  1. Hello! We're both using the same oven too & I also acquired a recent hobby in baking just like Mrs Goh too. Its terribly addictive though can get messy with the flour and everything. One thing to note, if baking cupcakes, can only bake 1 batch at a time slowly cos cannot heat up the microwave oven too fast after use. scare later spoil very fast so I take time intervals to do the batches slowly. A bit time consuming as the oven is not big enough to bake 2 batches at a go compared to built in or convectional oven. Even better is to get convectional oven or built in oven. Convectional oven uses convection & conduction to heat food which means the food will bake from inwards while microwave oven uses radio waves or microwaves just to heat food. So heating the food is even and distributed better in convectional oven than microwave oven which is why sometimes food microwaved in microwave oven tend to be a little dry.
  2. soo cute!!!!!!! Maybe cut a bit shorter, the front frnge on donut's head. Easier, somemore can wipe off eye **** from their eyes.
  3. Yup he met ginger & kept trying to mate with ginger in a standing position. But ginger buay tahan and don't want to play with him after that 'cos he kept trying to mate with ginger at every possible turn. Somemore ginger is taller than summer, also difficult for his size to try mating. Scared to bring him meet yuki or fifi, wait they kena same fate as ginger, somemore yuki not neutered yet.
  4. How are oreo & donut now? As for summer, he's been a bit naughty, running out of the house of late. I think he's lovesick after meeting ginger, LLhome's doggie last week.
  5. Yup yup, she got a baking blog of hers in her signature. Makes me drool even more. Btw. went out to community library and picked up this book on breads. Going to photocopy some recipes like i did for the cakes last time.
  6. There's someone else who's good at it though and that person is simplyannes. Check out her blog signature. I'm still drooling though
  7. Awwwww so CUTE! Now I know what a mini schnauzer looks like when its really small, a puppy that is
  8. Ya lor, LLhome's specially built kerb for her dog is one good idea. When I saw her reno pic of the kerb & when i saw it in person I was having some regrets that no doggie kerb for summer.
  9. I probably would be improving on my cakes/cupcakes thing first. Piping is a headache for me though
  10. No wonder your mum chased you out of the kitchen What you've been baking every sunday btw?
  11. wah, why you let their hair so long? Those are guinea pigs? So cute. Makes me want to carry them!!
  12. Ah no, tell me about it. Im curious why you're hogging her kitchen?
  13. Im not familiar with JW totally so have no clue where the pioneer stadium is since I haven't go there before. But hello there, fellow neighbour in JW!
  14. No prob, sharing what I learnt. Yup, it does add up to quite a bit, just a few hundreds more than those outside lor. You can ask for quotation from Ikea for the type of kitchen you have in mind based on their existing kitchen catalog, you can see how it adds up really. My jaw dropped totally when I read out the itemized quotation and did a fair comparison 'cos I thought initially, that their kitchen might be cheaper. Its all about how you feel about the pricing.
  15. Let's just say, the worst scenerio might be spending more $$$ on top of the $ spent on paint, brushes, to rectify any big boo hoo if you don't know how to rectify it in the end. But everyone learns through trial & error in the end so there's no real loss, just that you get to learn plenty in terms of reno.
  16. Hmm your floorplan is slanted a bit. Is your place in a 'circular' block btw?
  17. jackng1982, No you don't DIY ikea's kitchen.. 'cos ikea got its kitchen contractors and kitchen people who will go over the kitchen layout with you before confirming. Not only that, you got to pay for assembling charges for drilling holes & assembling the cabinets on top of the kitchen's price. (Note, the price differs from the actual pricing advertised for the kitchen layouts in their catalog as it goes by per feet based on your kitchen area) We did consider one of the kitchens by ikea, the so called stainless steel kitchen cabinets BUT that is not even 100% stainless steel kitchen that is commonly found in restaurants le. The stainless steel is actually the laminate for the kitchen cabinet. A bit misleading also from the picture & that its being advertised as stainless steel somemore in their catalog. Also we asked for a couple of quotation for normal laminate & stainless steel laminate. Just like what Dracula mentioned, you got to add up quite a number of things to make up fully a kitchen, like kitchen basket, drawer, handle/knobs, pull out tray and etc etc, then add in the solid surface. It is quite ex in the end, if you compare the prices btwn the one at ikea & the one made by kitchen carpenters outside. On the more light-hearted side, ikea got pretty 'showflat' designs that would look very good at home except that some of the things are not sturdy enough to withstand with time though. I sort of like the kitchen layouts at ikea, not to mention the accessories too. You can go for the small items like kitchen accessories for your kitchen as an example, my 2 cts worth
  18. I think I have the same tile as you which is shown in the pic, for my balcony. Keke.

  21. Wa, babytan.. your 3D pics looks nice! I'm sure your house will turn out nice in the end, looking at kittygal's house pics. More more pix.
  22. Well from what i've read up, you need to have waterproofing done if hack the floor & wall tiles. For overlay, its up to you but make sure that it is done in accordance with HDB guidelines le. Overlay has its cons & pros but if I am you, I will hack and put in tiles instead of overlay so as to minimise any chances of popping up later on. HDB contractors hacked and retiled the common bathroom for my place due to hollow tiles. They laid the wall tiles first then the floor tiles later.
  23. LOL finished painting the doors le, but since i got leftover paints i prob be having time to bake cupcakes/cakes & paint the other 2 rooms slowly for the time being.
  24. Perhaps I try it out again with heavy cream next week as I have alot of time on my hands since Im going to be a full time hsewife temporary I hope
