we had the same prob when it rained few weeks ago. Water leaked into our MBR under the aircon trunking. We'd thought that it was the aircon installer's fault. But they came, inspected and concluded that our wall's gone - HDB's problem. They covered the crevices on our outer wall with silicon. Since then, there's no more leaking even when it poured. Should it start leaking again, we've to call HDB.

My father-in-law just got a quote from this electrician who's doing his 3-room for $1500.

If you're very particular 'bt noise, esp. when sleeping when you're in your bedroom, DO NOT BUY SHARP AIRCON. We bought it as it was highly recommended by the Gain City's salesperson. But little did we know that it's super noisy - when it's switched on/off, and when u increase the fan speed. The noise is like airplane taking off! My spouse could not take it and complained to Gain City twice. First time they came and inserted rubber btw air con & aircon frame. Result - not as noisy as b4, but still can be heard. Reason for this - when the manufacturers tested the aircon in M'sia, it was on the ground. They didn't know think that the aircon will be installed in high-rise buildings in S'pore. Second time they came and inserted big piece of cotton foam btw aircon & the board on the wall. Result - not as noisy as the 2nd time, but still can be heard. Reason for this - all inverters all like that They asked us to test the aircon at night (when it's quieter) and if the noise is still bothering us, they'll ask their Boss to come. I told me spouse to just forget it la

The Hitachi's serviceman came. Apparently the motor blade was spoilt - a very rare problem, according to him. I asked 'bt the yellow circle to which he said it's actually quite 'useless' cos it's not accurate, since the tub is always swinging around & not exactly in the centre. We're still under the warranty so it's FOC.

Home & Furnishing: The Kitchen Cabinet Story
booksntoys replied to cornetto's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Our customised shoe cabinet - a compartment for long umbrellas & bags, drawers for keys & knack knacks, storage under the seat for roller blades & accessories, and of cos, storage for shoes. We didn't have to worry 'bt the door knocking & destroying the cabinet cos the contractor has considerately fixed the door stopper at the cabinet's skirting. -
My bedroom doors - solid veneer and my storeroom door - hollow veneer My kitchen's top-hung solid timber glass sliding door. Chose the colour to match my inner room doors & my living/dining furniture. But now sort of regret it cos the colour doesn't match the kitchen cabinets & dining room wall painting Sliding door when opened as seen from the kitchen

Our painter quoted me $1300 (using the top-end paints) for my 5-room flat. He's very nice, reliable & responsible. Whenever I pointed out spots for him to touch-up, he'll do so willingly till I'm satisfied. Anyone looking for a good painter, do PM me

I see a bubble? it's at the side of the red circle. There's another smaller circle in the middle of the red circle. But it doesn't move. The bubble seems to be "bouncing" or "movable". So that's the problem?

Yontat is supplier for doors; not contractor's price. Maybe your main door's fire-rated? Gotta pay few hundred more for the fire-testing by Govt body (can't rem name) We definitely got the same tiles prob. Our kitchen wall tiles are white too - also uneven. The cut tiles in our toilets (not white) have jaggered edges too. Lousy workmanship cos the tiler could have placed the jagged edge on the side where it'll be covered by the bi-fold door frame. BTW, i've posted pics of my place at Fencer's blog. -

Oh dear Few days ago, my washer started to produce 'ta ta ta ta' sound when it turns to the right when washing or spinning And we did not send out the guarantee card within 7 days of purchase! Wonder if the warranty is still valid? My hubby was angry & said that we shd have bought LG instead!

Ei, i tot yours is 4room? Mine is 5room, so layout shd be different. U see the pic which shows 4 doors? The storeroom is btw 2 bedrooms. Actually i think my contractor ok lah, just tat the tiler screw up the floor tiles lor Dunno why, till now the contractor has not asked for our final payment of bt $2k plus. Maybe he's forgotten? Hahaha...keeping fingers crossed
