No worry bro, i should be the one to apologise.....cos i didn't explain it clear on my initial post...which gives u guys wrong impression on ids/contractors.

I did sent an email enquiry to spservices, hope to get their reply regarding the time taken from cold to hot.

Bro, dun condemn the id yet, cos he jus advise us to considering instant/storage water heater instead of gas water heater, and he did told us to find out more info frm renotalk forum n singaporebrides forum to search for more reviews. But i didn't manage to get much reviews and those reviews which I manage to find are few yrs back posting which cannot use it for now, reason is the equipment will be improving along the way... One thing i like him is he did suggested us to do plastering over existing tiles on kitchen to save $$$ on hacking n installing new tiles, reason is becos we seldom cook. Which so far none of the id we went, suggested it to us though we did highlight to them abt we seldom cook at home. But I am still find it not safe if jus plastering cos dunno in future will the grout line appear visibly in 1 or 2 yrs time....

Went to 1 ID firm last nite, being advise to us for considering installing either elect heater/storage heater because city gas water heater sometimes took abt 10-15mins for it to have hot/warm water upon turning on the tap. Is it true? Because i don't get to see from citygas website stated how long does it takes to have warm/hot water after turning on the tap. Any kind soul that has installed, can hear from your feedback? Thanks.

I intend to do a full height shoes cabinet but my sis told me based on her logic is no good because whenever u want to take your shoes at the higher level, dust/dirt will eventually drop down and dirty your ownself... After hearing, i find it true becos the shoes we wearing sure will be dirty mah, and even if you just want to put shoes box at the higher level, also no good, reason is, over the time, sure will have dust and how are you going to clean the upper shelves of the shoes cabinet? U need to bring down the shoes box and dust/dirt will fly around, then you still need to use a chair to climb up and hold onto the vacuum(suction pipe not long enough) to clear the dust, right? So, it is troublesome..... So, do you satisfy with my answer?

Wodering whether can just pay to engage interior designer to come with the design and then ownself look for its own main contractor..... Anyone have experience before? Thanks.

I am thinking of doing a full Reno but the flooring is quite good, just that the color a bit dark n ceramics tiles is of small types. I think eventually will do a full Reno becos I dun want end up the hse looks ugly by the floor tiles. My quotation i got is without gust becos the Id will absorb. Btw, shall post the quotation breakdown on coming weekend as so far I only got 1 quotation given to me by one of the id firm, then 1 quotation was do it on the spot which dun allows us to take, and another quotation will be ready by tis sat.

U are right. Initially my budget set at 20k plus for doing kitchen, 2 bathroom, 2 built-in cabinet n feature wall plus window. But the quote given to me was 34k, and if want to do up flooring for living rm n bedroom,add 7k....end up quotation is 40k plus. But I believes need to buffer another 10-20% more cos sure hv lots of hidden things...

Has been reading the forum for quite some time and knew abt ppl do a self advertise. Anyway, i and my wife had just bought our love nest. Currently, i have come out with a rough idea of how it should look like and did a simple design using the interior design free software. By the way, I did went to 3 id firm and the quotation for the whole hse reno will cost likely 40k. So thinking whether if i go thru using contractor, will it be much more cheaper, maybe 1/2 of the price quote from id firm??? If so, any of you have contractor contact, do post in the thread. The heater itself has a temperature control, all u need is to turn ur tap lever to the hottest side, then slowly adjust the heater temperature to ur desire hotness. So even if ur aged parents accidentally turn the tap lever to the hottest side, it will not scalded ur aged parents.

Just did my aircon servicing, a 4 fan coil for normal servicing w/ top-up R22 gas is $180....and my parent house, a 5 fan coil is $200. After i read here, then come to know being ripped......
