  1. Can try gotaobaosg also. I have been using them. Customer service very good.
  2. I think lightings better to get in SG. If not, warranty how?
  3. Most of the time, its the driver that spoils first. So if that's the case, you have to pull out the wirings and disconnect the drivers. Doing this exposes you to live wire, so remember to switch off the main power. While some may say that just off the light switch and it will be fine, it is only true in theory. We have no idea how the electrician laid the cable or connect the circuit. So, if you are doing it yourself, remember to switch off the main power.
  4. Earth wire is only needed for appliances like kettle or iron where the exterior is a conductor and there are chances of electric shock when there is a current leakage. So, everything that you don't touch don't need.
  5. If it's for studying, get one that is diffused and has 18W. But, given that u used 32W tube, 15W for LED should be enough. I got mine at House of Chandelier. You can check them out.
  6. I got mine at House of Chandelier. They got a home showroom. Very nice reno Anyway, their service is good and got 2 year on-site warranty which is the main draw for me.
  7. Agree! That's why i always look for those that comes with warranty.
  8. Ya, so many things to consider right... Also don't know who to trust. That's why end of the day, I chose the one that can give me good warranty. No matter what happen, get the seller to fix for you. So no need headache. Just kp the seller and ask the to fix. I asked for at least 2 year warranty cos I did some calculation and in order to get back the savings from LED, need abt 2 years. Also, I made sure that the seller can do on-site warranty. Because I'm not good with taking down and fixing up stuff. I can't see myself taking the downlights out from the ceiling and putting it back without damaging anything in the process.. HAHA!
  9. I bought mine at House of Chandelier. Had a very good experience as they provide personalised service by consulting on our needs and recommend the best solution for us. Very friendly and warm. Most important for me is that they provide 2 year on-site warranty. Oh, the fact that I can see the lights in a home setting was helpful too.
  10. 6 months warranty sounds scary lei. My principle is that if the seller claim that LED Is meant to last for 5 years or whatever amount of years they claim, shouldn't they give at least 2 year warranty? I mean, isn't it the whole point of LED? Some more it usually takes about 1-2 years to see the savings from LED as compared to non-LED lights.
  11. Woah! Serious bo! I'm going to try that.
  12. Taiwan LED should be alright ba.
  13. Nice design! Your living room and toilet looks like the same tile sia. Is it going to be similar design but different texture?
  14. Oh man.. You mean your LED downlight uses LED bulbs instead of having the LED chips embedded on the fixture itself? Usually these not very good as there are too many points of failures, fixture, driver, bulbs.. Try to get those full set one with the LED chips embedded. They normally provide better cooling too. Which results in a more durable downlight
  15. Tirimisu, it depends on a variety of factors such as how many downlights you are installing and whether there are other light source such as cove light or ceiling lights. Other minor details such as whether the downlight is near a wall is also important. In fact, your own brightness perception is crucial too. What is too bright for others might be too dim for you. I bought my lights from House of Chandelier and learnt these from them. They have a residential showroom where you can see the actual light, its brightness and size. These helped me make the decision on how many and what size to get. To me, end of the day, whatever spec also no use. It's the actual brightness cos spec can fake but brightness is "no horse run" one. Very reasonable price too and comes with 2 years on site warranty. Make an appointment with them and bring your floor plan. They will advise you accordingly.
