Materials That U Regret Using/ Installing
sleek replied to st002's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
no regrets as it is completely necessary to open up the LO of our current place, to let in light and for air circulation, as glassed-in kitchens were not as popular & much more expensive when we moved here 8 years ago. However we will definitely not be doing an open concept kitchen for our new place as it is impractical for us doing cooking everyday and with 2 boys running amok. We currently use a child safety gate to keep them out of the kitchen. on reno t-blog, there are people who seem to love their open concept kitchens as young couples in their first home, but not sure how it works out for them in the long run. -
i have been visiting daily but nothing to comment so been it is good that you can cut down on your reno costs . I am trying to do that too with all the lurking around here and doing research but with 2 growing boys, I would rather spend more to do up everything now instead of having to do things in bits and pieces over the years so not much choice. I think my reno may be equal or more than yours, my mum's reno friend still havent get back to us with the quote so I've asked my mum to go him for it.. hahaha to hear about TOTO!

Kobe, i also agree with the others that your reno is cheap but not everything else... LOL that rinnai hob alone is equal to what some people pay for hob & hood anyway i think i am going to get this bathtub cos it is cheap and then I can definitely afford my expensive rainshower!!!! whats happening on the toto WC research? I'm sure there a couple of us waiting for your rackey news

i really really like your floor laminates but my new place has marble flooring so will just be polishing them up as everyone advises. You have done a good job with the L shaped design!

maybe if you had a u-shaped WIW, then it would be more spacious and better storage. but like some of the others say, time to give more of the clothes away perhaps? heheh -
hi lady r, congrats on your smooth progress. can i check with you on the bathtub you mentioned in kobe's thread; do you have a photo of it, issit built in or free standing and is it this co, http://aos-bathroom.com? Thanks!

May, thanks for posting the wonderful wonderful photos of your place! Even though you are in the midst of packing you have made time to take and post them. I think we're all that you say you have not enough space for your clothes in the WIW we are all over! all the best to your continuing moving in! -
hi ces, i went down to imm serta just yesterday and was told by kelvin this 20% bulk buy promo is over but they currently have a 10% off with free stuff like 2 bedsheets, 1 mattress protector, 2 pillows & 1 serta sheep thrown in so you might want to call them to inquire.

welcome to t-blog. it is good to upgrade to one closer to town & most importantly nearer to family, most of us have to move further away from town when 'upgrading'

OMG, i went to interior affairs too cos i thought they are just a normal showroom for de Dietrich and such kitchen appliances and want to peng san at the prices for their kitchens (supposed to be some special modular system? cannot remember the term now). After i keep asking for the average price and the salesman refuse to tell me, he mentioned just 3 basic cupboards they recently did for a customer is $30k!!!! can pay for a whole house reno, so after talking so much to the saleman (i blame him for not being upfront about the cost, lol), i told him, thank you we cannot afford it and will just take a look around the showroom....
