I wanted it just for my small foyer area to contrast with my living room tiles. I was considering these for my floor too, and my contractor also strongly discouraged against it. You can pop down to Carpenter and Cook at Lorong Kilat. I think they have used these as part of their flooring. And also at Bugis Plus along the stretch with the Korean fried chicken restaurant. These places can probably give you an aged simulation of the effect at your home since they are rather high traffic zones.

So I guess it depends on how much you really want wood laminated cabinets. Hi, I've observed that Scandinavian wall prints can be as simple as just stripes and triangles, and really random ones like a scanned picture of their hands! Maybe to incorporate both Scandi feel and your own touch, you can buy a canvas or wood block from Art friend, use masking tape to randomly create a pattern, and choose colours you and your husband both like and paint I've seem them use potato cut outs to create random prints as well. I believe the above picture could work Just for fun, I like the prints by seventytree on Etsy.

Hey, I understand how it feels. I also tend to get stressed over creating the feel I'm after for my new home. But like how my husband always berate me, ultimately the most important is to make it feel like home. There are things that may seem out of place, but when you see it, it makes you smile and has the "that's so me" feel. Anyway, like mandj said, it's work in progress and you can shift the deco around as you settle in. I think the overall feel is there already As for the paintings, you might want to consider something more casual? It seems that geometric/typography prints are very popular in the scandinavian blogs I browse. I think they might take away what you think of as resort feel? I fully understand the wish that workers take off their shoes in your house. I also cringe when I think of dirty shoes walking on my new floor. But if we think about it objectively, does that not compromise their safety? I think it is SOP at all workplaces that shoes or even safety boots be worn when moving heavy objects. And our homes happen to be these people's workplaces.

Well I think the most important point is, no matter who was the "right" person to do the job,as long as they have accepted the job, then they have the responsibility to commit to the agreed terms and do it well. Love these tiles! From what you see of the laid tiles first hand, do you think it will be suitable for the living area? Did you get coloured grouting to match the tiles? I've been at the tile shop a few times just to "bio" these tiles but they are so expensive!
