Hi Binzz, my appt at 210pm, ended at 320pm,wow so many paperwork to sign. yup u need to pay cash. if u r paying alot of cash,u bring a cheque better (either get your parent to sign a blank cheque for u, Pay to "HDB" remember to decide whose bank account to deduct the monthly fees (consevancy charges,other bills etc). If u r using joint account, its better if u know whether is the account requires 2 signature or 1 signature. remember to bring IC oh ya, the officer will ask u whether u want to activate the electricity and water immediately. If ur reno is starting soon, u activate it on that day ba. Once activated,the officer will make ask u to make appt for their technician to go to ur hse to do the necessary again. So u have to think of which day r u free to let the technician go to ur hse My ID says that water and electricity need to be activated in order to start work. so if u want ur ID to start work asap, remember to tell ur officer abt it For HPS, private insurer is cheaper. U can sign the HPS first, then get private insurer to do also, if u dont mind paying in cash Thanks for ur checklist Binzz. its so useful ur question of whether can reno starts before rectifying the defects.. this is my major question too, my fiancee just discussed abt this, we also not too sure

Regarding the defects in the hse, seems that i cant find any defects yet leh, anybody didnt find defects also? maybe i m too happy today to search for defects,everything seems ok to me.nvm sat i am gg down to check it out again my reno starts on next mon already, need to pay money already, all savings gone so fast, hai

mine is 21k (includes bedhead,bed side table,shower screen on mbr,L-feature wall on bomb shelter and L-feature wall on dining area,shoe rack,window grilles). The rest are in the normal package(dining room tv console and feature wall,kitchen cabinet). Mine is all homo tiles, but i dont have aircon and platform hehe today going to select tiles ya, agree that the ID is slightly agressive. My fiancee feel the same way also. But yesterday after we went to see a completed reno flat, was quite impressive with the work done. After much thoughts, as long as the worksmanship is good and price ok,we are ok also. Hope i dont regret..pray hard that everything goes smoothly

just signed up from Baroque too. Went to a completed flat at Seng Kang to see the worksmanship, very satisfied with it. Hope everything will be smooth along the way, will post up some pictures in the next few weeks

Baroque is in my shortlist also, quite like their design and price is ok, i am going to arrange to see their worksmanship soon not too sure abt Meng design..

u complie a few quotes in a spreadsheet. Bring the spreadsheet and tell the ID the market price of the items u want to do. If they still charge u so high, u question them it Things still can work out, maybe u can try this method?

how come ar? in Expo show, those ID company can give within 3hours, whats the disadvantage of getting in less than 3hours?

if i look for another designer from Gplan, does that means that my reno will be slow also? (cos most of the workers are busy till next year)

u can try writing in and tell them that ur hubby is in overseas working,back in a mth later,then u check with them what is the procedures? my friend delayed in getting keys also use this method

i received quotes ranging from $800-$1600 for the window grilles for whole house $1600 exp right? sigh

ya, i think most pple will experience the risk of cut leg feeling for the tilings for any reno firm right? We*k** price is good, i am shortlisting them, most prob taking up from them already after searching for 8 ID firms.

Hi Binzz, most of my ID/contractor do not charge GST leh. Maybe u can try negotiate the price,ask them to give u discount? my friend using ***** also, they managed to ask for alot of discount from them.

Haven check out the homo tiles yet oh ya, that means we can go check out the tiles first,then tell our ID that we want to buy the tiles from the shop that we want right? or the tiles shop must be selected by our ID?

Hi Jasch, nope, window grill and whole house electrical works not included yet..i have checked already. If include these need another $3k how many ID have u been to? initially wanted a kitchen door,but cost abt $800..think dont want kitchen door lor,so i removed it from my list already. Hi Happy,thanks for your advice,i am also looking at whether can i buy those items seperately too,hehe.ya imm has some v nice furnitures oh ya marble flooring is it more exp than homo flooring?
