  1. You can consider the V56K instead? Your ID will be able to advise if the fan is too big for the living room.
  2. Frankly... other than the obvious ones at the stairs and the TV console area, I cannot see the rest at all... esp since it is white on white... What caused the grooves?
  3. Wah... you have a very wide range of models being considered. First of all, I think you might want to decide between (1) What are you using it for? Are you going to do massive roasting in which case a self cleaning model will be useful. (2) Budget. How much do you want to spend (the models you quoted range from $600 - $2000) (3) Self Cleaning (Catalytic or Pyrolytic?) The Bosch 331 and Brandt 811 are the lead-in models for Bosch and Brandt respectively. If you are only going to do simple baking, these models should be more than sufficient. The Bosch 23A is a partial self cleaning model. Only the back panel is a Catalytic panel, the sides are enamel. This model is going to be discontinued, hence the promo. The Brandt 867 is a full pyrolytic self cleaning model. I can't really explain the different between Catalytic and Pyrolytic, but if you do a search you can find a lot of information on it. I dunno about the La Germania as I never considered it.
  4. You can get it in this shop called Unlimited. Very old school tile shop in Whampoa area. Your contractor/ID should know them. Edited to add - found the website. My ID got my subway tiles here: http://www.unlimite.com.sg/
  5. Better to know now than when they have finished everything and present you the final bill with all works completed. Hope you get the issue resolved to a more reasonable sum...
  6. On the ICI palette - I think the aquamarine you're looking at is Pacific Blue. A lighter version of Pacific Blue would be Marina Blue.
  7. Queenstowners, wanna check. Does Meiling Street Hawker Centre have any stalls which open at night? Or is it predominantly open in the day time only? My fav market in that area was Margaret Drive, but closed already. My fav fishball noodle stall has moved to Meiling Street! I also highly recommend Ghim Moh market!
  8. If anyone is looking for a built in oven, just to share that Bosch is having a promotion on HBA23B550J, which is going at $900 thereabouts (+/- a little depending on which retailer you go to).
  9. ID can absorb the electrical costings meh? Cuz I thought electrical is engaged separately and ID don't usu get involved even if he is the recommended by the ID themselves?
  10. Don't get so worked up lah. Those who are so **** on their services don't deserve our business anyway. But I am also looking for a vertical wall for my balcony. Care to share what is the quote for yours? Do you get to choose the plants? How is the maintenance like??
  11. I think Joven is the most popular storage tank heater here. Have you checked out Universal Union in Geylang as well? Quite a good range there too.
  12. I gotta shut up now. No rainshower for you??
  13. Some pictorial update... MBR bathroom - very "safe" choice. The common bathroom one is incomplete in this picture this is without the grouting. Couldn't find a completed one with the grouting done.
  14. Er, think the German-made range are def not cheaper in China. Never found imported stuff cheap in China, unless they are not real to begin with. kekeke.
  15. Yesterday, we prob made more decisions about how the house will turn out than any other day. Armed with the swatches and colour charts, we decided on - Our laminates for our kitchen cabinets, shoe cabinets, bay windows, (We forgot our vanity counter =.=) - Kitchen counter top solid surface - Our wall colours - Out kitchen, shoe cabinets and wardrobe layout (Again, forgot our vanity counter =.=) We also FINALLY finished our shopping for our bathrooms (took more than 1 month and countless trips to Balestier, Jln Besar, even Bangkok!)
  16. If you are in China and don't mind the China made range, can check out Kohler and Hansgrohe as well, as some of the cheaper range of both brands in Singapore are from China.
  17. That was my thought when I saw your choice of dining table and the Porte sofa (does it come in a dark wood stain - I thought I saw the darker wood one in the showroom). Resort tend to lean towards to the darker wood stains, while what you've shown are the lighter woods, which are def more scandinavian. I think Scandinavian look def has plants as well!
  18. Yup yup find out about the shipping charges first and remember to add 7% to the total cost of item + shipping, cuz Singapore Customs will tax you 7% for importing the items.
  19. No, we didn't get any furnitures in the end. We wanted a armchair/ottoman, but was concerned about the space, so decided that they can wait until we have moved in. But all the items are really nice. Prices vary. Some items are quite reasonably priced, others are at Sg prices. Our biggest item was a light fixture which weighed like 10kg. Made of glass, we originally intended to handcarry, but airport staff say cannot. So our total baggage was 50kg! Thankfully we are on a full serviced carrier and not a budget one. We bought mostly lighting - downlights, table lights, pendent lights, ceiling lights, some bathroom fixtures, some cutlery/crockery and some decor stuff.
  20. So the Malaysia 56" is not the same as the one in Singapore? I bought my Baby Fan and 56" both at Kong Tai. $160 and $360 respectively. Good prices, better than what my bathroom supplier offered. Since you know about Kong Tai, why didn't you buy your appliances at Kong Tai instead? Did you get a discount at HN?
  21. yet another site we went to was a large compound of furniture and furnishings stores. the crystal design centre located on the outskirts of lat phrao is really the one stop shop for furniture. lights, tiles, bathrooms etc all under this compound. if u've ever been to woodbury common outlets in usa, this would be it. they have a wide selection and some shops carry the usual high end brands like vitra, magis, kartell etc. prices are the same, so shipping it here is not a good idea. but they have other cool stuff as well. i regret not taking many photos as we spend the day walking and browsing. didn't get much from this place. i love this table screen is midcentury awesome too www.crystaldesigncenter.com
  22. yes the halogens in the artemides are a whopping 300watts each! i checked on an led replacement but couldn't find any. rr
  23. If you are looking for 6 inch rough in, was advised that need to wait for about 2 months for it. Thankfully, my toilets are 10-inch rough in which is widely available.
