  1. Try to use copper piping. My suggestions.
  2. I think its slightly on the high side. Maybe $6.5k-6.7k can be done too w/o loss of quality.
  3. The shop that quoted u York was Creationair?
  4. The fancoil position that u mentioned for the master and 2 bedrooms seems ok. The living room position is also fine. Assuming the installer is able to run the piping (after factoring beams, built in cupboard etc.)
  5. Why dont u consider Panasonic? Should be around the same price range.
  6. Sys 4 outdoor unit has 2 btu capacity. Either 27k btu or 36k btu. For Daikin n Mit Electric.
  7. If u use 1-3 hrs daily, non-inverter will be good enough.
  8. Inverter aircon will adjust its energy consumption according to the number of fancoils u turn on. If you on only one, the aircon will consume less electricity compared to on 3.
  9. Install your fancoil for the 2 bedrooms directly on top of the door. Piping length is shorthed and looks nice. Just my views.
  10. Install water tray below the outdoor unit to prevent the water from dripping on his outdoor unit.
  11. Different site locations - different quote.
  12. U can try to replace the outdoor unit with a recon one. Cheaper then a brand new one but wont last long also.
  13. Market rate around $250-$350 per fancoil to relocate and rerun piping.
  14. Is ur aircon model Ftkd25/35dvm. Outdoor 3mkd75dvm?
  15. I think the user was quoted $1.2k to remove the aircon unit from 1 location and install @ another location. Its for labour only. The user decided to reuse her unit as it as seldom used. Is it Mit ac?
  16. Buy universal remote from hardware shops. Cost around $10 to $15.
  17. Use min gauge 23 or 22 (which is better quality), n aramflex or thermaflex class 0 insulation.
  18. My advice, use k-flex or armaflex will be better. Feedback from user, armaflex have less condensation issues after installation. Mit non-invertor can get for ard $1.9k excluding stainless bracket.
  19. Leak can happen to 4 areas. 1. Nut joint connections between equipment and piping. 2. Fancoil unit. 3. Condensor unit. 4. Piping.
  20. My 2 cents worth. No1. Daikin equipment is made in Thailand, not in Malaysia unless you are talking about Macquay. No2. R410 gas has a higher cost, if your system got leak in the future, it will be more costly to top up gas/rectify the leak. No3. Lowest quotation does not necessary mean that you are getting the best deal. The equipment price is more or less fixed by the brand, like Mit invertor sys 3 maybe around $1.9k (assuming only.) One company might quote you $2.7k for installation, another company might quote you $2.5k. 2.7k - 1.9k (equipment fixed price) = $800 for labour & materials. 2.5k-1.9k = $600 for labour & materials. If you are the aircon contractor, will you be buying expensive/good quality materials if your budget for material went down cause you quoted lower just to get the deal from the customer? Etc $600? Or with $800 you might be willing to spend more on materials to ensure better quality products? No4. 3 things to note for reno/aircon purchase. - Cheap - Good - Fast If something is cheap and good, it won't come fast aka wait long long... !! If something is good and fast, it won't come cheap. Premium service, premium price. If something is cheap and fast, it won't come good. Cheap cheap sell, cheap cheap do. Cheers to all...
  21. Daikin non-invertor sys 4 Ma56ev16 - condensor ard 21k btu Ft25dvm - fancoil for bedrooms 9k btu Ft50fvm - fancoil for living room 18k btu
