory
  16. Wow ... so all complete? All seems ready to go.
  17. Interesting setup. Why do you suggest non-inverter? For my case, I would be thinking system 3 Inverter (2x9000+1x12000). Have not decided on the brand yet. But most probably will get inverter.
  18. I have just met 2 contractors over the weekend. One of them did a reno on my fren's place. They are quite friendly (since we haven't pressurized or made any strange requests yet, if any. ) I have tried to contact Henry from I.D.Note or Jason from UBReno. I am disappointed with their response. I called/emailed/sms but none of them get back to me. I know they are busy now but I told them my reno would start after CNY. At least they should called me back or something? On the other hand, if they are already too busy now, I wonder when I engage them, would they be able to delivery on schedule (with give and take several days)? So maybe we won't engage them after all. After I get the quotation, I would summarize my findings
  19. Panasonic Aircon Price from Best Denki (before bargain) Model: CS-C9JKZW x3 (CU-3C20JKZ) Inverter System 3 (3x9000 BTU) $3299 Inverter System 3 (2x2000 BTU + 1x12000 BTU) $3399 The sales remarked that Panosonic ones is newer than Mitsubishi ones. Mitsubishi is easier to clean but some people feedback that because the flaps are removed often, it doesn't fit nicely and would give the flap sounds after sometime. @joschia In every aircon, they listed down the power being used in a year based on X hrs/day. You can use it to compare.
  20. I love the tap for your sink. May i know how much and where did you buy it ?
  21. Glad to see that your renovation is going to complete. Please take some pictures for us On another note, is the delay incurred due to contractor (Henry) or due to unforeseen circumstances? I am still yet to meet any contractor to decide whom to choose
  22. @Supersimon27 ... Thanks. We even thinking to put some full-height mirror on the Dining Area side to make it perceived even bigger PS: I could be joining the henner club soon. Yet to see him and other contractors for discussions and quotations
  23. @limmike, no idea about the exact cost. But when we window shop @ best-denki, the price of system 3 Inverter between Panasonic and Mitsubishi don't differ much (less than $400 difference). But again, I am not sure about the quality
  24. Thanks, I will do that. Are they contractor or an ID? I still don't really understand the Eubiq products range. Their website is not exactly helpful. If i get off the shelf, I can only incorporate the power adapters? I saw that Eubiq can include data but most probably I would not use it as my data. I would use Wireless-N as no budget to install gigabit LAN for the whole house. I guess u have a point. That's why I am eager to get any quotation back so I can adjust whether the reno works.
  25. @Thank you. She is an architect so can do Interior Design. And her current work also deals with design. So, she takes over the design role.
