  1. chin chin ely, *hugs* like everyone has been saying, you have made it into your home - a special place that cannot be found from looking through design mags or IDs sample pages. VS ah? hahaha you can buy fitflops and pjs from there, which are soooooo not what men would figure from watching the annual VS show .
  2. if you are interested to know more about washing machines, there are many threads here to read through - http://www.singapore...s/409/409.html. note that you need to know the capacity of the actual drum and not just look at 8kg or 7kg, etc eg. an excerpt from one of the threads - actually for the question on 8kg is very big.. seriously speaking the 8kg of brandt.. isnt really that big.. cos of the volume of the drum...something like..57 litres... for 8kg.. this as compared to miele 6kg thats 55 litres. and electrolux 8kg as 63litres.
  3. LOL we drafted it out, sent it last night but not a peep from them yet, very disappointed once again. Perhaps I will have to deal with that GM locally after all. *sigh* Why/ what did you have to deal with halia? You were the last to arrive la, as if we would know you were some glam goddess in high heels. i think if you as a person love reading, you will definitely cultivate that love in your child/ children. All my mum did was to surround me with books, read to me, bring me to the library, etc and I am still a bookworm though I now limit myself to chick lit and stuff i am interested in. For my older one, he wasn't interested in reading when he was younger but we always had books in the house (we have a mini childrens library at home) and one day the light just seemed to switch on and from then on we always made it a point to read to him as part of his bedtime routine, now he cannot do without it and he even self memorizes parts of the books. Errrrr are your bro and sil physically ugly people? why would they need to worry about that, besides can always have plastic surgery, hah! Although I certainly agree with their thinking and see it happening with my older son but looks are definitely not everything and no point having a Shiloh Jolie Pitt if the character, behavior and attitude is spoilt rotten! adi, thanks for your concern. it's still there, doc mentioned that nails take 3mths to grow so it may take 2-3 cycles of medication to eradicate. no updates of the house design cos I was giving mae time to finish my FS report, I have just asked her earlier today and she said she will give it to me this weekend so will talk to my ID fella again once I receive it.
  4. i donch know about the almanac thingie, ask mae? sorry to hear about your travelling, the hb is also going to be doing alot of that in these couple of mths and hopefully wont clash with our hdb appt dates.
  5. yes we are in the process of drafting a letter and will be shooting it off to them soon. i like what polished does and the luxe of royale retreat a normal girl? i didnt remember seeing a normal girl when we first met Hmmmmmm why ? Because we really dont have space for more of his crap and bad mummy here has actually been over buying for him to the extent that ie he doesnt even bother with the new toys that i got him just 2 days ago. Anyway that gives him something to look forward to and have specifically for the new place, and most importantly he needs to learn self control and patience la!
  6. sorry maxey, couldnt see the forest for the trees so to speak ps remember we already had this convo way back after we all met at may dreams? you really need to give yourself credit where it is due and be gracious about accepting compliments
  7. on a lighter side, my older son has been insisting we have to renovate and move to our new place because we bought him a car display set from Tomy on sale a couple of weeks back and told him that we can only open it up in the new house. I so wish that can happen sooner too but unfortunately not till the end of the year la.
  8. ely, we just posted simultaneously on each other blog. thanks for the recommendations, i dont normally go for such indulgences but went to Bliss because I was already with them for my waxing and they ARE supposed to have high hygiene standards and the prices certainly reflect this but the GM failed in her handling of my situation and i'm very disappointed to say the least.
  9. Ely, FTW!!!!!!!! nice cosy balcony and i spy a not so little cat having a siesta on the table. ps can i hire you as my personal decorator cos the only things i know how to decorate my house with is a mess
  10. always nice to see progress photos. And surprisingly ikea mirrors are quite good for the pricepoint. I've been using a normal ikea mirror for years in my bathroom, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/15302600 - similar to this type but with wavy sides, low maintenance and easy to clean with just some soap and water. Of course the edges do corrode but it's acceptable for the price tag and easily changed too.
  11. Got a toe fungal infection from a pedicure at Bliss and the GM is putting the blame on me instead of accepting responsibility when she should have from the start.
  12. lol shifting it here instead of replying on csingeu's errrr i always joke that my hb was snatching the cradle but hey i am the type who doesnt believe in a relationship dragging on for too long without something changing; ie get married or break up, no offense to you since i know how long you've been dating so after we dated for 4 years, 2 of which was LDR, i told him either we marry or break up. we didnt have kids till 5yrs after marriage anyway so it kinda worked out in the end. i love how this sums relationships up, http://wongfuproductions.com/2011/04/strangers-again-new-short-film/ make sure you dont only get a good photographer but a good MUA too!!!! dont want to look like some unfortunate OTT drag queen :Dlike i mentioned before, you're NOT MARRYING OLD!!!!!
