  1. not sure if i'm going OT but need to check with u guys.... do ppl do silicone sealant these days? my concern is, do ppl do silicone sealant where the s/s sink and the laminate/granite/solid countertop join?? if not, would there be gaps n hence, water can seep through?
  2. sounds good....i managed to get a quote from Jack too. Thks for the contact Btw, do you have contact for your parquet polishing guy? we intend to do that too. thks so much
  3. however, i must honestly attest to this personal experience....apparently my parents bought this Techno chimney hood at 700m3/h n since they always do daily chinese cooking, each time or rather every few days or sometimes even, each day, we realise tat drips of oil will occur n drop from the hood onto the stove.... seriously i tik this issue is not really abt cleaning cos they clean it so frequently....i tik it's also not abt the brand of chimney tat u get but of cos diff brands have diff kinds of technology for extraction blah blah....it could seriously be the issue with the power of extraction...esp if u r going to anticipate cooking rather frequently like say 3 or 4 times a wk....
  4. hi Tweetie74, the alpha fan u said above is for how many fans? or just 1 fan for S$450 incl. installation + delivery?
  5. DPSK, u got tis quote from Best Tech rite?? if not wrong, the above price would include 5 yrs all services + parts guarantee as well too rite?
  6. u noe ar, toking abt the ventilating ducts thingy....it's really strange tat brands do offer chimney hoods n all but then, for hdb flats if u use those, it would be useless or rather, same as slimline hoods since there's no place to 're-vent' the oil n heat?? is it true ar? i mean, if tat's the case, then wat's the point in getting a chimney hood wif 1000m3/h?? tat's really strange leh....but understand tat if u get from poh joo....rennai shd have pkg which is reasonably priced? honestly, not too sure cos i didn't check out rinnai myself... btw, anyone getting or alrd got franke hood + hob?? if so, any comments??
  7. oh, there's 1000m3/h extraction hoods for Fujioh?? checked from their website previously but can't seem to find it....which model u guys intending to get for the above? can tell me? thks
  8. erm, i tik it's not tat simple for oven i suppose....quite different from dishes....where u use soapy water to wash them clean... frm my experience, even if there's a roasting tray for u to allow the sauces to drip there, the sauces will inevitably splash onto the walls of the oven....sometimes, even if u just gently clean ur oven with a damp cloth, it's prob quite hard to clean it properly....some stubborn grime still gets stuck there... if u use pyrolytic ovens which makes use of charcoal to oxidise the grime n all, eventually u just need to use a cloth to wipe all the 'burnt' off dirt n grime after the pyrolytic cleaning process...it's diff
  9. not sure wat kind of quality fabric frm Turkey would be though...but i've managed to get a quote from a curtain shop in Causeway Point...told me for 3 bedrooms (roller blinds) and 1 living room (double layer curtain) for S$1700 to S$2000!!! however, for the same kind of selection (roller blinds + curtain), my gf got hers for abt S$960 from her contractor... not sure if i'm helping u in any way at all
  10. btw, for catalytic and pyrolytic cleaning ovens, here's how the functions work: Catalytic cleaning involves a coating, which is applied to the oven cavity. The catalytic liners work when the oven is heated to 220ºC – and residue is oxidised. There are limitations. They don’t clean the whole cavity, it’s dependent on where the liners are placed; the base is enamel and the door window is glass both of which still need to be cleaned using household cleaners. Pyrolytic cleaning is the best method of cleaning as it cleans the entire oven including the base and door, requiring no other household cleaning products. It is 100% effective and extremely easy. It works by burning off grease and residue at high temperatures of around 500ºC. Because it uses heat it can reach into all corners, cleaning every nook and cranny in the oven. All you have to do is simply wipe away the ash and your oven is left looking brand new. There are other positive spin offs – better energy efficiency and reduced running costs when the oven is in use, you will get cooler touch doors (generally 4 panes of glass instead of 2) and the oven will have a better cooling fan. If you are looking for a pyrolytic cleaning functioned oven, do check out french ovens like electrolux, brandt etc etc as 70+% of the built-in french ovens market is pyrolytic.
  11. kitchenmatters, check with you sth.... would it be ergonomical to place the oven directly below the stove? i wish to save space and place it directly below the stove but worry that if both stove and oven are being used at same time, would it be good? any advice?
  12. noobhouse, it's the one along the main road of amk ave 8 there....if amk ave 8 is on the right, u need to turn left to go in towards furniture HQ...somewhere there, u can see the AMK Courts as well
  13. JinnGin, we went to jb over the wkend....tried to find the bathroom n kitchen accessories shop in jb...it's pretty far from customs (could be cos we went by the woodland checkpoint side, nt sure?)...but seriously the price difference for the accessories is not really huge... can enquire where u get the furniture from? cos we do realise tat getting furniture from jb is indeed alot cheaper....we went to carrefour there...enquired with a furniture shop there....their delivery charges, installation + 7% GST is only charging ard RM300 in all....tat's really decent pricing...

  20. hi wolflet, can check if it's true tat if u have a storage heater, u need to pour away excess water in the storage tank for the day if u r not going to use water anymore? tis was what i heard from my frd
  21. hi genetan99, can check with u ar...ur instant multipoint electric water heater u managed to fit into the backyard or it's supposed to go into the common toilet n master bedroom toilet each? cos i also bought a unit at Pinnacle n trying to figure out which kind of water heater to get? *scratch head*
  22. on top of tat, if u do have aircon ledge for ur house, u might have to check n see if the space on the ledge is sufficient for 2 compressor unit....if it is, yes u can put it in...
  23. for those who have yet to buy their aircon and wish to have 4 units of aircon n r intending to get system 4, do remember to consider if the system 4 aircon BTU is sufficient for ur aircon....usually ppl would recommend getting system 3 + 1 separate aircon unit unless u dun mind just turning on the aircon for ur living room and the rest of the aircons will remain untouched at tat point of time.
  24. hi fftw!! i'm gracelourdes from myhometown forum....glad to see u here you r very detailed as well as your contractor too....hehehe... just wondering if u r going to do anything to hide your bomb shelter. I guess S2 owners will not have tat much of an issue compared to S1 owners who r having bomb shelters right smack in their living room. Seriously, wonder how practical their building designers are really....geez
