As mentioned, I changed my gate. So the installation is a breeze. When I change the gate, I have the very intention to have a digital lock. Hence design wise, it was catered to install digital lock. Main issue with HDB gate or conventional gate, is that there is no flat surface for the digital lock to sit on. I do not have the picture of the digital lock on my gate but from below picture, you can understand that digital lock can sit accordingly anywhere on the gate.

No solution? Simply just replace the tile then. Unless of course that is an old tile which cannot be found anymore. Mine was chipped due to drilling. My ID is replacing for me.

I had installed digital lock on both gate and main door but I did replace both gate and main door. Hence installation was taken into consideration when ordering the gate and door so I do not face the gate installation issue. I employed the service of An Digital, they did my 3 bedroom and main door as well. So far I would say they did a good job. Price may not be the cheapest around but they are the authorized distributor. Choose to pay to have a peace of mind, the price difference is not as if hundreds as well.

Surprisingly, there is nothing much coming off the wall now. I was expecting when wipe across with hand, there will be white powder. But there are nothing, unless of course if you rub hard. Currently bracing for the walls to "dry" further or expand and see if crack lines etc will appear. If there are, it will be normal, especially if that wall gets lots of sun.
