  1. Welcome ladygeorgette~ Hope to see more pics soon. Have a smoothsailing renovation! , Mike
  2. Hahaz... Wellz got more time for you to decide also maybe more ideas will come too Anyway pole system not that dirty la as long as got proper cover Oh also the same Black columns are there too at the kitchen/master bedroom wall - cannot hack~ , Mike
  3. Condos usually can conceal. But it's best to check with your management if not a boxup will do for easy accessibility. Other issues to consider will be your floor and wall but if you are hacking the whole place shld be fine. , Mike
  4. Hello dafansu! Sent u alr~

    Cheers,

    Mike

  5. That's right. First have to seek approval from the condo management. Shldn't be a problem. Let them know which walls u intend to hack as well juz to make sure after hacking it wouldnt affect the building. You can remove the WC and basin only leaving the main pipings which can be concealed since it's a condo. Hope this helps. , Mike
  6. Hello Pluck, Welcome to T-blog~ Resort theme home eh? Cool~ Await ur reno pics! , Mike
  7. Windows good ma! More air flow and use less paint! Juz kidding! , Mike
  8. Yay no need push back wall! I'm happy for u... cuz hacking and then rebuilding another wall is gonna cost... unless it is really needed. If not i'll recommend not to. Ah... I see pole system. hehez they suggesting open concept eh That's good Tho i reckon will still block abit of light la but still okays~ Woah right now i'm imagine a transparent wardrobe with pole system in your bedroom. COOL~ hey not necessary must use glass panels leh... maybe can try transparent acrylic or maybe if you are daring can choose colored ones~ add some colors to your bedroom! nice~ , Mike
  9. That's true hacking is better at only additional costs of hacking and material. Better guarantee too. cuz overlaying you dun know when the existing tiles will pop I agree with Tachipanda. Most likely internal is white pvc. But at $115 pfr... it's reasonable la As for soft closing probably there is, juz that it will not be blum, China brand maybe. or can even be excel~ So charmed... u could ask for more quotes (tho i understand it's kind of a pain in the *** looking thru quotes from 10 Contractor/ID ) and ask for more details as well like what Tachipanda said. hehez Wellz here's a mini breakdown for your quote~ 1.1 can add more FOC items like Space planning, Applying for Reno permit, Interior Designing consultation, Arrangement for PUB gas pipe installation if any, Consultation on lightings, furniture and accessories, etc. D4 cant give much comments cuz need area of kitchen and bathrooms 4.5 can be cheaper F6 can ask ur ID to list down the items like double powerpoint and single powerpoint, etc and indicate the pricing for each item 7.2 tempered glass shower screen can be cheaper 10.1 $150 pfr is reasonable but do take note granite and marble countertop needs alot of maintenance alright? natural stone ma... 10.2 $250 pfr ask for more details like casement/sliding? internal coloured pvc? soft closing? probably can be cheaper by $20pfr? if its white internal pvc and cheap soft closing 10.3 $115 pfr is reasonable... 10.4 same as 10.2 K11 the free items. They are not free la~ considering the plus minus here and there in the quote~ HeheZ Hope this helps~ , Mike
  10. Sure prettydad will send to you~

    Cheers,

    Mike

  11. Yupz i am Tho i prefer being called a renovator~ hehe , Mike
  12. Hello~ I would say both. You can either get yourself or ask ID get for you. Sometimes you go out shopping with your family and walk around some furniture shop, or gain city, or some bathroom accessories showroom and found something which you really like. Can buy straight but better to consult your ID/contractor so he/she can advice you on the dimensions etc. That's why communication and chemistry with them very important~ Id/Contractors can also get the items for you or even bring you go shop shop hahaz~ (at least i do ) Actually alot of items la - from tiles, lightings, kitchen hob, hood, toilet accessories, even electrical appliances etc. Hope this helps. , Mike
  13. Hmmm professionalism... i feel they have lost the basis of interior designer (or what i rather call myself - a renovator). Space planning, functionality, aesthetics, quality and lastly customer service. We are here to provide and help seek the best solutions. But i can't deny about the money. After all we need to eat too. Yet again money should never compromise these 5 basis. , Mike

  16. Hello Tessina~ Welcome to Renotalk T-blog! Your home looks huge! Have a smooth sailing Renovation! , Mike
  17. Thanks! It should look okays. The smaller wardrobe can be made flushed to the wall next to it. Can try to make it look the same as the wall to hide it. And also it wont block the natural light from the window no worries~ U've got a huge Master Bathroom so can do bathtub And many other things~ It's good to know about the rules tho hehez Anywayz juz my suggestions. Hope it helps! , Mike
  18. To be honest kinda hard to keep within 20k sia... from my experience. u've got quite a number of carpentry works. , Mike
  19. Nope thickness is preference lo... some like thinner ones - for sleekness feel/design while others like thicker ones to showcase the countertop. more material but bulky tho Yupz it's heat resistant, stain resistant and scratch resistant, not proof ah rem But of cos have to take care and maintain the countertop cuz even the best material will succumb to wear and tear overtime Can share maintaining tips with u if u want hehez , Mike
  20. island. you'll love it. even if it is a dry one , Mike
  21. Hahaz no problemo. space planning is my rice bowl dunno why but i kinda like doing it lol Somemore i'm slacking at home after a couple of days work at replacing window rubber gaskets. Look at this. Shot at 2012-07-27 melted and yucky~ Shot at 2012-07-27 have to slowly dig it out~ Alrighty back to ur reno~ hmmm what wardrobe size u looking at? 10ft? or more? btw the wardrobe at the wall next to the entrance plus the wardrobe opposite ur master bath adds up to 10 ft alr... hmmm then can also add a low height cabinet below the windows too... more storage space! Ah ic intending to have a wet island eh? hmmm do note that hdb rules dun allow concealed piping and wiring alright? means cannot hide them under tiles or partition block. must have access. box up still okays~ , Mike
