Additional 1k Cost To Dispose Laminated Flooring?
keltong replied to teacubet's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
Yeah...price wise I cannot advise since I have not gotten quotes on this before, but 1K seems a little on the high side, getting a few quotes to compare is definitely a wise things to do. I understand about uniformity, I wouldn't want my 3 BR to look different colors too...a little to much....what I did previously was one color for all the BRs, and one for the living room. -
Hi countrylover, can you share what is your damage and what kind of materials they are using? I remember you were quoted $2380 for Inverter, does that mean you pay only $1680 for the non-inverter? Is it inclusive of GST? Thanks!

You can check the HDB website for: Precincts Announced for LUP. Announced Precincts for MUP Precincts Announced for IUP Plus NRP and HIP has not announced the blocks chosen yet. For more information, look into HDB website under "Home Owner -> Estate Renewal Programmes".

Yeah...haha....finally....should make a decision this week hopefully.

A bit off topic in this thread but just a quick one. I don't have a lot of prob with the hob, but come to think of it I do have 1 or 2 marks on the hob that is difficult to remove. We just use normal soap and cloth to clean, don't dare to use scrub cause not sure if it will spoil the hob. But generally it is in good condition.

Additional 1k Cost To Dispose Laminated Flooring?
keltong replied to teacubet's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
From what I understand, this may not be entirely false. According to NEA, waste is classified into 3 types: So you waste is classified under Type A. But they also dictate the following: Non-incinerable waste includes the following: So in this case, your wood cannot be mixed with other debris (maybe from your hacking of the wall) and need to be send to different places to dispose, thus incurring additional cost (for separate trips and to pay the different disposal area). I believe dumping is not free (cannot be sure of this though). For further reading, check out this PDF. -
Yeah...saw my neighbour downstairs just installed something like that in their service balcony.

Why square and not rectangle? In my opinion, square will accommodate lesser people taking up bigger space.

Looking For Black Glass Tv Console..whr Got Sell?
keltong replied to gingerbelle's topic in Home Furnishings
Cool. Maybe I should give them a chance and pay them a visit again...still finding hard for a decent console. -
Heehee....skywolf....just wondering to go inverter or non-inverter, and sys3 or sys4. Looks like not decided on anything yet! But I am incline to go for Toshiba Sys4 Inverter. This is the most likely option. Else I may just go for Toshiba Sys3 Non-Inverter. Think I have just narrowed myself to 2 options...phew...

err....you want the official answer? Than no loh -
Vitroceramic. Was thinking of induction but they don't have 2 burners. We only wanted 2 burners as we don't cook as often, and even if we do, we usually use max 2 only. We have the same one in our last home and it served us well. We really miss it when we are now at my parent's home. Kinda dislike flames now...haha... Also, induction is too expensive and need special pots and pans. Decided it was too much to change and since we already have pots for the vitroceramic (which is any pots and pans with flat bottom), and we like it previously, we stick to it.

I am looking at all 4 for rooms, so price will be different. So far lowest is $3200 but have not check if got 'upgrade' (material) cost.

Looking For Black Glass Tv Console..whr Got Sell?

I also haven't buy, saw one that Star Furniture, 1st look quite nice, 2nd look still ok, but 1 of the sliding door already giving a loud creaking sound. So don't think it will last long. Other places haven't see one that I like. Ikea got some nice ones but 1st option is to go for 1 with glass doors (so lesser dust can don't clean so often !! ) and Ikea one no glass doors. If you happen to take a shot of the Morris console, do share it here. Hee... -
Good for you...maybe we went in looking at the advert sofa (less than 1k) so they feel we not serious in buying, at first like nobody want to serve us, pass from one sales person to another, the final one like bo bian need to serve like that. !! But nevermind lah, coz we didn't see anything we like there anyway...hahaha....we saw a few sets at the 7th floor, but in the end decided against it. Maybe we just don't feel comfortable with them anymore. Buy thing is like that, must feel comfortable with them first. Else how nice the thing also become not nice. !! Our sofa set not delivered yet, will take 4-6weeks, about 2 weeks now liao. Still waiting. Will post a photo when I got it.

