  1. If you referring to cooker/hob E-ver-join-t, Goh ah bee, Lioncity
  2. Hello! I just popped in to say that quite a few of the lamitaks that you shortlisted, I also gave serious consideration like ramshackle (and the variants) One of the laminates I went with was brushed alumina which I really liked. Quite matt which is my preference. Curious how the ando concrete turns out!
  3. Thanks for the compliments on the lamp hee It's a book which opens up to a lamp. Called lumio! Got it as a gift.
  4. Have a lot of DIY ideas, no time to implement. Something small I did recently, was to change the inside of the pendant lamp from black to gold. Gold/brass is in again so can't resist being "on-trend" lol.
  5. Hi juxtapose, Bought from overture, which sells in minimum of 2 x 1m i.e 2 sqm at $78 dollars, self-collect.
  6. I used dulux pentalite. Water based and dries quickly. 1l for that accent wall. Cost about 20 bucks I think. Went to the dulux paint shop at Alexandra. U can find the address online.
  7. I'm quite sure there are additional colour of skirting that can be used. The other option is to forgo skirting That's what I went with.
  8. Your response also chop leh. Heh. /lurk
  9. Yup, no problems with removing these command strips from painted walls. Very smooth removal and paint on wall is not damaged!
  10. I really like 3 room layouts - hope you dont mind my comments! Extending the MBR toilet is good idea. Though I would just "move" the sink outside, rather than create new walls. If feasible, might be simpler and less cost. What's the rationale for the storeroom in the kitchen? I feel that location might block the light and make the place look smaller. Also if dining table is too long, the space to walk from dining to kitchen might be cramped because of this storeroom Can you place washer and dryer in the utility area? Mostly for noise reason as washer and dryer when running, can affect ur TV enjoyment heh. Maybe utility area can be the "store" area by building some full height cabinets.
  11. I have done a black aluminium bifold doors. Definitely possible but it's custom.
  12. I think led bulbs emit a lot less heat but given enough time will emit heat. It's not 100% efficient mah.
  13. Quite a few people here have used track lights in the kitchen. Visually/aesthetically more impactful. Functionally, I'm not so sure since the light tends to be rather focused on a specific area. Some people do consider additional T5 lights under the upper cabinets to offset the concentrated track light source. That was what led my decision to forgo track lights in kitchen.
  14. Gd luck on your tb purchases! The tables look like they can be flat packed so I think much less prone to being damaged during shipment.
  15. Is your quote of 6.25 psf before or after GST? I bought it before they launched the new range. Maybe they up price already? Honestly I never do anything special. Just waited for their promo and once I knew what I wanted, place deposit.
  16. I opted to MHI sys 2 and it was actually 100 bucks more than starmex sys 2. BTU the same. Overall quite satisfied with MHI. There is a post here, dated Oct '12 which compares the various brands. Worth a read.
  17. I think varnish might make it more yellowish and become less grey I found the resin effect pictures for you http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/47307-kim-tian-green-minimalist/page-3#entry737715 Should ask tessina for pics of her waterproofed walls to see what effect is obtained!
  18. Agree that it's best to get a deep sink with single bowl to wash big pots. Much less water splashing out when washing also!
  19. I dunno also leh. I never use induction before. Btw I bought the same "silver" plastic disposal flatware and was paranoid about my actual flatware being thrown away. So I told everyone to put all of it into the sink, whether disposable or not!! Heng lor
  20. Ascot blue vs gentry blue. Ascot blue is definitely lighter in intensity (you are correct) and it will be a lighter blue vs gentry blue. The best way now to tell the difference is to (1) use the ICI dulux website to see and (2) go down to the shop and review the swatch. Often times you can only tell the difference when putting them side by side and under different lights. The shop typically only has fluorescent lighting. So bring it outdoors to compare both colours under natural light. Actually my ceiling height is 3m - but I have no false ceiling so it is exactly that height. I used rollite from sunscreen as it was installed there originally and I just needed to change the fabric. I think they're ok but I had a lot of friction with the sales guy. We got into a dispute on whether the installed blinds were slightly slanted which he denied. Took me a long while to get them to rectify - and only after withholding balance payment... Windows treatments - just get roller blinds. Looks neat and easy to use. Don't get motorised or remote controlled ones. Mine are motorised and bedroom one just died so have to replace. Besides the cost, have to tahan the sun every morning until replace motor... I used to have timber blinds in previous home. I find that dust collects there and I'm lazy to clean. Lol. Not a fan of curtains either. The design tends to get dated quickly and have to take down to wash. Have I mentioned I'm lazy? Heh
  21. Since it's the opposite wall, then less concern. My bathroom also has some concrete plastered walls and that one no issues. Only oil/grease splatter from cooking then need to clean with soapy wet wipes. Oh I cant see the structural flaw from your pic. Maybe that's a good thing!
  22. Hmmm. Very tough decision. If the cooker hob is right in front of concrete plaster wall, definitely higher chance of it getting stained over time. And if u r particular about keeping that wall pristine, then give serious consideration about coating it with varnish or epoxy. However the wall will become darker and more yellow brown in colour ie less grey. Someone blogged about doing epoxy for their concrete screed floor - it's a minimalist home. U gotta search for it in this forum!
  23. I suspect that the durability of this spoon is due to its material i.e. 18/10 grade stainless steel. Most stainless steel is not such high grade any longer and must pay a premium.
  24. I can't rem any of their names now, tho all of the sales people could offer me $6 psf then. Advice is to wait till they got exhibition. Then just put a deposit in to secure price.
