  1. your 90 sqm looks so much bigger than my 85sqm. sobz....
  2. i agree!! but sometimes for short distance travelling, it's more convenient to cycle than to take bus. sometimes gotta wait 15-20mins for the bus to come, esp in sengkang west. very pek cek one.... cycling in the neighbourhood is still feasible. i agree we need to be more careful and considerate though.
  3. take note that they dun mark up the price of the tiles. i went to hafary to choose my tiles. normal anti-stain homo tiles cost $2.70 to $2.90. superwhite ones cost $3.80. my tiling works for living/dining/foyer/passageway/hhs cost $1890. expensive hor? but my contractor refuse to lower the price. he says his worksmanship is good one de. i asked him if he's using w1. he said yes. so i just accept his price. sian...
  4. thanks simpleboi! you rec mine? my quotation is revised 3X. and now even when we've already signed on the dotted line, i already have in mind wad more changes i wanna make liao. keke...
  5. i always give way to cyclists as i always thot that's the rite thing to do. move to the side only. no big deal rite? i dun think ring ring ring is rude. how else can they convey the message when they are approaching from a distance? it's really dangerous to cycle on the road. i wun encourage anyone to do that cos i've a relative who died in a road accident years ago, bicycle knocked down by car. i understand there are funny cyclists around. once, an uncle on bicycle approach me from in front, stretched out his hand when near me, as if wanna touch me. i still rem the stupid silly grin on his face. luckily i was carrying an umbrella. managed to use it as a shield. tho i'm still quite sore abt it till today. hope i can slap him in the face one day. :~
  6. eh... the hob costs $570. but we were given some discounts off the total price. initially we wanted to buy turbo until he show us the difference in the materials used.
  7. simpleboi, mind sharing your quotation? my email: xiao_xiin@hotmail.com i bot rinnai glass hob cos the man says only this brand got no complains regarding its glass. also got a cuizino telescopic hood. have no idea wad it is or how it looks like. salesman says good then we ok.
  8. wah... so envious... collected my keys for more than 2 weeks liao but other than dust, there's nothing else in my unit. when r u moving in? my contractor charges $100 for plastering the HHS hole at foyer. i find it unacceptable. wad do u think?
  9. hi fatbear, you buy designer lights huh? 2k is a lot... but nice lights will really beautify your house.
  10. you very cute leh!! pizza, buns, burgers, cakes n drumsticks... makes me hungry! keke... dunno abt plc lights. but think the rest should be ok. ard the same as mine. my ceiling fan+light kit+remote costs $328. the uncle says our acrylic buns are not like plastic, so wun turn yellow. but acrylic is a type of plastic loh. kekeke...!!!
  11. we din do any L-box or false ceiling. !! last time when we went to ikea, we saw this row of hanging lights that can be dimmed by "touch". intending to buy this for dining area. very cheap only....
  12. 1k+??!!! that's a lot!! but it's really sui! my ah lao says we using hdb's original...
  13. i just bot my lights last sunday: - 1 ceiling fan with 4 lights and remote control - 3 square glass bedroom lights (can switch to warm lights) - 3 "bun" lights for toilets n HHS - 2 4ft tubes for toilet (above mirror) - 2 "french loaf" lights for kitchen - 1 ice cube for foyer - 2 small "S" glass lights for passageways no hanging pendant lights wor... total damage is $986. dunno if it's reasonable?
  14. i kena the "3 pax in 2 seats" situation b4. but she was a 12 yr old gal so still ok lah... i've seen on the NEL (bigger seats), ppl performing the same act. but it was a china middle aged man forcing his way in between and he knows neither of the people on his sides. we were all staring at him and he still wun budge. the lady also refuse to stand up. but i feel protecting yourself is more impt than protecting your seat mah... my way of tackling the pole problem is wearing a solitaire ring. u know a solitaire ring scratches?? n it hurts!! more effectively than using nail or finger. but of cos dun use too much force lah...
  15. hey jasch, when you open the HHS door fully, will it bang into your shoe cabinet? mine will eat into the foyer area so i'm thinking of doing two seperate cabinets (upper and lower) like yours so that the handle of the door can rest in between them.
  16. i understand how you feel... i'm the stubborn and fierce DIL. that's why we got our flat, i hurry hand fast leg fast chop all the rooms to myself. one sleeping room, one wardrobe room and one study room. of cos i kept grumbling that the flat is how small how small... one thing i learn from my husband is how not to say "NO". when the elders say we should wad and wad, we always go "we'll see first." and "see how loh.." we don't agree neither do we disagree with other people, becos the owners of the house have already decide wad they want. afterall, they only say "WAD IF", which might never happen.
  17. hiya, you can call the number at the lift lobby. i called and was told for 4 room, it's $1000. if getting HDB to do free screeding for some parts of the flat, the cost will be lower. for mine, i don't need sand for my kitchen and bedrooms, so it cost $600.
  18. hello! long time no post here already.... my renovater says the sliding door is possible. but the gap between the sliding door and the wall will be very far apart such that the big gap will not look nice. need to spend extra to build a board to fill up the gap.
  19. heh heh... me too. prefer things to be moveable. next time shift house still can re-use.
  20. and i was told that a washer/dryer can only dry half of the washer load. say the washer is 8kg, then the dryer will only be of 4kg. need to dry 2 rounds.
  21. it's pole system. 7 poles in all. but no doors leh. think it's the doors that is expensive wor. my hubby doesn't wan doors. he prefers "open" wardrobe. you know why? cos he's not the one doing the cleaning mah. btw, we went to imm to see see look look today. you guys may wanna know, at ALL BEST, price for mit. starmax system 3 (non-inverter) is $1899. mit. starmax system 4 (non-inverter) is fully sold out in singapore and not in production anymore, according to the salesman.
  22. hi moonbell, does this mean your maindoor cannot be swing open fully? hi gadgetgal, paiseh it's only 3.95m, abt 13ft. the alumix gal convert wrongly. i use the bedroom beside masterbedroom for wardrobe. din hack any wall. it's a full L-shape from the door to the window.
