Data Outlet Without Data Cables?
jt88 replied to leosmk's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
hi, u open the face plates and check if there are cables inside? i think you should lodge in as a defect since first year is covered, like what u say, electrical points cannot be w/o cables as well. i guess projects that was designed more than 3yrs ago where wireless is still not common, provides data points in the house. -
hi all how does yr ID give some form of "certification" that the granite is from India or China? does China granite really inferior and cheaper? When they me show samples there is no brand or country of origin stated there. only the acrylic surface samples glued on a nicely printed manufacturer's catalgue.. how do consumers verify?

Hi Min, I also got the same fridge and tv as you and the pioneer plasma is really a good choice, no need to argue !! I think you and yr HB must have been comparing between LCDs and Plasmas like me, plus the confusing models of Full HDs ... blah blah blah. At first just wanted a Samsung 32" LCD but after I look at this model, I knew this must be it, no regrets! I will only enjoy it next month !!

hi all thks for yr comments. i though of doing some homework from the forumers first before asking contractor. cos sometimes home owner and contractor may be differing views. initially I was thinking of full white kitchen top and cabinets. thought white is also not easy to maintain so decide to change to white cabinet and black top. i seldom cook so maintenance wise should be i guess. Corian 100% arylic is not porous i guess? if i choose black granite, I heard its not so resistant to water? heard my colleague's granite top leaves a mark if she leaves a wet pot on it. scared to make the wrong choice...

hi all forumers what top should i use if I want to create a kitchen similar to this? so many different kinds, a bit confused. basically I'm looking for black surface which extends all the way to the floor similar to this: Corian & LG which one is better? granite is porous so its better to chose Corian or LG?

hi may I know if these are clipsal or legrand switches? is yrs LG solid top too?

City Design @ Imm

I'm not trying to generalize but I tend to avoid exhibition IDs. cos I think good IDs would be spending time at customer's homes and not burn the weekends at booths waiting for customers. this exhibition is on-going. Just which out every Saturday's Strait's Times. You see them like..every week, same faces, same promo, same showflat, almost same venue (always either Suntec or Expo) and same packages. so not competitive. just my 2cents. -
I remember reading a FS site it says it must not be two beds joined together. It says something like sleeping on joint mattress is "pretending to be sleeping together but actually spilt", not good for married couples regardless of same bed frame or not (cos you lie on the mattress not the bedframe) if I can find the article, I will PM u.

hi all, i'm taking over a house where its existing kitchen cabinet laminate has worn out (scratching and peeling by the dog) but the kitchen is only used for less then 1.5yrs. somewhat in good condition. i can't redo the whole kitchen and contractor advised to remove existing laminate on kitchen cabinet and re-laminate. has anyone done this before? the end product really looks like new? also, anyone ever install hot water tap? (exactly the one at Carl's Junior, just turn and got hot water liao) any1 installed this too? easy to install and good? ... ops sorry post in wrong category)

Is Ur Plasma/lcd Wall-mounted Or On Swivel Stand?
jt88 replied to redbottle's topic in Electronics & Electricals
swivel: easy access to the in/out put ports behind the TV and can swivel left or right. can turn it to face the dining when having dinner. wall mounted cannot swivel. but can save space on yr tv console. and neater too. the decision depends on yr lifestyle. ( i had a tough decision to make but now decided to have it on the swivel stand -
I saw the NA-V80GD at Best Denki VivoCity on Fri. abt $13xx. sure they are still selling this model. in Mar07 price was $1999. The Toshiba TW150VS is abt $2xxx. Saw both at Audio House Liang Court on Sat. Price for Panasonic is higher while Toshiba is lower - dunno why, didnt ask cos dun intend to get from them. But Pansonic is 110L for 8kg load whereas Toshiba is 86L for standard load. Is Toshiba's standard load = full 9kg load?
-
hi, i was told that for washer cum dryer, the clothers will not be as dry as a standalone dryer. not sure true or not as I'm still evaluating. will get either the Pansonic or Toshiba washer cum dryer if not a LG front loading washer.

hi all, any using this Panasonic model?? any comments? thx

errmm.. just to share, yr procedures indeed quite different from mine. ie. my FSM told me t throw in pineapple after open door. use hammer to start 'dong tu' was what i read from other forumers. maybe it can be done but i need to chk with my FSM if I can use this method. (cos my auspicious hour is 11.38am. how to get the contractor to come up on the dot? what if they come late? if missed, I can only dong tu only 3weeks later!)

Budget Too Low ?
jt88 replied to Antz's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
from my exp, some ID companies just want to try their luck, ie. i tell ID not to do wet works, two weeks later, she happily propose a kitchen makeover! u may want to chk out the company on Renotalk homepage under "Promotions & Deals". their promo rates very competitive. they sure want yr biz. good luck!! -
Under the HDB OTP, it was stated: 13. Seller’s obligations 13.1 The Seller must, within 7 working days at the request of the HDB or the Buyer’s solicitor (a) produce such documents; (b) sign such documents; © make such declarations; or (d) provide such information, to the HDB or the Buyer’s solicitor, as may be required to obtain the HDB’s approval for the sale of the Flat. 13.2 The Seller must allow the HDB, any of its authorised officers or its panel of valuers to enter the Flat at any time in the day (a) to check for unauthorised works; (b) to assess the value of the Flat; or © for such other purposes as may be required by the HDB. it is surprised that the seller or its lawyer did not comply with the above. under Clause 24, it is stated that: 24. Mediation 24.1 Before referring any dispute relating to this Option to arbitration or litigation, the Seller and the Buyer must consider settling the dispute through mediation at the Singapore Mediation Centre (a company limited by guarantee of the Singapore Academy of Law). 24.2 The parties are however not legally obliged to attempt mediation as a means of settling their dispute. so i think if u want to take up the case, u may want to reasearch on clause 24.

Curtains As Partition?
jt88 replied to twoti's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
curtain used for internal partition is not bad idea, quite cost effective. at least can wash lor? used in between bedrooms - no smell. Can change design as and when you like? smelly cinema curtains cos they dun wash for 10years? at home is different mah. one ID I spoke to suggest to use thick curtain for kitchen! Cooking smell stick to fabric. maybe have to wash every week! philip starck designed hotel in HK. not bad right... -

Curtains As Partition?
jt88 replied to twoti's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
think must use thick blackout curtains (and not those translucent see-thru type) maybe 95% cool air can be contained within the partition? come to think of it, doors also do not cover all the way to the floor. some cool air also leak. -
