  1. found 2 new pets this morning....another baby lizard resting in my blanco sink, and a moth resting on my bath towel
  2. yup you are right. it does not cover renovation damages, usually the contractor will cover that. i was just worried about any accidental fires, and since we pay contractor up front, i do worry about it. anyway, $70 to buy peace of mind is not so bad. the funny thing is that mine covered any damages to windows, irregardless of how it was damaged.
  3. can u PM me too? i just bought 2 new lights over the weekend....heehee. p.s. so did you hire them in the end?
  4. i more KS. bought before renovation. even had an email from insurer confirming that renovation works is covered as well.
  5. hi sunsetsky, oh dear....i forgot my electrician's name, and hence i cannot locate his number on my phone. SOS....any one that took my electrician's contact from me, can u repost his information here? thanks a million.
  6. i am anxiously waiting for the results!
  7. you reminded me of my adventures with my washer. whenever it was in the washing mode, it looks like it is "Dry-washing". i can see the clothes flipping inside the tumbler, but i can barely see any water inside. thinking i had bought a lemon, i even invited the brand technican to come take a look. ended up that this is how the 4-ticks washer works. even in rinsing mode, it uses about half the water that a top load washing machine would use.
  8. lol...same as me. i've not cleared the paint stains on my windows yet. we are very patient people huh....
  9. even time i go ikea, and see people picking up those useless pans, i feel like going up to them and say pls don't buy.....hahaha.
  10. ya...i threw them away after a week. go to the exchange corner still need to q and wait. easily will spend 1/2 - 1hr just to exchange a piece of crap that will rust again.
  11. go to SHUNDE. it is the biggest furniture city of the world.
  12. i can't remember. the laminate name is brazilain walnut though. there are 2 textures available, one is the rough type (which i have chosen), and the other is the smooth type.
  13. when there is only 3 humans in the living room, 18k BTU is sufficient. when there is 10 person inside on a hot afternoon(which is the norm nowadays), the 27k will be very handy. and yes, any ceiling fan will be good to circulate the cool air around. i had a super low ceiling which makes me not want to have a ceiling fan, so i used on of those turbine fan circulator with a long throw, and that is good too.
  14. how can my sunflower continue to bloom so nicely without fresh air and light.... heehee....just some update shots of more DIY in the recess area. both the shoe cabinets on the left and right of the main door are painted to the wall color. i was mildy surprise the the nippon water based paint actually bonded pretty well with plastic and foil.
  15. dunno also. the lift is like 12m away. and my door is only 2 meter away from the stairs. they so ks until they need to wall up my recess.
  16. sad to say....you cannot control your upstair neigbors not to do any major business. you may still have a whiff whenever they flush a big one down....but that really depends on your piping plans.
  17. that does not mean i cannot vote no mah....must vote and put it on record.
  18. it was a silent OP from 1am to 3am for 2 nights. lol. i placed the plastic sheet protector, but i think it did not help much. miniature paint spatters can be seen on the tiles. i was thinking of repainting it white, but after i heard the news, i am reconsidering since it will be torn down.
  19. dun have la....you think my $3000 so big. can get new lift landing, new walls, new doors, and throw in another set of windows....heehee.... ya. agree, it will be stuffy in that 5 sqm area. can u imagine to come into my house i need to push thru 2 fire rated heavy doors.....
  20. the good news is....HDB is not going to "OPEN" a new door at my balcony area. i would really hate that spot, since i will lose the "balcony" feel with a door over there.
  21. just got the lift upgrading notice from HDB. part of the plan is to replace all the grills with new walls, as well as a new fire rated door. Hence, i will lose my windy smoking area! dunno whether i will vote for or against. having walls make the area more like a storeroom/shoe-cabinet room instead of a recess area.
  22. congrats....soon you will be smelling the new house smell in your sleep!
  23. sorry it was me who must have refreshed your page so many donkey times that i'd caused you to exceed the bandwidth.....
  24. you never point the HDB officer to refer to the reno permit in the front of your house meh?
