hi Tim_chenie... ur most welcome...got any good stuff must share share one... woah...best denki sale! thanx very much for the heads up! good idea on the thread suggestion...if got such a thread then surely nex time everyone go sales can bump into fellow renotalk members...except that we dun know each other.. dun wori...ur reno looks good...if they cun complete on time got chance to ask for some more freebies haha...but i think once all tiles and skirting are up things will move much faster cos itz all installation and stuff like dat...so cheer up dun wori things are gonna be fine... and that perfectly shows that the attitude of the individual staff is very important... can pm me the sales guys name...cos i think ur experience sounds good..

Man ur right..deign to get money out of ur pocket part that it. Most of the time "designer" stuff like so simple like dat then cost a few thousand dollars...haha hey..dun get me wrong...i love plain and simple stuff...especially for toiletries stuff..cos my toilet kinda small..ok itz not kinda small..itz actually pathetically small...so i wun wan intricate stuff to clutter up the look...so plain and simple is the best! hopefully plain and simple and cheap and lasting haha... hmm...if the metro sale is still on can go see the bedroom stuff...scared i forget to see friday papers...dun have the habit to read newspaper unless im REALLY bored...juz browse through the internet for latest news haha.. Oh...i went up yesterday and plastering of all rooms are done...left with plastering of the living room...laying of laminate flooring for bedrooms...electrical rewiring...still got a lot haven do lah...i took some more pics yesterday...but think i post later so can see more difference from the previous pics...maybe this friday if i can find time to go up again... Howz ur reno going dude? hello shmj...thanx for checking out!

No one can bully u around if u dun allow them to. call someone..a friend or relative if ur unsure...then inform ur FH when he's available. reservist 2 weeks right? very fast one.....

Hello there! nice choice for the laminate flooring. What colour will your cupboards be to complement this natural looking colour? Love your black wall....
-
no lah...no for the cupboards...the first one where u mix the white vinegar with 50-50 water...for the getting rid of odour... i also read somewhere where u mix white vinegar with water and spray it into the air if there are odours...my hse main entrance got some smell from outside one...i've got some freaky neighbours haha so...use too much "glade" smell already become nauseous...so if white vinegar can get rid of the odour without any oher additional smell it'll be great... seems like white vinegar is the miracle liquid.. I think maybe itz because ur cupboards new...thatz y still got the glue smell? Good progress there dude! looking forward to more pics!

promotion at month end? **** i'll be there. but my wife got not so good experience with harvey norman a few years back where she bought a vacuum cleaner for the place where she works...kinda kena suan from the staff when she brought back the vacuum cleaner for exchange when it was discovered defective...on the same day of purchase...or something like dat. I did asked for an explainantion from thier management (emailed their district manager or dunno wat lah) about the staff behavior but never got any reply. So my wife and i kinda avoided harvey norman from then...but still a sale is a sale and must go and see if can grab some good deals.

ok...heres wat i could find... Bathroom/all purpose cleaner 4 tablespoons baking soda dissolved in 1 litre of warm water or mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water Glass cleaner Mix warm water with either white vinegar or lemon juice in spray bottle...wipe with newspapers Laundry brightner Add 1/2 cup (?) of strained lemon juice to rinse cycle Fabric rinse Add 1/4 cup (?) of white vinegar to washing machine's rinse cycle to remove detergent completely from clothes. Will not leave clothes smelling like vinegar. Detergent booster Add baking soda...which will soften the water and increase detergent power..therefore reducing detergent usage. for cleaning of ovens Pour baking soda on oven floor whenever anything is spilled over. Leave the baking soda to sit. When oven is cooled..scoop up the goob and remove. Can only be used when the spill is fresh. The baking soda absorbs the grease that was in the food but does not stick to the oven floor. While i haven tried all these b4.. i think itz interesting and will give it a shot Actually therez a whole lot more...like using white vinegar to get rid of smells and stuff...but i cun find the magazine that i saw it in...im gonna search on the net.. ok found these... http://www.hintsandthings.com/spareroom/vinegar.htm http://www.discountshoppingguide.com.au/ar...eaning_products

