Hmm, I saw a whole bunch of them today at Tangs Orchard, including the striped one. The mini mosaic one that I like is not available here so I'm considering to ship it with my other purchases as well - additional USD8 for it so my total shipment cost is about 35% of my total purchase price. Roughly, the worktop will cost about SGD49 vs Tangs selling it around SGD59... Ok, this is what I'm planning to buy: Joseph Joseph ELGB0100CB Elevate 6-Piece Heat-Resistant Utensil Set Joseph Joseph 12 by 16-Inch Worktop Saver with Mini Mosaic Design OXO Good Grips Silicone Drying Mat

Out of curiosity, did anyone ever consider buying one of these (or something similar) ? Totally Bamboo 20-2091 In-Drawer Bamboo Knife Block Amazon doesn't want to ship this to me... Besides getting the Oxo paper towel holder and the Joseph Joseph cutlery tray, I'm considering getting one of these too (many designs to choose from) Joseph Joseph worktop saver

Where To Get Toilet Cabinet For Sink
dragonnite replied to chilla18's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
You could be better off buying those vanity cabinet with sink type, instead of trying to replace only the cabinet cos that may end up costing more ... Wasser Bath, Hoe Kee, Lucky Khoon, Royal Fanco all have...Only Royal Fanco don't have display sets for you to see and feel... -
The blinds range from Sipario Gallery is very limited, the price is not that much different from the one that my ID told me to go for (and that's after 15% discount) ... could be different for curtains...

i was reading on the internet that wiping down surfaces with lemon water, or any water with a few drops of natural essential oil will keep them away as they don't really like such stuff. i guess dettol would work too... -

I would say don't get pressured by these tactics. My flooring is just done and my ID has advised me to get the curtain guy to come down and quote, and the guy can first fix all the necessary hardware since he needs to drill etc. Most importantly, ask your ID/contractor if this will affect your false ceiling works, if any. My ID says only 1 or 2 days before handover (after acid wash) or even, after handover then get the guy to come and hang the stuff cos of the dust.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Ikea 365+ range - the shapes and sizes are pretty good but a little on the heavy side. The plus point is if one gets broken, replacement is easy and doesn't kill my pocket... -
I'm looking to get one of these just for extra kitchen countertop space to put my countertop oven. Should be the type that folds flat, vertically and can be put away into my storeroom when I don't use it. Anyone has any recommendations on where to get one ? Would like to get a wooden one, ideally. Thx for any help !

ah, i noticed not all homefix stores carry the dehumidifier tho - do you know which ones carry it ?
-
I was looking for one to buy and was recommended the Europace one at Best Denki. I like it that the tank capacity is big, it's got wheels and at the back, features a water outlet that can be connected to a tube so that it can drain directly to the toilet (if I'm away for long periods). Auto-cutoff of power when the water tank is full too... Europace EDH216 Anyone has any other recommendation of a reliable dehumidifier or is this ok to buy ? Those that I see in Homefix seem a little small... Just to clarify, I'm going for the one that dries the air in the room, not a humidifier that blows mist into the air.

My mom has a trusty iona one which has been going strong for like 7-8 years. I'm assuming you mean the round, glass type with the convection engine on top like a lid huh, and not the square type. Your best place to window shop for this kind of stuff is Taka and Tangs - just to get a feel of what the different brands are and what you can do with them. I like the meats that come out of it - very tender and juicy.

Decide based on ur budget and what you really like. U r going to be looking at it pretty much everyday for the next few years - so dun get something that u will think "how come i din buy the other one?" every time u see it ...

Some people dun pick Monic/SQM because they're not very well known brands. One of these is Korean I think, both made in China. Both are equally thick as the ones by Reginox (1.2mm ??). Quality of the SS, based on specs, they're all equivalent to Kraus (I dunno about elkay and baron cos i never looked at them), in terms of thickness and 16 gauge. I was going to buy the Kraus until I came across a Franke that had a great price (S$476 vs ~S$600+ for the Kraus including shipping) so at the end of the day, price (and brand) won for me. I'm one of those who won't buy Monic/SQM. Almost bought Reginox (u can c full range at Ideal Bathroom at Balestier) but didn't see one that I really liked. SS sinks will spoil if you don't take care, i.e. use steel wool on it, scratch etc. Tons of articles on google about how to take care of your sink. There are those that you have to wipe down otherwise they rust. Not sure what brand that friend of mine bought but there you go ...

Resale Unit - Procedure To Get Quotations?
dragonnite replied to bleucheeze's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
one quick way to get a floor plan with measurements is to buy the plan from HDB online. pay with a credit card, costs only $5 and you get a PDF file in your mailbox almost instantly. even if the unit had been heavily modified in the past, most of the dimensions should be quite accurate still. some contractors/ID will still insist on going down onsite, even with an accurate floorplan, as in my case, cos it's probably to both parties' benefit to give/get an accurate quote. that's the point when you bring only your shortlisted candidates onsite, takes them at most 1 hour to do everything. if u want to be as accurate as possible, go prepared with a list of the items you want or don't want so that u can ensure all parties get the same list. -

i made the same conclusion after reading through some reviews. for those who are more into tvs and want more out of your tv, check out the following section from Cnet - really good read into the various technologies, even for someone who's not into tvs like me ... Cnet article
