If your fridge does not have a base, just get your ID to design extra cabinets to fill up the space. Is it possible to relocate your fridge elsewhere? It's common for fridges not to have bases now. Mine does not so that I'll not be restricted by its size when I need to change to a new fridge.

All White Theme
summerflowers replied to qiqi's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
My ID discouraged me from using Light and Space too. He said touch-up is not easy. Cannot just paint over a particular area. Will see a patch. To touch-up is to repaint the entire wall. This will use more paint and therefore more expensive. It will require additional $300 just for the ceiling alone on top of the paint job for the whole house. So I listened and drop the idea and settled for just normal white paint. Initially, I wanted a very bright white ceiling. For those doing white theme, are your curtains all white and creamy too? What kind of variation of colour or fabric do you use if you deviate from white? -
Yup. It's normal for the rack to be lower than the counter top when you have 2 ovens. Else, if you level with your counter top, your top oven will be inaccessible. Oven will give out heat as they are electrical appliances. More or less the sides of the cabinets will absorb some heat. How much ? It depends on the make and quality of the ovens. As fridge is an electrical appliance and need to dissipate heat too, I don't think it's advisable to place it next to your oven. It's the same as the fridge should not be next to your hob too.

I used to have a Sharp too. Panasonic's has inverter technology. My sis is using an LG.

Their price tag are just a listed price for your guide. I always ask for the actual price from the lady there. Quoted price is always lower than listed. I got a number of items from them too. Their pricing are indeed competitive!

I love my Dyson too. It's good looking enough as a display.

250 degrees is enough. You can bake a pizza at this temperature. Baking cakes are usually at 160 degrees and cookies and muffins at 180 degrees. It is important to get a microwave cum convection oven with a large capacity. It enables you put a muffin tin in or roast an entire chicken effortlessly. Get those at 40/42 litres capacity. Panasonic, Sharp, and LG have these sizes. Grilling is possible with these dual ovens.

Did they give you an invoice on your order? If it's stated clearly that the total price should be $550, you can refuse additional payment. If they insist, you can go to CASE for dispute settlement.

Catalytic panels need to be replaced regularly, I was told. Like a yearly thing. Get the pyrolytic one instead.

I boxed up my toilet pipes for $600 in both common and master bathroom. Yours include service balcony. Sounds reasonable to me. -

My 2nd Tiny Little Home ~ Duplex Apt @ Geylang
summerflowers replied to vermilion's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
Since you bake most of the time, fabric sofa is ok. When doing reno, it's good to make an effort to take of your things. For example, locking them up in a room that you're not renovating. Of course, this is not foolproof. Things may still go missing. The best way is to install before you're about to move in. -
Maintaing Privacy For Corridor Units
summerflowers replied to osangga's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Split your windows into 2 parts, top and bottom. The bottom part is smaller than the top part. Have frosted glass for the bottom, and clear or tinted for the top. You can keep your bottom window closed while keeping your top open. There will be free circulation of air while maintaining your privacy. -
Miele Or Dyson Vacuum Cleaner?
summerflowers replied to preciousmoments's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I've never used Miele before, but I like my Dyson. Bagless vacuum that I use everyday. No loss of suction. No issue with it at all. -
I vacuum my sofa with a special vacuum head. Maintenance not difficult at all. And comfy too. Around twice a year , I remove the covers to wash.

Where Can I Find Such Kitchen Racks Besides Sim Siang Choon?
summerflowers replied to Reno145's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
Whichever you use, I find it practical to have pull-outs for lower cabinets. Easier access to your stuff. -
It can be installed horizontally. I've seen it before. But there will vertical grilles on strategic spots if your window is very wide. This is to stabilize the grilles. In my opinion, the vertical grilles look better.

This can be found at Poh Seng Hardware. 153 Jalan Besar. $160. I got it anyway. Cannot resist the idea of a neat waste bin on the counter top. There is a plastic bin included which is not shown in the pics, therefore the edges of your plastic bags will not show. When it's dirty , you can hose it down, as there is a drainage below connected to the water pipes. Seemed easy maintenance for me.
