good effort! my 2 cents: u might want to focus more on food instead. Toiletries and daily necessities are much cheaper over at chinatown, compared to the big supermarkets.

$100 is more than enough to get a temporary mattress la... no need to sleep on floor... live and let live... and enjoy the new bed. -
Hi Gimz according to the HDTV recommendations; the recommended viewing distance for 50" is 2m! "Viewing Distances based on Visual Acuity: These distances are calculated based on the resolving power of the human eye (reference), or visual acuity. The human eye with 20/20 vision can detect or resolve details as small as 1/60th of a degree of arc. These distances represent the point beyond which some of the detail in the picture is no longer able to be resolved and "blends" with adjacent detail" huh....2metres... *slaps forehead* hahah.....

this kinda set up is more suitable for bigger flats in my view. as this will effectively segregate living room area and dining area (unless thats your intention?) it also depends on your flat, i.e. where does the light come in from --> front door or kitchen? u may end up with a "dark" area if you segregate living and dining area. lastly...i think this kind of set up is not very child proof... i would think the pole system is better left for wardrobes actually...

What's The Purpose Of Feature Wall With The Tv Console?
gimz63251073 replied to fongfamily01's topic in Carpentry Works
for asethetic purposes mainly. Make nice nice of course not cheap . Another reason is for visitors focus on a specific area when coming into the room, i.e. focus on the good things. Definitely not a necessity, a good to have. -

Stainless Steel Kitchen Top
gimz63251073 replied to axx's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
the so called "stainless steel work top" is actually wrapping a stainless steel sheet over wood, i think it different from commercial kind, which is all stainless steel and shorter in length. Carpenter dealt with wood only, so had to source for s/s from his frens. Price is ok, cheaper than contractor price. becos of the s/s worktop, we cannot do undermount of sink. So as long as the sink and hob is properly siliconed, water will not go into cabinets. As kiasu people, we painted oil base paint on the exposed wood before mounting the sink and hob for extra protection. by water, i mean water marks. After washing plates, have to quickly wipe dry the top. If not it will leave a water stain there. However, it can be polished off, depending on how dilligent you are. All in all, we are happy with the top, my wife's dream come true. Extra effort (5mins) by me to polish the top never fail to bring a smile to wife's face. So yes, do go ahead if you really like the look of it. -

I think store room no need to laminate ba...can save the money and do a better one for bedroom. laminates are coated with protection on top only, raw wood on the sides. I also thought of using it for entrance but was advised against due to the exposure to water, sun and dirt. I checked with the staff at floor option before, they say they will not cover warranty for laminates put on the steps.

U can actually insert this, easier to view. Uploaded with ImageShack.us i think it would be extremely squeesy for doing business....moving in and out of that area would not be easy. maybe u might consider shifting out the basin for MBR, afterall too small a basin with no storage is not good. For extending of kitchen, my floorplan is exactly like yours. we extended 1metre inwards. I feel that anything more than that, we might have trouble storing fridge/washer/dryer. The kitchen is lovely, if i have a chance to do kitchen, all lower cabinets would be drawers, so much easier on the back. More drawers more expensive, but i think it would be money well spent.

For one, i would be. Reason: real life case vs ur theoretical paper talk. He walks the talk. From what i see, he is sufficiently covered. 20% downpayment as cover for any drop in property value and has spare cash/stocks on hand. Also, he has a hdb for family, provide shelter for his family no matter what happens to him. Covered more than enough areas financially already. I realised he did not mention savings, which could be another safety buffer.

becos they cannot earn from it mah. drop by SP services at somerset, got sales person there.

i see...my apologies. many contractors will simply tell u thats some things are lousy and psycho u to get other things if they do not have lobang for it. For instance, if you listen to contractor and get instant heater, he can charge u: - electrical point and switch for heater(s) - installation of heater - buying of heater By letting u get a citygas heater, he earn $0. ok, i shall try to write a review with pictures for citygas heater over the weekend. Hope it will help others to make a informed decision. Will cover as much as i can.. For the kitchen wall tiles, usual options: - hack and relay whole kitchen - hack the relay exposed parts - hack and screed whole kitchen. - spray paint over exposed areas (no more dirty grout!) Grind and plaster, not sure how long it will last, plaster tend to have crack lines very fast.
