My Anyhow Reno, Anyhow Theme But No Anyhow Budget Reno
guojiawen replied to Vct's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
Will check back for the completed DIY project -
Haha, Takashi, it's okay lah, not always possible to tell gender from our names Like what EthanDad had shared, there's no definite timeline for the collection of keys. I've got neighbours who got it really fast, like after 1 month of approval, they are informed to collect keys. Got others Jan HLE approved, HDB informed them very recently to collect keys at the end of March. No way for us to gauge the timing except to wait for them to update the system + send us letter.. Are you expecting your keys soon?

My Anyhow Reno, Anyhow Theme But No Anyhow Budget Reno

Hello Vct, Look forward to your sharing and wishing you smooth reno! -
Hey Takaishi, it's a sis here Here's a brief breakdown of the timeline based on my understanding: 1. Update of PCD date and receiving letter to apply HLE occurred at the same time for my block. 2. HLE letter gives 2 weeks grace to submit documents online (types of document may differ depending of our employment type) - Need 15 mths CPF contribution history easily gotten from CPF website - Last 3 mths payslip or letter of employment from your company 3. Upon submission, HLE approved in approximately one week! 4. Wait for update about when to collect keys Just continue the timeline from key collection onwards (based on my understanding too): 5. Door opening ceremony based on auspicious date + fengshui audit + check for defects 6. Wait one week for defects to be rectified + changes in layout based on fengshui audit (if any) 7. Start of reno! From this part onwards must get timeline from my ID liao.

Was there a timeline drawn out by your contractor? If not, maybe it's good to ask for one, so you can know what should be done each day / at each stage?
-
Slowly and steadily progressing...... HLE approved!

I asked for bulk purchase pricing from him.. Additional 10% discount if purchase is $1000 or more. Any renotalkers want to purchase? Yup. Very helpful suggestion from Vct!

Hi there, PM-ed you
-
Haha, I didn't realise that till you pointed it out. Anyway, jiayou with the reno process and may it will be a smooth one! Another thing noted! I will have grills coz of safety reasons. But definitely will make sure I check all corners for possibilities of them entering when I get the keys so they won't get a chance Thanks for sharing this! Will take note in case a kerb don't work out..
-
Haha minor difference.. our bomb shelter door open in front of the kitchen, yours open to the living room~ Yah, will keep blogging our reno journey!

Welcome! Which BTO project are you from? All of us seem stuck at the waiting for keys stage
-
Reno progress looking good
-
Realised we posted at the same time. Haha. I thought usually will charge coz the shower kerbs are also not very big, but my ID did charge for those.. Will try to ask for it FOC
-
Thanks for highlighting these.. Are you building the kerb at your main door to overcome this problem too?
-
Okay, will keep a look out for your DIY screen Thanks for pointing out about the main door as well. May have to add in a kerb then.. additional cost..... Not sure if attaching a rubber at the bottom of the door can keep them out though, got to check it out with my ID. The rubber looks something like the below:
-
Opps, the kitchen wall looked v raw so i thought it was hacked Anyway, PM received. Thanks!
-
Very nice views Wish I had a high unit too!
-
Wow, you are doing a full extensive reno.. Even hacking away wall tiles for kitchen! Can share what are you changing the timber skirting to? How much does it cost to change that? And the cost of boxing up the space in the living room? Thanks!

Updated the post on comparison on Singapore companies selling magnetic insect screens - Magnetic Screen replied with their quotation. After thinking about it, it is likely that I won't be installing a screen on the metal gate for 1 main reason. Whatever wants to get it can do so under the metal gate gap anyway. The insect screen will only cover the surface area of the metal gate itself. Since most of the companies charge by size, the $$ can be saved up.. That will mean I must keep my main door closed pretty often.. Else defeats the purpose of installing the screens in all the windows? Later the creepy crawlies come into the house and cannot find a way to escape worst nightmare!

Apart from the most wanted list very likely you will become the mastermind of many poisoned crimes lol~