  13. yeah that's much better and less tedious like you mentioned congrats on the low cov, have more money for your reno as it seems that you will prolly need to re-do everything. i think the only toilets that are bigger for 4room are those 4A type of flats, everything else has miserable toilets but at least the rooms are a decent size compared to the newer flats with bigger toilets but smaller rooms (and everything else)! really dont know what these people are being paid to do at hdb
  14. it says 6/14/2011 1:53:47 AM Firefox Denied: http://h1.ripway.com/zorae/toilet_tiles.JPG (analysis using the database of suspicious URLs) http://h1.ripway.com/zorae/toilet_tiles.JPG URL found in the database . prolly something wrong with their servers big time then, in the meantime you could always use one of the others, imageshack works great for this forum i find.
  15. when the opennet guys came to install for my current place last year, they were more than happy to run whatever could be done through my existing trunking and then install the rest themselves. perhaps things have changed since then with new rulings in place to cover opennet's backside after unreasonable customers :rolleyes:good luck anyways!
  16. welcome to tblog zorae, you need to upload your photos on a photo hosting website like http://photobucket.com/, http://imageshack.us/, http://www.flickr.com/ etc and not load them directly from your computer cos we wont be able to view them. that has caused all of them to pop up as malicious objects on my kaspersky
  17. what has wedding photos gotta do with having or not having a wedding la??!?! mutually exclusive, i say 150% go for the photos. people having babies, dogs or even a fling are taking photo packages to document memories, what more for a wedding which is a once in a lifetime thing. i had a photographer do some journalistic style photography wedding photos which was quite a new thing way back when i got married 9 years ago, lol yah married long time liao okay, too deep into aunty-dom i think csingeu is resigned to us women hijacking his thread liao, lol
  18. lol ely, that's an old pic but never fails to crack me up. i do like the hello kitty one, totally would suit one of my silly cats since he is such a total pussy. i know what you must do when u come visit my place, CLEAN for me....
  19. congrats on getting your keys joyous!
  20. hey hey jumpstreet, things look really nice. sorry for my late welcome to t-blog. enjoy your stay in your beautiful home!
  21. ely, your parents dont see you as for sale cos you're priceless la! better than my in laws who offered some ridiculous low amount that my mum didnt even want it cos she also view me as not for sale since i am priceless to her, lol lol adi, i totally did the same thing as joyous except we had our rom at the rom place then held a small tea party on the sat after that. i totally didnt want the tea party but my mum said for family's sake so, that's done and dusted. all i care about is my diamond, hahaha oh oooops and my hb of course
  22. ok i will have to go look at my new block when the time comes to see if i can do the same, thanks and good luck to your application
  23. your welcome!!! glad to be able to help , you can try to use embed this image instead of embed thumbnails then we can view the actual photo here instead of having to click through
  24. welcome to tblog. i think you have to convert the pdf file to jpeg first before we can view it. also you can click on the embed this image option and choose forum to get the correct links to post on the forum.
  25. thanks queen & duchess. Actually I am totally undomesticated and useless with housework (read lazy, lol), it's my mum who is the domestic goddess and these are all for her or at least we try to accommodate her preferences and want to get as many gadgets that will help make her life as easy as possible with having to look after all of us. She initially wanted the Rinnai Schott glass gas hob but I noticed that it has a very odd measurement so replacement may be an issue, which we notice tends to be the case with MIJ items, it is more expensive than the Brandt and De Dietrich is out of our budget plus she didn't like the placement of the cooking zones so we went for Brandt since we've had an acceptable experience with Brandt and FagorBrandt has bought over De Dietrich. We supposedly get the same technology for less and also we've had bad experiences previously with our Bosch washer and dryer thus we didnt want to consider Bosch at all. You already know why we're splurging on Miele eh Adi, dont make it seem like we're always used to such luxury copying from my post on your blog eg. in 8 years, we've had to change 2-3 washing machines and we didnt even stinge on them; bosch, fisher & paykel (or something similar) and finally the brandt is still (barely) holding up so we've gone and upgraded to the miele package for the new place and they better be worth it or else we would be As for the dishwasher, we dont have a maid and she doesnt want one either so since I dont want her to be doing dishes all the time, though we fought heaps about this as she doesn't feel it is a necessity but I really hope it will make her job easier in the long run rather than be a white elephant like she thinks. Of course she can subvert my best intentions by not using it at all and still washing by hand though i really hope not I'm also plumping for an irobot but am waiting for the budget to allow it.
