I want to know the following a) Before marriage - i own a hdb - property tax - 4% b) after marriage - i co-own condo with my wife (wife is first time owner of condo) - therefore property tax is still 4% c) plan to buy a 3rd pty - legally i will be consider a 3rd time purchase. But my wife is consider a 2nd time purchase. Therefore is stamp duty at 3% or 6% now ? d) also plan to buy a 4th pty - legally i will be consider a 4th time purchase. But my singaporean brother is a 2nd time purchase. Therefore is stamp duty at 3% or 6% ? Question is what is the incrementally rate if i buy with family members who are not affected by the stamp duty rules ?

Hi Dave You know, the more i read the forum (other topics) with pictures of "different" sofa set, it is difficult for me to differentiate the different type of sofa. I would like to post some picture of my current sofa bought few years ago. I would like your honest feedback on whether it is worth then. got another question a) my sofa - there is a hard label tagging that shows the company name (not local retailer name) - is this practise in the industry ? b) is our wallets leather (male or female) - same leather type like those premium sofa ?

here is my take now. I agreed with all the headache, after all, i am just a consumer , not a specialist in led. All i need to know is a) LED is in in the long run, like it or not. Everyone knows the advantage, etc b) which biz do not out-source to china ? ipad design in california, but production line is in china. c) agreed with statements made by bullet-proof. But want to add one more thing 1) LED technology changes. Say today i got this LED brightness at $x. 5 years down the road, it will have better brightness, but still cost $x. In another words, it is like intel chip improving its performance at the old same cost we paid or lesser ! I suggest getting a professional to go to your apartment and let them take necessary measurements and proposals. Then after that, go to their shop and detemine the brightness that you plan to buy. As long as it works, who cares right ? No need to save every penny since you buying LED, you can never win the industry since most of us are consumers. All you need is to get 2 or 3 professionals to quote you and then take one of the lowest quote. Period.

i agreed with you on singaporean mentality. That is why i will not buy cheap goods. I rather buy a excellent one and use it for rest of the life. 1. What should be the minimum price of a real full grain leather sofa ? 2. There isn't any 1% of retailer here in singapore that really sell the real stuff ? Perhaps the industry should stated that "the sofa you buy at most last 5 years" ...this way customer won't feel cheated and they can then depreciate the leather sofa over the years.

oops justs to add-on : sofa got no problems at all. Still comfortable without wear / tear. I raise issue here is because the more i read the forum threads on sofa (eg on the EL thread), the more discerning i am, on how the industry work. I therefore consider myself that i met a reliable retailer then. What is a typical life-span of a real full leather ?

I bought 4 year ago Invoice said "full leather" And they also attached a booklet of the Italian sofa product which i bought 4 year ago, something like the booklet said "congrations on getting our product thing " and further describe how to protect sofa, how to see the leather texture, etc. the booklet represented the sofa i bought. Is that an assurance from the industry practice ?

haven't got time to go youtube... so all those face reading / palmistry all BS ? i mean it cannot say anything about future, compare to bazi which have different years of changes ?