-
Hey dude... Dun worry...nowadays got many good good cleaning solutions around. I also saw on some magazines about how white vinegar can remove stains easily...but must mix with some other stuff like baking powder and such..so if u take some time off can mix all these up and give it a shot...tomorrow i check which magazine then i put the "recipe" for the cleaning solution up. Good idea painting one of the walls to have contrast...paint can easily be changed if you dun like it so i say go for it man! Actually hoh...i kinda feel like my house look smaller after hacking leh...dunno maybe it'z because of all the sand and dust and all the stuff lying around making the house look smaller. And seriously...i also duno how to keep the oil away from the rest of the living area haha...got soem ideas lah...like if fry food then use those frying cooker loh...other then that i promised my wife i would clean after every meal cooked !! then she agreed haha...siong abit lah...but i'm vain also hehe... Itz sunday evening now...SO FAST! have a nice weekend evening everyone! I'm off to work now...

yup...itz gonna be open concept...make the space more airy and open...therez gonna be a small partition between the living and dining but thatz all... haha...thank you for your kind comments tim_chenie. at first we choose some tiles from white horse for our toilet and i was thinking like quite dull..so our id/contractor bought us to sbh...where we saw all these colourful tiles and nice designs..so last minute change all the toilet concept. I will post more pics when i go up again nex week...my work has been keeping me away from going up as mush as i like...now also find it difficult to arrange for time to go and buy the toilet bowl and sink and stuff...haiz... oh u mean the round olive colour one? the olive colour also very nice...the shop is Luxur***t at furniture mall....at level 1. at first it was $2600 for 4ft/2 half ft table and 6 chairs...then bargain with the lady until $2500 and placed deposit. Subsequently thought the dimensions of the dining table too small...so changed it to 5ft/3ft on advise by our id/contractor...become $2650..with 6 chairs...so discount not so much. yah itz a bit ex lah...but i like the sleek look and my wife simply loves it...so pamper ourselves loh. but our budget super burst liao loh haha...gotta cut back abit on other areas. !!

Parquet is difficult to maintain...but if maintained well...in my opinion nothing beats the feeling of cool and smooth parquet on your feet...not to mention the classy feel/look...but maintenance is a big issue. I know of someone who did his hse with parquet---living room+all the 3 rooms. In the end he kpkb say itz siong to take care of it...oh well..therez always a price to pay for vanity haha..

thankz... i visited almost all of the t-blogs here...but sad to say i can't remember whose is whose...sometimes i come back and can't find the t-blog that i wanted to show my wife haha...im a sotong lah....some stuff that definately made an impression is eRic's t-blog (pebblewash floor with the beige cloured tiles in it...nicely done).....fteocs 's t-blog...he's a REALLY organised person and im really looking forward to seeing his pictures...your t-blog- your super duper white and bright tiles made me think why i did'nt choose that earlier on to be honest haha...Grey and Brownmse's new home...black black toilet...so posh...but my wife dun like black black so no go. And Melvin and Angeline's lounge...so cosy with all the dark colours...I love dark colours actually...but gonna be living with my parents and my wife also dun like dark dark one...so I go along with the bright themes. and therez many many more! They are all so nice! Thank you! Yup at furniture mall...We bought the table in 5ft/3ft + 6 dining chairs total damage $2650...i dunno how much the table alone cost cost i kinda bought it as a package from the shop... I walkd around and saw similar designs of this table at other shops also all about $1300+ to $1500+ range. U wan i can call the shop that i bought it from to find out the price of the table alone?
-
do they have it in other colours at hafary? cos i saw that and was thinking this tile will be REALLY cool if therez other colours like black...purple...yellow. ya know...colours that look so sweet that makes you wann eat them...

Pictures I took today...Day 9 of reno Kitchen wall tiles are up. Actually this wall tile design (from SBH) was not the first choice of my wife and I...it was the THIRD choice...first and second choice no stock so bo bian....still ok lah. A strip of black glass mosaics for some contrast... And heres a look at the very first piece of furniture we bought for our home...the dining table. Sales staff say theres a 10 YEARS warranty for the metal parts...any rust they'll replace it. If they close shop then i also bobian what...but i like the look of it...and placed the deposit for it. itz gonna be 5ft by 3ft...scared too big but ID/contractor say no problem... think my pebblewash is same colour as yours....my ID/contractor say if we mop and mop the lil pebbles will get more and more shiny cos itz natural stone...cool is'nt it? Anyway think no more pics to show liao haha...updated till today...must wait for more progress before posting pics again. time for me to look at the beautiful homes of others now...hope mine turns out as well as others though.
