Some invited guess did not even turn up. Anyway, this couple've "prepared" such, so everythings swee swee, the children now already call me uncle. We are living in a multi-races society with many religious beliefs, this "pressure" is not that obvious. Back to your questions: I observed most of reno workers are Malaysians & they've to make a living too, if there're jobs for them in 7th months, still work!. But most chinese, due to this "pressure", avoid this & that, but situating is on the "improving" - even got fsms "standup" and declare moving in 7th month is ok. Very interesting case. The main question is: Can CPF board rejects owner's request to release fund due to developer is being sued by creditors for winding up? I think, unless there is something wrong in the form submitted and right timing, then CPF board should bear the consequences of those 10& interest, S&P cancellation, 5% forfeit & difference for seller's next pty purchase. Your lawyer said not yr fault? It looks like. Better serve a lawyer letter to cpf on this & get a formal return from them asap.

I've so far in my life come across ONLY 2 church friends whose houses have no TVs. One of them with all nyatoh wood benches, flooring, no chairs! Singtel's then Chief Lee SY's house also no TV, but got big satellite disc. Now HDB units are compact, with no so many ppl staying together, as compared to 20yr ago. So, human traffic is not an issue. I read pictures u sent, ok lah, no harm putting the sofa near main door, tv facing sofa. Yr one same as my FIL's, he is staying alone.

Strongly not suggested to buy this in view of fs. Swords, cutter shaped, collect dust easily, cleaning will affect the gear, take sometime to figureout the number= may read wrongly the hr & minutes.........Anyway, to each his own.

Hi, your messages a bit "sour", but realistic. 3 months are quite lengthy & along the way, quite tiring to prepare house for viewing. Agent secured targeted price and being turned down due to "personal reason", laymen like me really cannot understand why invite all these "troubles".

What I meant is: his "performance" on the reno works "no standard" - no quality o/p as compared to those old birds who has been doing & repeating daily. The tools are quite a concern. I plaster/sanding/painting/install lighting/modify power pt/Trunking/...Got great sense of achievement/belonging by doing all these. Too bad, I took the "Golden Eggs" and sold always the "Golden Goose". 2 Gooses have been sold, up to now.

Give $$ to the one who you feel like giving, you may engage him/her next time. - Be psychrologically prepared, most reno workers are Malaysians.

To stress, just my opinion, welcome any "arrows". 1. Living hall is meant to be active, lively, members get-together, communication..... 2. Sofa/seater is always best to be placed against wall, give ppl a "secured" sense. Another concept: "General sits behind" - place yr sofa in such a way that viewer can always "oversee" the main door, not the other way round. Same concept for office arrangement. 2 things: "Backing" & "Oversee". Worth mentioning here, I'm still finding evidence as to directional(N,E,S,W) effects vs the 10 heavenly stem & 12 earthly branch and the sexagenary cycle (60 =one cycle)when the heaven & earth meets together = 1 cycle = 60 years = 一甲子

If not mistaken, the "strata" concept was "copied" from Australia, each condo has a Plan number. The "town council" concept for HDB don't know copied from where, anyone care to enlighted? My was from Allgreen, confirmed no "detailed floor plan with dimension". A detailed floor plan with dimension is only good for asking quotations here & there, other than this, no use at all. You have to try all ways & means to find out when the TOP is obtained - When you see the workers start planting glass/flower/tree = pretty close. When you receive letter from lawyer firm informing you WHEN to collect key already "too late". Anyway, reno is quite minimal for condo, unless you knock down this & that. Carpentry works take quite sometime. Avoid reno ~2 months before CNY, take this advise seriously, hope other forumers can answer this, to make this thread more lively.

Realistically, cannot do work with only 2 bare hands. To do a good job need TOOLs. Need $$ to buy tools. After work, tools all throw? Or borrow tools to do work? Or display at Sungei Rd for "after-work" sale? I asked this question because I kept so many tools in my store room. Personally, I do not quite believe in this "door vs window" issue. This concept holds that "chi/qi" cannot be retained within confined space, like home, or like someone standing in the open field with all wind "crossing". TCM & Taoism theory holds that only living things generate "chi", not non-living thing. No "chi" = no life. However, in term of fs, it seems all, whether living, non-living( 5 element, color, shape of objects, etc)or even spiritual stuff produce some kind of "chi". Very cheem indeed, till now, I'm quite confused as well, can only try to sense the "chi" by our human physical 5 senses & feeling. Anyway feeling is fundamentally influenced by our value system. Layman defines wealth as $$$, this is a "narrow" definition, wealth in wider term can mean many things, like health, peaceful state of mind (happy, calm, contented...), good relationship with different circles of ppl, etc ...... If one is really to go after $$, I would suggest him to study & master the 16 principles of 陶朱公(tao zhu gong), all the 12 "DOs", classes are being conducted at NUS on his priciples as well, & produced another 12 "Don'ts". Hi Juspink, today is friday, got lighter mood & just to keep this topic lively, hope you do not mind I put some comments: - A friend of mind in bedok reservoir rd, has the similar layout except the staircase & kitchen swopped position. Have been to his unit quite many times. - The entrance is perfectly alright, i don't think need any divider, cos the dinning area is rather dim all time(common corride window shut), need some improvement on natural light. - Upper fl's common area also rather dim, cannot do anything. - Try make use of the space below staircase.

Many relatives in different floor/units, cannot comment "bad" thing abt neighbours in the lift, got "spy". 6-20, 7-13, 5-20, 24-25 flrs, may be got more, yet to find out.
