Actually, painting is kinda last for me. I initially wanted to do retiling the kitchen and service balcony floor. And so I'd rather take away painting to do the re-tiling. Bt if realli worse comes to worse, maybe I won't tile the kitchen floor and do spray painting service balcony floor. I must say that this idea JUST came to me only. Heh...

thanks lin_stapler for ur encouragement. today an ID went to our house to survey the 'damage' tat has been done. i'm hopeful. but i'm just concerned about the finance part. should i just settle for this ID if it meets my requirements ? or should i scout ard further. i'm too tired to scout too many. the excitement has worn off apparently

thanks again to all. i'm really overwhelmed by all ur support. applefreak, guess u are rite. late last nite, we had a chat abt it. he's realli worried abt the mounting debts and what if he loses his job ? it'll be even worse. an ID is coming over today to take a look at the damage done. do u guys think i should tell the ID the truth abt my money being stolen ? i dowan the new ID to think that he can take advantage of us easily. s&s and Cantona7, i've already PMed u the details.

sigh. today's talk was not good. i wanted to just move on but everytime i suggest something to FH. he just seems to keep mum and i hate hate hate it when he does that. i dunno whether he agreeing to my idea or not. this setback certainly has strained our relationship.

thanks guys. we did think of small claims tribunal bt they will follow the contract which is more than 20k. even if i wan to take back 10k also cannot, they say must follow contract. today me and FH gg to discuss on the reno: wat are things to be done and the budget next i guess is finding an id/contractor

thanks applefreak and summverale. applefreak, me only gt some perspective drawings. anyway, dun have much carpentry. just the kitchen part and the rest are all basic reno stuff. basically, i still need to do laminated flooring for whole house except kitchen, kitchen cabinets, bathroom piping and floor and wall tiling of the master bathroom. for painting, decided to do it ourselves. FH seems set on getting another ID: our second choice instead of contractor. so we'll see. summverale, we've already reported it to the police. we made the report with other homeowners to make it a stronger case to show that they have the intention to cheat. hopefully, the IO will investigate further instead of just dismissing it as another breach of contract and ask us to go for civil lawsuit.

Hi All, As u all may know from my t-blog, i've been cheated by the ID. Now, we just want to move on. I would very much like to post details on her and her company but don't really know if it's allowed. Anyway, I just would like to ask the forummers on GOOD recommendations on the reno. Please keep in mind that since we're cheated of the money already, our budget won't be high at all. Hope that you can help in this aspect. we're considering both contractors and ID. Thanks again. P.S. if you want to know which company, kindly pm me so as to avoid them in future. i would really hate for anyone else to fall for their traps.

thank you Linda for ur kinda offer. FH was suppose to collect money from her today but as usual, excuses. This was our last chance for her so we made a police report afterwards. Now me just thinking about the money for the future.

thanks Air and koikoi. and yes, i meant the ID cheated me.. nt the contractor per say. I've already tried Case but they couldn't help either. Even the police couldn't help. we both feel that this is just a test for us and hopefully we will be stronger and wiser due to this issue.

hey all. i know i have not updated long here. i just wan to tell u that my contractor has taken my money and stopped work. so basically, they cheated me. i don't know if i can get the money back. i am hoping against hope but i know it's to no avail. FH has been telling me not to cry and I know it's no use crying over this. i am angry at times and very depressed at other times. We both will just have to pick up the pieces and move on. We're not stalling anything just because of them. Our plan now is to: Get a loan somehow Fix the house up but might not be what we envisioned it earlier Go ahead with the wedding at the end of the year If you want to know more on the company, please PM me. wish me luck in the future.

bt always nvr follow schedule one lor so we **** fedup. tomorrow we meeting her again to thrash things out. hope everything will be ok. today we collected: hob, hood, kitchen sink and all toilet stuffs. so we kept it in one of the rooms for now which is locked up.
