Just now had some time and was thinking... if i'm getting those ikea cupboards and study rm cabinets, plus source for cheaper room doors and/even glass doors, the cost can go down to my tolerant level, aka abt 32k. And i'm doing polishing of existing flooring. Only did tiling works for kitchen n 2 toilets. Kitchen - hacking + laying of tiles + cabinets + island = $10k+. 39 ft. I dun mind swopping kitchen w Apple liaoz, gg by the reno $ i'm gonna fork out. Common bathrm - $2300 excl fittings. MBR bathrm = $2450 excl bathrms n bathtub. I dunno why capentry in diff rms are in diff rates. Kitchen is $90 pfr, MBR is 190 pfr, study rm is $240pfr. Why huh? I can understand kitchen coz middle nothing. But MBR n study... Going thru another id on mon instead coz hubby said dowan rush here rush there. Then can compare the 3 diff companies quotations on an orange to orange basis.

It's actually 1 of my kakis who said tt better get invertor. Her bro had gotten a non-invertor (2 adults + 1 <5 yr old kid) and said the electrical charges was quite high... We have no idea if it can last >10 yrs coz my current family unit is using Daikin and it is still working well after 10 yrs. It's an non-invertor and only the MBR is normally on the whole night, and my father was grumbling abt the increasing cost, with all other appliances notwithstanding.

Posted as per Bunbun's request. Is there a way to skip false ceilings or cornices and yet the wiring tubing (or whatsoever they are called) is not messy and obiang? I'm not a fan of them and was wondering if there's other ways... Anyone?

Err... that's the floor plan given by hdb... I had not confirmed which contractor/ID to go to, so no drawings yet. Erm, i'm more concerned on pots and pans being left to drip the water... becoz the dish tray above the sink may not have that much space to let a big pot to drip the water. If leave it by the sink on the countertop also odd odd...

Actually, i prefer fans personally. But gotta think long term when weather is so erm warm... Can't help u in deciding invertor/non-inverter. Let me know which brand n the btu combi... and i happen to call them can shun bian try to ask them for yr combi bah...

Hi BunBun, we are not doing any cabinets above the fridge... hubby says then we will not be restricted by height of fridge since we have the time frame to buy furniture n stuff slowly (other than those fixed ones like toilets, sinks etc). However, we are thinking of a tall cabinet next to the fridge since that area is quite big. "Open shelves" as in those not covered? Like shelf by shelf? We lazy bummers leh... scared dust dust. !! Err.. floor plan disappeared liaoz... i try to re-upload again soon. Didnt have it in this pc.

Initially was kinda scared also... but when they did it, i find tt it's ok lah... like ants biting you lor. But must go to a gd one lah.

Nopey... will be changing the cabinets. Bcoz it's too badly maintained... I suppose a bar may look nicer as there are already top cabinets. If it's a rack, it's like so many 'horizontal' stuff... Hmm... will chew on it...
