My plumber is from my contractor leh, so I dunno what is the rate, cuz it's all in my contract. How about the people from whom you bought the fittings?
-
Thought you just moved in before CNY? How come need to change your fittings so quickly??
-
Just a thought on the living room TV console... where are you gonna put your DVD player, PS3, Wii etc etc. It seems like the ID has not allocated any storage space (at least not visible lah).

I didn't see your clock there, but there are others lah. Since yours is perfect, then you won't need another. The stocks there are quite irregular, it's like one of those shops where they just bring in some items once and don't restock on that again, those kind. But the last time I was there, they just brought in the Newgate clocks and it was a decent selection (enough for me lah). So your mileage may vary. I didn't realise you're in the west (but that's cuz I didn't ask). I know the area very well. My in laws live in the HDB estate in Bt Batok that is closest to the Toh Tuck area and I am just 5-8 min from Toh Tuck as well.

Rottenramone is also crazy about apartment therapy. JS, saw your clock above and it just remindeded me - Newgate Clocks are now carried in a shop called "The Good Things" in Clementi Mall. Not the full range though, but a good selection. Where is your condo by the way??

If it were me, I would get around 2.4m. Cuz if using only 1.6m, so there is 0.8m extra, if I centralise the plastic sheet, it's only a 0.4m drop on each end. Or you can get 2.3 or 2.25m so that it just extends over the edge. They are quite cheap. $3-4 per metre is on the high side, but it depends on what kind of thickness and quality you want. there is usually a few to choose from. You will be able to find it in the hardware/everyday goods shop in the town centre.

Do you want a non-stick one? (On a sidenote, what is the opposite of non-stick?) For non-stick I think Tefal is still the best. For normal non- non-stick (LOL!), I use WMF. It's a bit on the heavy side but distributes heat properly and lasts. My mum had her wok for 10 years and still working perfectly fine. Are you looking for bakeware, or baking supplies? For baking stuff, you can consider http://www.tottstore.com/ in Bt Timah. Not cheap though. For baking supplies, the most wellknown is Redman/Phoon Huat. They also sell bakingware as well. http://www.phoonhuat.com/

Can also go to Ghim Moh, Commonwealth Crescent and Bt Merah hawker centre/markets! And in addition to hawker food, Dempsey, Rochester and Holland Village are also a short distance away!

I am doing laminates for all my bedrooms too. Yeah, I heard the stories about water... think cannot have pets, cuz if pets anyhow pee and we don't know...die liao. Imagine if have kids... kids anyhow pee, or pee overnight, how?!

1067 should have the same features as 867, except that it is the newer improved model. Something like comparing PS3 vs PS2. But I have only seen Rina Electrical stocking it... the rest are still selling 867.
-
I agree! They really celebrate it as well. When we visited the Crystal Design Centre, there are so many smaller shops selling their own designs. Imagine it being a bit like the Far East Plaza for design, except that a lot of it are original, rather than imported from elsewhere.

Maybe can become Singaporean next to increase your chances during balloting! *all said in jest, so pls dun been offended*

Since mummymantras is a freelance writer/author, just wondering if you are an English teacher? My besties, one of whom is an english teacher, the other, an editor, always point out errors in spelling or wrong words or words that don't exist.

I can't wait to see phase 2 of your renovation! Must continue to update your blog! This week is completion of plumbing works and painting. I can't wait to move in... but looks like I will only be moving in in mid-Sep thereabouts.

If you want a big fire, can consider the Rinnai inner flame models. Those models have good reviews for having a strong flame. The tempered glass and metal frame model is 2CG/3CG and 3Si, respectively.

The pole for your fan must be v v v long! But I totally like the idea of putting in a fan in the balcony... It will encourage me to hang out more in the balcony, otherwise it would have been too hot!
-
Have you completed your renovation yet??? Seems like you are more than halfway through!
-
adidaem, the quote for my electrical works is posted here, there are unit prices there which you can refer to.
-
How come your house got so many beams! These beams cannot hack right??? But I actually really like your kitchen tiles. Very mid modern century. If you were going for the mid-modern century or retro look, can consider keeping them.

Welcome! I think it really depends on personal preference whether to reveal price or not. In some cases, it is because some items are gotten cheaply as a one-off (eg. project overruns or display piece or slight defect) or at a good discount (Eg. staff discount), hence prices are not revealed so as not to put the sales person or the T-blog owner in a difficult position. If you want to know the price, definitely can PM the blog owner. Most will be willing to share this way.

Ah, thanks for sharing. I *knew* Foundry is a stockist of &Tradition's products and are listed as so on the &Tradition website. So I emailed them and left them a message on their FB about the lamp. But they didn't get back to me! Oh well, it's their loss then. But great lamp nonetheless. I've been looking at the stock pictures online, but wasn't really sure how it would look so in the end gave up purchasing it online due to the uncertainty.

Question for discussion - What type of curtains should I get for the mid-century modern living room? I really like roman blinds, but I think it doesn't go with the mid-century modern look. I like roller blinds for the "clean" look, but I think it is too plain. I like the venetian blinds in Defelio's living room. Normal day/night curtains seems a little too grand and too classic with the gathers and the tiebacks.

You got &Tradition's Megabulb!!! :sport-smiley-004: I was eyeing it for a very long while, but in the end found a good alternative. (Wasn't sure if it was available in Singapore, cuz I first saw it online) Where did you get it? How much did you get it at? Somehow the lights you have shown so far and the shops you've been to doesn't really seem to "gel" with the 3D drawings you ID has provided, esp for the living and dining areas.
