  1. Just realized paypal could cover you for up to USD2000. That's really a big sum. Btw, nunu is now the proud owner of Scooba 335 no news from her so far, I hope the robot is serving her well
  2. I have a Dyson, never need to maintain until the dust is really full.....but it's very heavy....that's what my girl has been complaining. Just started venturing into Roomba, got a 550 from ebay, see if it would reduce my housework or not hehe...
  3. my living room is >4m wide. I think I calculated wrongly hehe...guess 60cm should be fine, coz my TV can twist at certain angle for different viewing area, I was also too kiasu to cater extra for bigger TV in the future..... Applefreak, mind sharing some picture of your TV console? Where do you get such a long depth TV console? the speakers is LCR 1 piece from Mirage, can't be separated one, even if they are separated, the center speaker still have to be placed at the center....
  4. aiya, of course lar, you went to the "designer" place, confirm very expensive one.
  5. While shopping for my TV console, I realize I need 29.5" (75cm) so that my TV could swing left right without hitting the speakers stick in front. having tough time shopping for TV console
  6. we went to parkmall to shop for bedframe and mattress. There is this shop at 3rd floor selling a very nice bedframe and give free mattress with this particular brand. Everything in for $1700. the mattress is not a common size, the length is 2m actually. Just wondering if anybody tried b4. The auntie told us that's the launching price.... it's a queen size bed similar to this kind of design:
  7. giving up on custom made, the price is way beyond budget liaoz.....
  8. well, how much would it cost you to buy a robot? aiyo.....dun need to be so risk adverse for such an item bah.... I always buy from ebay coz I always got them so much cheaper compared to anywhere else......so far only encountered 1 stupid guy who kept sending me stuff without informing me. But at least it's better than missing stuff....
  9. usually the take up rate is 50%, that's the statistics, and applicable to all numbers. It doesn't mean people with single digit Q number would choose their unit. there are many reasons that a couple decided not to take up any offer, maybe break up liao, maybe financially not allowed, maybe they die die want top level......actually HDB shall review all these stuff b4 granting a Q number, that would save some cost (and hopefully the price of the house would be lowered---> FAT HOPE!!)..... Last time we have 3 blocks to choose, 2 types of units (facing north/south and facing east/west). Our Q number was 60 and only < 30 units were taken up when it's our turn. There were a total of 87 units to choose, still manage to pick up 20+ floor, which is our ideal unit
  10. why aren't you trust ebay? I have been buying so many things from ebay. Scooba, Roomba, SRU9600, Spyder2Express, my wireless adapter for rear channel speakers etc etc.......from a few dollars to a few hundreds dollars. You're protected by Paypal, I dun think there is anything safer than that, for internet purchases.
  11. waliew.....AirDivision.......d@mn ex ex ex ex ex...... Scanteak also have old teak, but the color of old teak is quite dull....that's the problem with design sometimes... Anyway, just showing some examples between young teak vs old teak from Scanteak..... vs price difference? > $600........
  12. if you're using transformers, both PSU and the transformers will not be cool even when no electricity is drawn from iRobot. Are you using a modified version PSU or got hold a piece of local PSU? I dun mind to turn it on if I have a 240v input PSU...... As for optimizing battery....different people got different saying leh, some even says it can't even last for more than 8 months..... frostyflake, it's up to you to design how you run the robots. Not the other way That's the fun part. Both of your proposal works, as long as you are happy...
  13. hey guys, I'm wondering if there is any local shop selling curtains' hold backs like these: any idea?
  14. cookie, why do you need to always turn on your psu? Since it's almost impossible to schedule a Scooba....are you using it everyday? Even for Roomba, there is no need to turn on 24/7 what? just use a timer to give it 3hr charge b4 your schedule would do the job right? a lot of energy wastage for 24/7 u know? what you talk about rating, are you talking about total power eg 80W or the max Amp it can produce?
  15. hi hansolo, I think we could continue the discussion here for others' benefits. I'm using the transformers but would love to modify it for normal current. Besides the power wastage on transformers, would it really cause harm to the battery?
  16. yah, it's solved long time ago, we didn't pay anything and they did all the necessary replacement and readjustment. However, one of the laminate skirting's color faded very significantly due to the morning sun....
  17. Hey dude, didn't get my MSN? lol! nunu, just replied your PM and sms you too!
  18. Super 80W i think around $20 or $18. nunu, you keen to take over my Scooba 335 (Scooba 340 equilvalent) which is about 2 months old? I think I need a bigger capacity one.
  19. i think you cannot hear 1 person story to just condemn universal adapter. There is absolutely no supporting document for such PSU to spoil a battery, unless he/she got a spoilt battery at the first place. I'm using transformer for my Scooba, Roomba hasn't arrived yet. It depends on your usage pattern I guess, so far Scooba's battery life is longer than expected on my side......
  20. what kind of bad experience you heard? care to share? where did you get your 560 from? btw, for the benefits of others, here are the 5th generation roomba comparison, 550=560=570, just the accessories are different:
  21. how much did you pay for it? I got a 550 for USD250. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...rksid=p3907.m29 most probably you have to mod yourself liaoz.... dennyon, I can't find a suitable universal adapter for Scooba, it's using MIDI kind of plug....
  22. Pioneer is destined to die off, with that kind of attitude of not reducing manufacturing and add that to consumer. It doesn't mean non-pioneer panel is no good. The newer generation is always better than the old one. I dun think I want to use a 4th or 5th generation Pioneer Plasma, they are worse than any cheapo plasma on the street now OLED is still not a matured technologies. If not done properly, its dead pixels can really kill......I had experienced it on my mobile phone b4.....d@mn disappointed to the technology. with credit card payment, you can also go neighbourhood store. Only 2-4% extra on top of the cash deal depending which card you use, and how long you want to deal with the installment plan. TV is not just about resolution, Full HD, regardless Plasma or LCD, will produce not so good image on SD sources. Unless it's giving full 480i/p or 576i/p, it will look quite bad on the full HD panels. Well, Plasma will still look slightly better than LCD especially in this case. The closes PQ from LCD that matches the Plasma.....although still quite far from it, is the LED backlight LCDs.....very very ex....de neh....
  23. If it's Q or P series, yes, C series is not so good.
  24. should be, but 380 quite ex one de neh....need to change water once lor. Is your house flat throughout? Coz it won't "climb" like Roomba. From what I see, it's hitting very hard coz the bumper and the sides all scratched liao menz......dun think it would break anything lah.
  25. i have been hearing people talking about the Jam after Mr.SAFE run away. But everytime I go back JB, I never tio leh.....
