  1. the box says spotlight, but mine all mounted into my false ceiling so they're flush with the ceiling... not sure if you call it downlight...
  2. roughtly ah ... my total area is a L-shaped, combining living and dining...living area is around 3800 x 4575, dining is around 2675 x 2675... - living area has 12 spotlights, combination of 1/2 bulb versions - dining area has 4 spotlights, all 1 bulb version...and a pendant dining light, more for decoration and added light when i have guests over ... - my foyer has a single bulb, which is switched on 24hr ... then a single set of 3 bulbs to light up the small entryway to my MBR which has 3 paintings/pictures... total spotlights : 20
  3. the translation for "厂家正规授权,正品行货" is that they're licensed to make this for AKG aka OEM...real or not, errr... the comments seem to point that they're definitely lighter than the original AKG ones, the detailing is not so good (the devil is in the details where u can tell if it's good or not) etc...and most of them say it's ok for this price aka not that great... the wooden one looks cool, noticed that quite a few comments have pointed out that the actual item's colour is lighter than in the picture huh... did u spot the acrylic equivalent ? 一级代理 德国设计 头戴大耳机 透明 水晶耳机架 亚克力 质感一流 white one may go better with your decor: super cute !!
  4. agree with kim...the green one is not bad, only 1 bad review out of the lot, quite a few of the reviews look genuine to me...but i would do a search for more sellers if i were you... just did a quick search (search term:欧式复古台灯 书房) and this seller looks to have better sales track record - poke around and see if they carry the colour/style you want... 【子蘭】欧式复古典 银行台灯 实木书房民国老上海办公台灯 包邮
  5. tell the seller u r shipping overseas, they r usually quite good about packing it better or adding extra for u
  6. i didn't notice this before but if you use your CC on TB, there is a 3% service charge all 5 items between kim and me are enroute to amcon - ordered them ourselves (save on the rmb50 per link)...waiting for may to revert on how to do payment...
  7. yeah, the grout cleaner i'm planning to use only on the areas that i really cannot tahan... i'm planning to buy the following actually, not sure if you consider them interesting: Amco Collapsible Steamer, Stainless Steel Progressive International Stainless-Steel Magnetic Measuring Spoons Joseph Joseph Square Colander - small Oxo Good Grips Locking Tongs with Nylon Heads some others like the large oxo silicone drying mat (the small square one i have is great and i will repurpose for something else), and a couple of oxo storage containers...and a few CDs and a book...
  8. u forgot still got one carpet leh... and hor, dun believe him when he says nothing much just wait for the pictures when they arrive ... but very nice wor... undoubtedly our shopping guru...
  9. pai seh, dun remember, but frankly, it's not expensive considering every time you use a couple of drops...may have to do couple of times depending on how stubborn the dirt is hor...i remember on my "test area", i did twice last night, this morning wake up and it was magically very very faint liow... i try again tonight and see if it will magically disappear but even if not, it's ok lah...current state is good enuf for me... it should work for most dirty spots, but i have one which is a red line - goodness knows what i did there but it didn't really seem to work there...will go and try again and see how...
  10. think we were talking about sink cleaners etc in another thread but since you also have light coloured floors (and hence, light coloured grouting), have to share this wonderful thing called a grout cleaner with you and anyone else who also has light coloured floors... Mrs Mckenic® Tile & Grout Wonder i bought mine at a home-fix store, the guy told me this is probably the best one they know of so far turns out he was not kidding...i actually tried turpentine but that didn't work... according to the instructions, i applied a couple of drops directly to the dirty grout, used an old soft toothbrush to brush it (like brushing teeth, 8-10 times), then wiped off with wet cloth and dry cloth and once dried, it was very clean !
  11. nearest i can find so far is this one: very difficult without at least a brand to start from ... btw, the first thing that came to mind when i saw this is maintenance - looks very high-maintenance, no ?
  12. Err, not sure wat u mean but Kim n I r ordering directly from the various sellers n getting amcon to receive n ship to us leh...we r not paying rmb50 per link...
  13. wah, sounds like wiping down be less hassle ah... huh...so hdb taps no good? Anyway I dun have any hdb taps...
  14. fyi, i asked may about storage at the GZ warehouse cos kim's and my stuff are arriving at different times, she's said that no issues holding the items for us, as long as i tell her when they ship the item (发货日期)...no issues communicating with her over email but i write to her in chinese...
  15. umm, i checked the boxes on my spare bulbs - led spotlights, 4 leds x 1w each per spotlight...mine is not a branded one like phillips/optiled as kim has said... my drivers are separate from the bulbs, incidentally... best to go visit a few showrooms or friend's houses to get a better idea of the different types b4 deciding... i basically went with what my ID recommended, i have to say that it works pretty well for me and i'm happy, in terms of brightness via a combination of 1 and 2 bulbs...
  16. eh how do u remove water stains ah? I wipe down every nite cos I dunno wat to use to remove water stain...heh rust will form only if a chemical reaction happens eg bits of iron or whatever fall onto the sink. happened to me during reno cos I din cover it - easily removed by autosol...subsequently no rust issues...I got scratches cos I'm not particularly gentle n it doesn't really bother me...hee disclaimer:I dun use a kraus sink
  17. my whole place uses led n honestly I've not experienced wat u described...but I'm using warm white everywhere which is sort of yellow light so mebbe that's more mellow on the eyes?
  18. i watch kdramas actually...the local ones suck but i miss my nat geo and discovery - which i used to have in beijing so that's y considering getting cable movies, i mostly watch english ones - and errr, they r not from the strictly "legal" route lah... but hor, some korean ones are really good and speaking about this, you should really watch the man from nowhere - very gory and violent but the story is quite solid and the acting as well...
  19. errr, ya... and that's only if i do watch tv i guess my tv is more to entertain guests ... but, am considering getting cable ...
  20. my AV needs are very basic - i only have a basic tv and a basic ipod player... not like you guys' professional setup
