bro! *high 5* my hubby swe*rs by gas heater too... he always complained about storage heater esp when we went back home for CNY. My parents' home uses storage heater... can you imagine running out of hot water while bathing in a cold winter night... my hubby was so traumatised LOL why oh why our area has no city gas......... for electrical storage heater, once the water is heated until set temperature, heating will stop so won't consume anymore electricity. but when the water cools down the heater will be on again... anyway, in Singapore: Electrical tariff : $0.24+ per kWh Gas tariff: $0.17+ per kWh sigh -

I read about this in renotalk many times, remember many say it works with rain shower... there is one recent forummer using it (really can't recall) but didn't do much research since my area has no gas anyway you can do a search... there is one whole thread on city gas heater. -
Neighdor Downstair Complain Spalling Ceiling Becoz Of My Reno
marshmallow replied to seamonkee's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
no. i didn't pay a single cent for this maybe you can check the HDB letter again. in my letter, they mentioned specifically about kitchen and both toilets ceilings. so my contractor only do these 3 places... though my contractor did tell me that their whole house also CMI... hahahaha whether they make further arrangement to make good other areas, i dunno. -

some pple get it, some dun... i think it depends on the neighbour too.... if it's already ill-maintained, then very likely to have problem during our reno... -

i've also received letter from HDB for same kind of complaints from my downstairs neighbour. in the letter, HDB already made it clear that it's the contractor obligation to make good. My contractor just told me he will settle everything. dun worry... this is quite common for old resale flats.. there is nothing much to fight about -

too bad you dun like gas, else, will be good to try city gas heater - apparently can use with rain shower also. rain shower uses more water than normal shower heads... a bigger tank surely will be good. -
i would love to take your offer but.... no time liao! > < too bad, hubby will be my guinea pig hahahahaha (anyway, think he is well-prepared ) i told him he must approve my budget for mixer cos i need to bake him birthday cake.... hahaha think i will start looking at mangoes liao... in case there are no good mangoes around, i can think of contingency plan...

hahahaha oops sorry if you're the kind that like to take long shower and let the water runs continuously throughout the whole shower, then get a bigger tank (25L?). of course the trade-off will be longer heating time..... then alternative is city gas heater... see, only 2 choices now -
wah this is definitely not minor touch up.... actually you can install the hanger anytime in future. a few hundred bucks is ex but this is one of the few things that my hubby approved the budget immediately without thinking

it's just enough for one person.... so need to wait for the water to heat up again before the next person can bathe. come to think of it, we should have gotten a bigger one (20L maybe?) but then again, the heating time will be even longer... really get stuck in this situation my previous place uses a 30L heater for 3 pple... perhaps you should really give some thought on city gas heater... no waiting time, constant temperature, no concern in electrical loading etc etc....... -
btw, anyone has good mango cheesecake recipes to share? plan to make one for hubby for his bday next week......

PRADA hotel... hahahahahaha they give shuttle bus to TST becos they know their location is bad! not near anywhere! there is one newer hotel next to the Citistore but it's very small! There are 2 buildings full of ah beng handphone shops near the MTR: Nam Fung Centre and Lik Sun Plaza. Nam Fung is the nearer one - right next to the MTR and has those small food stalls. just added a Come Buy bubble tea stall to the collection

wah better check with your electrician... doesn't sound good! Bro, 15L tank, but my heating element is 1.5kW only . Heating up a temperature difference of around 45ºC so it will take slightly longer. my calculation matches the actual heat up time quite well i personally feel 20 mins is short leh... hahaha... maybe becos i've been using storage heater since young, and learned the good habit of "plan ahead before shower" from my mom for all you know, you'll meet someone that stays in a big hosue in town area....... -
Hdb Abolishes Sibling Scheme
marshmallow replied to neubie's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
i think that will fall under the "Orphan scheme", not the "sibling scheme"..... btw, thanks bro neubie for keeping us updated with property news -
i used to have a whole room of manga books... back in hostel days, my friends came to my room daily to read comics, like library hahahaha now only my favourite ones sit in the storeroom, while the rest gave out to frens when i shifted out from hostel.......

hey bro you were the one that PM me on this hanger before rite for your info, it's very easy to pull up and down. definitely better than bamboo sticks actually really no skill required. the only thing you need to take note is to pull the string straight, not slanted at an angle.

or does BunBun mean is it worth to get an iPad just to read manga....?

hey bro, thanks for illustrating the points clearly. that's why i mentioned before that the sum in OA needs to be significant enough for it to work. it's an individual choice to whether pay off the loan earlier or to put some money aside and take larger loan. the choice should suit the individual goals. My case is similar to your example Case 1. We choose to park the funds in OA becos we would like to have some funds ready for purchase of a 2nd property in future (well, if possible....). if we wipe out OA and pay shortest tenture possible, is much harder to accumulate the funds again and we may not be able to enter the market when the time is right. should we decide not to purchase 2nd property later, still have the choice to make lump sum payment to HDB and pay off the loans with the accumulated funds.

marshmallow replied to May_dream1's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - HDB BTO Interior Design and Renovation
hahaha... if all your appliances are purchased according to HDB rules, maybe you can still complain to them about power trips. but if not, dun think they will entertain any complaints... or do they ever entertain any form of complaints anyway? -
how can this be possible?? i thought ikea stuff all comes in standard packages?