I decided to call Toshiba to confirm. Called and the customer server answer, "Carrier", I got so confused! I didn't know they are under one roof. Confirm it is 34K BTU. Almost every company's salesperson told me, "Oh, Toshiba previous model is 30K BTU (coz the model is 4M30) and the new model lesser BTU, 26K only (coz model is 4M26)". But I remember the old Toshiba brochure states the 4M30 is 34K BTU. So the "30" cannot be the BTU (like the M10 for the fan coil is 9K BTU and not 10K). Than I did a search and Coolserve states 34K BTU. But there are about the only company that says so. Every other company told me is 26K BTU. Makes me wonder if they really know their stuff. 34K BTU will be great for my 4 fancoils (4x M10). According to the Toshiba guy, if I on all 4, it will output about 8K each so up to 32K BTU, enough for HDB (34K is up to).

Thanks...I take it you mean 4M26SACV. Did you see the 34K BTU specs on some brochure? Or the condenser? Or the sales person told you. Sorry huh, coz different salesman tell me different BTU, I also confuse!

Wow...you must be a good baker/cook. Just realise my sister's house using SMEG also, and she also bakes very often. -
I happen to go to all these 4 companies mentioned so just share my own experiences. Morris - went there after seeing an ad, showed them the add but no one knows which is the sofa set on offer, 1 sales person push to another, and another, and finally one came to serve me say show me other set first. Went up and down to show me different sets, didn't like the look and ask again for the advertise set, finally brought me back to ground floor and pointed to one set, tell me that is the one (took her so long to realize?), don't look the same as the photo in the newspaper but insisted that's the one. Gave up and walk away. Castilla - Went to the one at IFC, saw some low prices but not real leather, got 1 full leather L-shape sofa that caught my eyes, shortlisted. Went to the main showroom/factory which happen to be nearby IFC. Walk through entire 1st floor and 2nd floor, not a single salesperson in sight, walk away. OM - Went in to the leather section, the look and feel is excellent, very comfortable. But too costly, way out of budget. Went off wishing I can find a bag of dollar notes outside the showroom. Home2B - saw a couple of sofa I really like, but a bit price out of my range too. Saw sales on paper, than proceed to the gallery at IFC, price is lower than before, like the look. Revised budget upwards (but still much lower than OM's) and committed. Note: price display excludes GST, almost walk away but after some haggling, salesperson got approval from management to waive, say since is the last promo set they will just do it for me.

How much is it? -
What type of material are you looking for? Fabric, PVC, PU, half leather, full leather?

I have used Green Tea (Nippon) as my feature wall in my master bedroom in my last house (feature wall as in use it in one wall with different and light tone paint on other 3 walls) and we really love it. Current painter choice uses a different range of colors so cannot choose Green Tea again, so chose other colors.

This is very subjective, all has it's pros and cons...I try to be objective, but will still be a little bias This is more like my own thoughts on the matter and my own research, not any official view. LCD - No reflection, color not as rich, no burn in problem Plasma - Lots of reflection due to glass surface, rich in color, burn in problem (but new tech shd address this) Full HD - Super clear image, excellent if you intend to get a bluray player, for 40" and above only, but heard that 50" and above will make more different (cannot verify). Future proof. True 1080p. HD Ready - Give very clear image, good enough for current HD5 playback. Cheap. Some model can upscale when playing bluray dvd but will not be as good as true (full) HD. I believe currently dealers are beginning to dump 32" with that fast becoming bedroom size. Living room are now dominated more by 37" and above LCD/Plasma. This is my own view only with no research. I set out wanting to buy FULL HD , but discussed with my wife and feels that we may not need it. We do not own a bluray player and may not own one in the near future. We do not own a PS3 nor a XBOX 360 with HD drive. Current HD5 is not broadcast in FULL HD. I tested on Starhub HD channel and HD-ready is good enough for me. Even though I wish I have them. I choose Sony because I own a Sony S series 32" Bravia and love the color. I have seems so many and decided that I like Sony the best, so when the different brands are about the same price, I choose Sony (and it's the same S series again). I felt paying $1799 for a 42" HD ready TV is reasonable, didn't want to spend the extra 1K for full HD. I'm sure many will disagree with my view, but this is why I end up with another S series. On the side thought, nice to have 2 same series TV, like a combo set.
