  1. PM me if you need carton boxes. I have around 10 in my storeroom that I need to throw away soon.
  2. This waterproofing test is very important. If your house has water leakage in future to the floor below, you need to hack away all your floor tiles and redo your waterproofing.
  3. Call SP services to take over the account. It will be much easier to take over than for you to reapply for a new account. I learned this the hard way.
  4. I had a positive experience with this company. Their products and services are of high quality and are most importantly, very well priced.
  5. You might want to check the size before you get it as some HDB doors are of different size.
  6. Based on recommendations from some online forum (don't remember which one), I bought 30 LED downlights, some strips and 4 track lights from yafen.sg about a year ago. 2 of my friends also bought their lights from her. So far, we have experienced no problems with her lights. As you have probably realized, the reason why we bought from her is because her lights are of good quality and are possibly the cheapest around.
  7. I bought a synthetic leather sofa and the quality sucks. After 1 year, the synthetic leather started to crack. It looked awful and I threw it away in the end. My car has full leather seats and after 7 years, still no cracks and looks new.
  8. I visited 1 shop in Tesco Tebrau City on the ground floor and 3 in the Taman Ros Merah industrial area and found that the LED downlights in Malaysia are a lot more expensive than Yafen’s for the same wattage. Anyone knows where in JB can we get cheap and good LED downlights? I am looking for 30 units of 9W white round downlights. I am now leaning towards buying all my downlights from yafen.sg. Her product knowledge seems quite poor and her English is quite limited so I have to communicate with her in Mandarin. I bought 1 downlight from her first to check the quality and I noticed that the finish is a lot better than the ones I seen in JB and Balestier. The luminosity (brightness) is also a lot higher for the same wattage. According to her, her relative owns a light factory in China and she ensures that she gets good quality LEDs and products. She can also manufacture custom-made lights in China if you provide the pictures and specifications. Anyone knows the long term reliability of her lights? There was some discussion about her earlier in this thread. Anyone had any horror stories with dealing with Yafen? Can share your experiences?

    T5 Lights

Just a note for your consideration - T5 LED lights can be bought at $10 each from online stores.
  10. My 2 cents Do not compromise on floor materials as it would be very difficult to rectify later. Unlike other products such as lights and furniture which you can just discard and replace, changing the flooring requires messy renovations. Invest in something long lasting and classy looking such as marble and granite. You can try quartz but it is beginning to go out of fashion.
  11. Forget about buying lights from Taobao now as there are online sellers in Singapore that sell good quality lights that are even cheaper than Taobao with 1 year warranty.
  12. Beware of furniture made from chipboard. They do not last. A lot of cheap furniture from China are made from chipboard. So are some of the cheap furniture from Ikea.
  13. Buy T5 LED lights from online stores. They are 50% - 70% cheaper than the brick and mortar light shops. Some online stores offer very good quality lights at very attractive prices.
  14. Seahorse foam mattresses are very hard and firm. A lot of people cannot get used to them.
  15. I have a few brands of mattresses - dunlopillo, king koil, sealy, maxcoil and flora. The cheaper mattresses are used in other properties which are tenanted out. Generally, for normal adults, maxcoil is ok. If you have kids, don't use cheap mattresses such as maxcoil as the kids will tend to jump on them and they will go out of shape in no time.
